Feeling Strong!

It’s just been a really good last few day’s. My Weigh In went WAY better than I was expecting after the weekend I had last weekend. I actually lost weight! The last three days, I’ve gotten in two walks like this one I did yesterday……

……I’ve consumed a LOT of water, went to bed early, and I’ve eaten really well. I already feel a lot better than I did just a few days ago!

I met another WW member for coffee after my meeting Friday morning. She read’s my blog, and she had said that she thinks that we have very similar struggles and she wanted to get together and discuss. We had a great hour and a half chat about our life long battle with weight, and the mentality of it all. I’m not sure we solved any unanswered questions for each other, but it felt really good to sit down and share our thoughts  and feelings with each other, thoughts and feelings that I’ve not even shared here on the blog.

I’ve received several emails and comments on the blog from readers who are saying they can relate to my own weight loss journey.

Here are a few…….

“Julie, I am a fellow WW member and love your blog.   We seem to struggle with many of the same issues and I, like you, just keep plugging along.  Thank you for your honesty.  For me, the fact that you are real, is the most helpful thing.”

“Julie, I am so proud of you! You have set some amazing goals and have met them and are continuing to keep them. Good for you! That is perseverance and commitment and determination. Determination is powerful. You inspire me every day. This healthy living stuff isn’t the easiest, but the payoff is pretty huge. Yes, we make unwise choices some days, forgive ourselves when the day is done, and recommit the next day. It’s all OK. Thanks for all you do.”

“I have the same trouble. Just wanting to eat like a “normal” person….it’s hard, but it’s a journey. Keep up the good work, you inspire me!”

“New reader, love your blog. We have a lot in common. Kudos to you for addressing the issues and making a plan. That’s what winners and successful people do! I know you’ll see the scale heading down soon. You inspire me!”

Those comments always mean a lot to me.  I think some of it is just knowing that there are other people out there who understand exactly what my food struggles are, and they’re right there with me. I think there is always comfort in numbers.

Today, I am in the zone. Why do I allow myself to get OUT of the zone? I have no idea.  For now, I’m just going to enjoy being in it, and hope that I can stay there without allowing myself to be distracted.

I went to a Happy Hour last night with some girlfriends, and I knew before I went that I would only drink water. Making the decision to only drink water BEFORE I went, led to a successful evening for me. Every time I do that, I feel awesome, and I tell myself that it really wasn’t that big of a deal. Well, wait. Actually it was a really big deal. It’s a decision that made me feel really good about myself. I felt in control, and I felt strong. When I say it wasn’t a big deal, I mean nobody there cared if I drank or not, and I still had a really good time with my girls.
