The Truth Is In Your Jeans……

You wanna be able to fasten those babies with a little room!

Well, I’ve skipped another day of blogging. I always think I can get everything in, then often, nothing goes as planned. It’s my life. Well, my life when I’m not on my ordinary schedule anyhow.

Okay, probably one of the reasons I’ve not taken the time to sit down and write a blog post is because I wasn’t really sure just exactly WHAT  I wanted to say. I have NOT been taking pictures of my meals like I usually do and I have NOT been keeping track of points. I honestly have been a really crappy WW member these last few weeks and I just really piss myself off sometimes.

I put on my size 8 Levi’s yesterday for the first time in probably a week…..or two. It was not good. I could have worn them, but I would have been uncomfortable. I shouldn’t say I was surprised though. I did a pretty good job with my two Thanksgiving Dinner meals, but aside from those meals I have been on a sugar and carb craze…….and I wouldn’t really say that I’ve limited my adult beverages much. Yes, I would say for certain that…

“The Truth Is In Your Jeans”

I am leaving for Chicago on Thursday for a girls trip and I wanted to look my best in my jeans, and that just isn’t going to happen. I did go through my closet this morning, and really after getting rid of so many clothes, my options are limited, but it looks like leggings and sweaters instead of jeans and form fitting tops. Urg. Oh, I still plan to look my best and have a great time, but I am disappointed in myself for not being stronger and having more self discipline these last few weeks.

Okay, now for the fun stuff.

I had an awesome time having Tess in town, and we did get done most of what we had planned to do, from watching The Family Stone, to visiting friends, coffee on the couch with a fire in the fireplace and some good girl chat, playing games and decorating the Christmas Tree while watching the Chiefs game!

I am so glad she got to come home for her first Thanksgiving living away from home and I’m already anxious for her Christmas Visit!

Here are just a few pictures of Thanksgiving at our house.

Mom’s secret ingredient to her candied yams.

(Marshmallows, brown sugar, butter and the syrup from the can of yams, all boiled until thick! Again, don’t tell.)

Oh, and TEN pounds of potatoes!!

The smoked turkey from Fritz’s was so delicious, I may never cook another one.

Okay, I have lots going on over the next few days, so if I do get a blog posted, it will be short. I leave on Thursday morning for a long weekend. Monday I will post my plan to survive December and get back to where those size 8 Levi’s are comfortable on me.

For the next three days I plan to be on my best WW behavior. I tossed out ALL of the leftovers this morning and there is now nothing in my house that is off limits. Healthy fruits and veggies and a treadmill, although I might just get outside to walk today. The sun is shining brightly!!

I’m planning on a Great Day! I hope you are too!

  1. Yep. The truth is a little snug right now! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday to the beautiful little Ina!

  2. You are sooo right about enjoying your friends! I am so sorry about the recent losses. I can’t even imagine. Thanks for reading and understanding me! I would love to walk together in snow boots! I probably wouldn’t do it alone, but I’d sure do it with a friend! I’m planning on that now!

  3. Ya know I have been in your boat these past weeks ! I have lost weight, and everyone makes you feel so good telling you how good you look…and it makes all your hard work feel good! Then you enjoy the holiday with family and friends and GEEZ!!! Really ! The lbs. come on from where??? Like they sneak out of your old clothes hanging in the closet to haunt you at night !!!!
But…………………. I have had two friends say their last goodbyes to their love of their lives these past weeks and it brings you back to ground…. Sure you need to be healthy and you want to feel good about yourself but, if that size 8 means giving up good times with family and friends ? I would say …. You did all the right things! Enjoy your trip, love your friends, I’ll walk with snow boots on when you get back and we will burn extra calories !
