January Challenge, Day 7

Have you ever had or even heard of a Pour Over Cup of coffee?? Well, I hadn’t heard of it, and I hadn’t had it. Yesterday morning I met a friend at a coffee shop. It was the coffee shop of all coffee shops too! Super cute, and lots of different ways to order your coffee! When we get together during the week, we usually meet at the park and walk, but it was 50 below zero, so we had coffee instead. She asked me if I had ever had a pour over, and when I said…”a what?”, she insisted on me ordering one and watching the barista make it. So I did.

Truly…..the best cup of coffee that I have ever had! Smooth, strong but not bitter, and so delicious. I can’t wait for my next Pour Over cup of coffee!

My afternoon was much less exciting and involved a trip to Costco to purchase a humidifier. Our house is a big static mess! We have a humidifier on the furnace, but I can’t tell at all. Hopefully, my new little toy will make a difference. My hair has had so much static that I’ve had to wear it in a ponytail for two weeks, and I swear every time I touch Mike or one of the dogs, it’s a big light show! I’m crossing my fingers.

I went to Book Club last night, where most of the evening is typically spent catching up with friends, drinking wine and snacking. I removed myself from the food area, which felt odd at first, because that’s literally where everyone was standing. I took hot tea with me to drink, and passed on the wine, and eventually we all moved into another room and discussed our books, which we rarely do!  It felt good to come home knowing that I had stuck with my hot tea and only ate from the fruit platter.
