Join Me in a Healthy Week!

This Week

I wrote one of those post this week where I had to admit I’m struggling. I hate writing those post, but I have to admit they do seem to get me back in a serious Weight Watcher Zone, for a while anyhow. I had a few comments on that post that also reminded me that many of us struggle in this food/weight battle, and that again, I am not alone in my struggles.

I keep reminding myself that even though I have gained some of my weight back, this last 5 years is the longest that I have stuck with it, and I have not gone back on my word that I would be a Weight Watcher member for the rest of my life. Staying with Weight Watchers and continuing to work on being the best me that I can be, is keeping me from completely going to back to all of my old habits. I am constantly reminding myself of why I am doing what I am doing. I want to be healthy, today, tomorrow, and in 20 years. The only way to do that, is to never stop trying to be a better and healthier me.

This week, i am going to focus on “this week”.

For those of you that are having some similar struggles as myself, I encourage you to do the same. Focus on just this week. Pat yourself on the back for small successes throughout the week that have nothing to do with the scale. Pat yourself on the back for drinking your water. Pat yourself on the back for getting in some activity. Pat yourself on the back for meal planning. Pat yourself on the back for taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Pat yourself on the back for not eating seconds at dinner. Pat yourself on the back for taking the steps necessary to make this a Healthy Week!

Activity

I forgot how much I really do NOT enjoy walking on the treadmill, in a room, alone, and how much I really do like to walk outside with a friend!

I got on there yesterday. I literarily kept my pi’s on, put on my walking shoes, grabbed the book I had started reading that I couldn’t seem to put down, and got on the treadmill! I walked 6 Miles while finishing my book!

Reading and walking was not as near as easy as I had thought, but I got the job done and knocked off 6 more miles!

I was home most of the day yesterday, and I kept myself busy and out of the kitchen. I drank 15 glasses of water, so that kept me full (and busy!). I kept telling myself that I was doing a great job of staying out of the kitchen! I had a delight pizza from Papa Murphy’s planned for dinner, but I know how hard it is for me to only eat two pieces, so I made the pizza for Mike, and I made a meal for myself that was satisfying, tasty, and an all around better option for me.

It was a successful day, and I feel ready for the weekend! We have plans to go to dinner with friends tonight, and then to a concert, so I will plan accordingly today.

Here are yesterday’s eats!

  1. Hi Nancy,

I think Simple Start is a great idea! I have had great luck with it in the past. Two weeks for me was great, then I found myself eating the right foods, but more than I should have been eating for the day. I’m a quantity person. 🙂

Thanks for reading, and thank you for taking the time comment!

Have a Happy and Healthy Weekend!

  2. Hi Julie

Ahhhh….the treadmill. I am really so glad that I bought that a few years back, but I really would rather be outside!

Congrats on your 45 pound loss! That’s awesome!

Thank you so much for your compliments. I hope the pictures do help other Weight Watcher members, or anyone really that is trying to lose weight. I think I eat fairly simple stuff, but I have learned to be just a little creative.

I will keep it up, and you do the same and eventually those last pounds will come off!

Have a Happy and Healthy Weekend!

    Julie

  3. THANK YOU for all of your posts! I loved the treadmill picture. I also find the treadmill boring but living in Alberta the roads are too slippery for walking outside right now. I have watched many series on netflix while on the treadmill and ex. bike! I have lost 45 pounds on weight watchers but have been at a standstill for a year or so. I really want to get the last 25 off but I am proud of myself for how far I have come. I also love your pictures of food as they give me lots of ideas. Pancakes tomorrow I think:) I like how you have a busy social life but keep your goals in mind throughout, and you seem to fit wine into your plan:) Keep it up!

  4. Hello Jules, I too am struggling with the program but decided to try Simple Start and see if that kick starts my weightloss again. I love your posts, they help to keep me going.

    Cheers,
