Yip. It’s a date I can’t forget. June 12, 1999. Mike and I and our four kids moved into our house. Mike and I were married in May of 1999, and our kids were still in school. Mike and his kids lived in Raymore, Missouri. Tess and I lived in Olathe, Kansas. Our house wasn’t finished being built yet, so with school still in session and no house to move into, we were each still living in the duplexes we had rented after we each had sold our homes. So the first month that we were married, we didn’t even get to live together!! It was super weird. I remember calling Mike and saying something stupid like….
“Hello Husband. How are things at YOUR house today?”
But then the house was done, school was out, and it was finally time for all of us to blend together under one roof. Sometimes that feels like yesterday, and other times it feels like we have been together and lived in this house our entire lives. Time is a funny thing like that.
I have only lived in 3 houses my entire life. I lived in the house that I grew up in for 20 years, then in my Olathe house for 7 years, and here for 14 years, and in between those years, I lived in a few apartments with friends. I get attached to my house and I HATE the whole moving process, so we anticipate being here for a long time.

Vegetable Mac and Cheese! It had broccoli, red bell pepper, zucchini and carrots in it. I grilled up some chicken breast and added it to the top of my bowl full!
I only used half of the pasta that the recipe called for, I used Skim Milk, and I left out the red pepper flakes. I used Regular Sharp Cheddar Cheese and this was delicious!

Mowing and Weed-eating….in the HEAT!!
After that, I had no energy.
I did wear my pedometer and was a little disappointed to discover mowing my yard was only 0.85 miles. It did take me 45 minutes, and my Weight Watchers E-Tools tells me that 45 minutes mowing with a push mower earns me 3 activity points!
