Yoga Outdoor’s….ahhhhh

Dog Training

I woke up at 5:00 am on Saturday morning to Tucker wondering around the bedroom. Then Tucker kindly did number 1 AND number 2 outside, and I guess I was just so excited to see progress, and no mess on the carpet, that I just couldn’t go back to sleep! At 8:00 pm last night, I was ready for bed! The training is going well. He is kept in the kitchen when I’m not home, (thanks to Mike’s custom built gate!) and when I am home, I’ve got my eye on him like a HAWK!! There is now a gate closing off the upstairs, and one closing off the basement, two places he liked to wander off to and do his business! He has still pooped in the kitchen 6 of the last 12 days, but I figure at least it is on the kitchen floor, and I can easily clean it up. The first week of the dog training is all about teaching your dog (or dog’s) that YOU are the boss. House training is not included in the first week. I cheated and read ahead in my provided workbook. This is no joke. If the dog makes a mess in the house, you are supposed to put your dog on a leash, sit down beside the mess with your dog, set the timer for 15 minutes, then discuss with your dog how this is inappropriate behavior and it will not be tolerated. I lasted seven minutes. The first minute, Tucker refused to look at me, or the poop on the floor. (Yes, you are supposed to leave the mess right there while you talk about it!) The second minute, he looked me right in the face and seemed to feel quite guilty. The third minute, he looked around and I kept gently taking his face in my hands and making him look me straight in the eye. I could feel him saying he was sorry. I’m NOT kidding. After seven minutes of saying the same thing over and over and over again, he laid down and sighed. I figured we’d both had enough, and I threw the poop away. That was Friday. I’ll keep you posted. The Dog Whisperer comes again on Monday.

Yoga

I was really looking forward to Saturday! I was meeting some friends at Casa Somerset, for Yoga outside, followed by lunch and wine! I had heard of this great little Bed and Breakfast called Casa Somerset, but I had never been! Apparently they host all sorts of events where sleeping over is not required, but after seeing it, I wanna go back and stay the night!

Just as I was about to walk out the door to head to Yoga, I went to the basement to grab a bottle of my favorite wine that I had bought on our recent wine trip. I was meeting friends that we had gone on the wine trip with, and it seemed an appropriate time to share a bottle with friends! When I walked into the basement, I stepped into water!  Apparently, our sump pump decided it was tired and ready to call it quits! Mike came home from work, and insisted that I continue with my plans, so I did. 🙂 I love that man. Basically he dealt with the whole mess, installing a new sump pump and washing towels and rearranging wet crap, Remember when that bird pooped on me a few days ago, and then a dog bit me?? Well, I am certain that bird’s pooping on you do NOT bring good luck, NO good luck at all!!

Here are a few pic’s of our Yoga setting! It was cloudy and somewhat cool for a day in May, but it was quiet and peaceful and a perfect setting! We were on the second floor of this large house looking over a few vineyards and a small lake. My picture doesn’t do it justice at all in this view.

Everyone picked their spots and we got ready to start. There were about 25 people there!

Behind me is the view I had. It was so relaxing. (A few times, I did think of Mike at home cleaning up the mess!)

After Yoga, they pulled tables out and we had lunch right where we had done Yoga!

This was the view right outside two of the bedroom’s. Anybody getting ready to plan a wedding?

Yoga was great. I am bummed to say that I did not get my mile of running in yesterday. I hate to have to say that. I’ll get two in today to make up for it, but I really did intend on running ONE mile everyday this month!

Here are Saturday’s eats. It was an odd food day. I had strange cravings and wasn’t sure how to count lunch? It’s a guesstimate.

Breakfast

Lunch

Salad, Cold Seafood Pasta, Hot Chicken Pasta

2 Bites of Bread with butter

2 Bites of Limoncello Cake

10 oz. Red Wine

I ate all of the salad, and tried to get small portions of the pasta. I left a few bites of pasta on my plate. It was really hard to stop at two bites of that cake! The chef makes it all from scratch! He also makes his own Limoncello, which we all got to sample! It was divine.
