Happy Anniversary!

Happy Third Anniversary “The Weight of My Weight”!

May 9, 2011, I started writing my blog. I had no idea what I was actually doing, but I knew I needed to write. Here is my first post. I started my weight loss journey at 207 pounds.

This is day one of my blog. It has taken me about six weeks to figure out how to do a blog………probably shouldn’t be admitting that? I hope by putting it all out there, I will be able to reach my weight loss goal with a little humor, and hopefully encourage others to do the same. I plan to blog about the food I eat, my excercise routine, my mood and how it affects my weight loss, and recipes I’ve found that make the weight loss journey and the lifestyle change a bit more enjoyable! I hope you’ll follow me!

I needed to journal my weight loss efforts, including any success and any struggle. I kept the blog to myself for one year, then I decided to share it.The blog has become so much more to me personally than I ever anticipated. It’s gone in a completely different direction than I expected it to, and it’s taught me so much more about myself than I ever expected. I had high hopes of being at my goal weight by now, and working in a WW Location as a WW Leader, inspiring other’s to lose weight and live a healthy life. I am still not at that goal weight of 150 pounds, and I am not a WW Leader, but surprisingly, I am living a healthy life, and I have been able to inspire others to live healthier lives, all thanks to this blog!

The emails that I get, and the comments on the blog, make me realize that it is “The Journey” that is inspiring other’s, and the determination to continue the healthy choices. It’s not a diet, it truly is a lifestyle. I recently really beat myself up about not reaching my goal weight, and actually gaining back a few pounds, I’ve realized that the ultimate goal was better health, and inspiring others, and I am there.

The blog has given me the accountability that I needed, and still need to keep living a healthy life and sharing my story.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for your support!

Happy 15th Anniversary to my husband, Mike!

May 8, 1999, I married my best friend. Okay, he probably wasn’t really my best friend 15 years ago, but after so many years together of supporting each other through life’s up’ and down’s, watching our children become adult’s, celebrating each other’s successes and failures, and learning more about who we are, he is completely my BEST friend! He totally gets me like no one else does, and for that alone, I love him so much.

We had talked about celebrating our anniversary by going to New York, which I still really want to do, but when the opportunity came up to go on the Wine trip, we decided that sounded like a perfect trip to take for our anniversary!

Last night we had a nice dinner out, and we still are planning a romantic weekend in a B&B or in a hotel before the month is over.

When I woke up, these were on the kitchen counter. 🙂

I got in a great 4 mile Run/Walk along with some good stretching, incorporating some yoga moves I recently learned in a Yoga Class! I totally forgot to tell you about Yoga! During my little break from the blog, I had a lot going on. I had signed up for 25 yoga classes a few weeks back, but was a bit nervous to go. A friend of mine happened to sign up for classes at the same yoga place, and she convinced me to go with her. We did a 30 minute Core Class, followed by a 60 minute Yoga Class! Egads!! That was a lot for my first time, but I loved it! We did those classes the day before I left for our wine trip, and when I got up that morning after the class, I felt it from head to toe! But it did feel good! I’m ready to do that again! 🙂
