Exercising With Your Dog

Yesterday I was in a huge hurry to write my blog and get out the door to the DMV. I failed to mention in my blog that I did NOT get in a ONE mile run on Tuesday. I did however walk 6.8 Miles and ride my bike 3 miles. I was just not feeling it after that. Lesson learned. ALWAYS run first. 🙂

Oh, and speaking of running, I blogged about signing up to run a 10K on July 4th, and due to a schedule conflict, that did NOT happen. I am currently looking into adding another 5K to my list though, and hopefully, before the summer is over, my friend Rebecca and I will get in a 10K too!

I did get my ONE mile run in on Wednesday. I decided to see how Tucker would do on a run with me.  I see people running with their dogs all the time. My dogs are little, so I wasn’t really sure how long those little short legs would be able to keep up with me! I think Mishka is too old to try, but she can stick right with me and Tucker on a 2 mile walk with no problem at all!

Tucker and I headed out the door in the evening. The weather has been gorgeous, just gorgeous! Once I figured out just how much leash to give him so that tripping over him or the leash wasn’t an issue, we got a nice rhythm going and we were on our way. I seem to be most comfortable with a 12 minute mile, although I have discovered if I really want to, I can comfortably do it in 10 minutes. Tucker and I together did our mile in just over 12 minutes. We’ll work on improving that pace together. After our run, we kept up a good pace and walked an additional 2.3 Miles. He slept the rest of the evening.

Do YOU run with your dog??

I ate more points than I wanted to yesterday, (the pasta tasted really really good!) however I am still within my points for the week. Today is the last day of my WW Week, and I know it was a successful week on the scale! I will focus on getting in lots of fruits and veggies today!

Here are yesterday’s eats!

Breakfast

Sweet Potato topped with 2 Poached Eggs

Frothy Coffee with Skim Milk

Snack

(There was a donut shop next door to the DMV with Good Mornining America on and a cozy chair. I went in there for a cup of black coffee, and when I realized how comfy it was there verses the DMV and thier hard and cold chairs, I couldn’t just hang out and NOT order something! These were delicious! No regrets.)

2 Glazed Donut Holes

3 PPV

I did look up the points before eating them too!
