Focus? Power Foods.

In my effort to make up for dinner and drinks out Thursday, Happy Hour on Friday, and all that beer at the local pool hall on Saturday, I am focusing on the power foods in a serious effort to not freak out on Friday at the scale.

Here is how yesterday went. Open face egg white (power food)and cheese sandwich on English muffin (power food)…..with a banana (power food) and Better N Peanut Butter.

With this new cheese!

Lunch was string cheese, an apple (power food), grapes (power food), nonfat yogurt (power food) topped with Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal.

For a snack, I had a banana (power food).

And dinner turned out really tasty. I was roaming the isles on Sunday at the grocery store looking for a new dinner idea, or at least something we hadn’t had in a while. I found this!

So I made up a little stir fry! Chicken (power food), onions, shredded carrots, red and orange bell peppers (all power foods) and water chestnuts.

I was a little nervous the sauce might be too spicy for me, but it was soooo good. It was a little sweet, which was great with the onions and bell peppers. We ate it over brown rice (power food!). We can’t wait to have it again!

Those are the eats for the day. Not bad, huh?

Before dinner, I took a good one hour walk, then mowed the lawn, but I didn’t eat those earned activity points in my effort to not freak out on Friday at the scale.

I tracked 80 oz. of water yesterday, then I stopped writing it down.

Last weekend, we babysat two of our grand kids. Ages 5 and 2. I am pretty sure we made the right decision to have children early in life, because when they left, we were exhausted!

Look at this handsome man……..

…….and this little angel…..

Then we played with the IPad a little……He he.

I wish I would have taken a picture, but they slept in our bed with us AND our two dogs! Maybe thats why we were exhausted when they left? Cant wait to do it allover again!

Do you have one of these?

This is a great little tool for your kitchen. I bought mine at my WW meeting, but I would imagine you could get one at any kitchen store. It’s an Olive Oil Sprayer. You give it a pump or two, and lightly spray the olive oil. I love it on my roasted veggies! Works great as cooking spray for my omelets too!

Here is another great tool! A scale! Again, I bought this at my WW meeting, and it actually can give you PPV, but any scale can help in your weight loss efforts, just to make sure your portion sizes are accurate.

I love this because you can put your food on it, and then type in what the food is, and it gives you your PPV value!

This baked sweet potato was 4 PPV. I had guessed it at 3, so it was a good thing I checked.

That sums up yesterday, and a few extra little tidbits. Now out to run some errands and plan for another great day of Power Foods!

I wonder if I’ll use this today…….it adds a little excitement to my day when I am driving around all afternoon.

How can you NOT love this???

Make it a GREAT day!
