I couldn’t sleep at all last night. After my weekend out of town, I have been working hard to make sure I didn’t have a gain on the scale this week. I know my body well enough now that one cheat day can really kinda screw with my weight loss momentum. Hitting the 160 mark last week was a huge moment for me! I think the last two hours of sleep this morning (it’s 5:30 am and I am wide awake and blogging!) were spent dreaming that I stepped on the scale and it said 162. I finally just got out of bed and stepped on the scale.
Since starting training with Jamie, we spend a lot of time talking about diet and food. I remember a few Weight Watchers meetings where we have discussed the importance of protein and weight loss. Sometimes I get lost in the science of it all, but what I took away from that information was that when you eat protein, your body works harder to digest it, which burns more calories, and allows you to lose weight faster. Jamie told me that if he were my weight loss coach, he would likely recommend that I eat 150 grams a day of protein!!! That’s a lot!
Yesterday, I was determined to UP my protein! I plan to do the same today, but with more success.
I let myself get a little side tracked yesterday evening. It was a good friends birthday and a small group of us got together for a Happy Hour Birthday celebration. I had planned to stay for two hours, drink water and only eat from the veggie tray. I was really having a good time catching up with my girls and the time just flew by!
I stayed for five hours (they stayed LONGER!), did two celebration shots (Uh, Carmel flavored Vodka! You really can’t say no to that!), ate from the veggie and fruit tray, the cashew bowl and the chocolate covered raisin bowl! (Not a lot, but wish I’d had none.)
Needless to say, I did not go home at 10:00 pm and eat the two chicken breast and salad that I had planned to eat for dinner.
Refresh…I can eat 26 points a day.
I can earn Activity Points by doing exercise, and eat them if I choose.
I have an allowance of 49 points that I can dip into if I chose.
I should drink a minimum of 6 (8 oz) glasses of water each day.
