Shoulder Update…

I went to the Dr. Thursday afternoon. The short story is……my right shoulder discomfort is all completely normal and my collarbone is healing nicely. I can move it however I would like to now, as long as it doesn’t hurt.

Six more weeks before any Yoga.

The doctor said while I’m walking, try to swing my arms now that I can, and see if that will help to avoid the muscle cramping that I was having in my back and neck while taking walks. (I was also wearing my sling wrong, which I assumed.) I took a nice 2 mile walk on Thursday afternoon, swung those arms, and everything felt great!

The Dr. does however, want an MRI of my left shoulder, and he say’s that he can feel swelling in it, but does NOT think it is rotator cuff related. That’s good news. I would just like to be Shoulder Pain Free!

Thursday’s walk wasn’t fast, but it felt great and I am so thankful for the sunny day’s that we’ve had!

Friday, after my WW meeting, I had lunch with an old High School friend, and it was great catching up! She introduced me to an awesome salad at the Corner Cafe!

Friday evening, I played chauffeur to my two nieces, and we enjoyed sitting outside and having a couple of beers. We were together from 4:00 – 10:30, and in that time, I only had two beers, so while I’m not doing such a great job of only drinking one time per month, I’m definitely doing a better job off practicing moderation! I drank a TON of water too!

Saturday, I met a friend for brunch, then enjoyed a nap in a lounge chair in my backyard (while listening to the Beach Boys…..I’m in Staycation mode…) in the sunshine, then headed out the door with Tucker for a walk. While I was on my walk, I decided to start running! What? I know. I hadn’t done that in a while, and I hadn’t even walked at much of a pace since I broke my collarbone. Since the doc gave me “the go” to do whatever felt good, I decided to give a little run a try. I only ran a mile, but not really being a runner, and never running more than a 5K, I’d say it was a pretty darned successful Saturday afternoon!

My daughter and I are participating in The Color Run the last week in March in Dallas, and I wasn’t sure if I’d be running it or walking it, but I’d really like to be able to run it with her. Our very first 5K together, was The Color Run last year in Dallas, so it would mean a lot to both of us to be able to run it with her again.

Sidenote: She is kicking some butt in the Healthy Living Department for the last 3 months and she is loving the way she feels and I am so happy for her! 🙂

I missed a few day’s blogging, but I’ve tracked everything that I’ve had to eat!

I hope you’re having a great Sunday!
