I’m Seeking Patience

Basically, I ate crappy on Monday and Tuesday. Yesterday was much better. Today will be great! I’m having issues with my blog. In order to move forward on my blog, I need to update it. Before I update it, I need to back it up. I know how to do neither of these two things. I’m looking into some “blogging guidance” to get me through some of the issues I’m running into lately, so bare with me, please. I also see now that I am not seeing when you wonderful readers comment on my blog. I love the interaction with you all, so hopefully I can figure out why I’m not seeing your comments! Please continue to comment, and I’ll get it all figured out and get caught up in replying to you! Have a Happy and Healthy Day! “love the life you live, live the life you love”

The Perfect Day

It was the perfect Mother’s Day yesterday! My mom came out for coffee, then our kids (except for Tess in Dallas…so sad) and grandkids came over for dinner. We played games, chatted and had the perfect evening. I did all the cooking, but sometimes, I like it that way. I made Pioneer Woman’s Baked BBQ Chicken Thighs and a Mexican Pasta Salad. I loved dinner. Eating more this weekend than I was hoping too, but really did have an awesome day yesterday! These are two of my favorite pictures! We played Hedbanz, because….well, why wouldn’t you?   She insisted on squeezing everyones nose as a handle each time she changed out the game cards. She’s a mess.   Breakfast Blueberry Breakfast Cake 9 PPV   Lunch Open Faced Egg White Sandwich Jack Cheese 8 PPV   Dinner Two Beers Mexican Macaroni Salad BBQ Chicken Thighs  Fruit 25 PPV   Weight […]

Happy Mother’s Day!

I started off my Saturday with Hot Yoga, which was a great way to get in a good healthy mind set for the day. I ate breakfast at home, then went to a graduation party that was filled with all sorts of my favorite foods! It was a Brunch party and all of the food looked so good! Pancakes cooked as you waited, tons of toppings for the pancakes, biscuits and gravy, bagels, fruit and mini quiches are just a few of the things that I saw. I tried to avoid the food table. I did end up having a small Mimosa and One Mini Quiche. Not too bad I thought. I went home and made myself a big spinach salad before heading out for the rest of the afternoon. We had a family dinner at a BBQ place last night, and they had very few low point options to chose from. […]

Staring the day off right!

I feel like I had a great and healthy week this week and now I’m ready for another one! I started my weekend off with an 8:00 am Hot Yoga class this morning. Now I’m planning for the rest of the weekend filled with errands, Grad Parties, a going away party (BBQ) tonight for my brother, and Mother’s Day tomorrow. Lot’s of food challenges this weekend and I’m feeling prepared to face the challenges! Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow to all of you moms! Here are yesterday’s eats…… Breakfast 3 Egg Whites, 14 g Cheese, Salsa Black Coffee 3 PPV   Snack 2 Apples 0 PPV I took 2 apples to eat at the food truck before I ate my lunch, and this really worked out well for me all week!   Lunch Pork Taco, No Tortilla 10 PPV   Snack Un-Pictured Red Wine, Cashews 16 PPV   Dinner Salad topped with Chicken […]

Sometimes….it’s all in the planning

Have you ever packed a snack to go, then left the house without it? I have such good intentions sometimes, but this is something I’ve done often. I’m trying to eat breakfast just a little bit later, and pack a snack to have with me around noon so I don’t eat too many points for lunch while I’m working at the Food Truck. I know this is a good idea for me, and when I remember to take my snack with me, it’s a successful plan! Yesterday, I peeled an orange and cut up an apple so I would have a snack to take with me when I left the house. As I put it back in the fridge, I thought….I know I’m going to forget to take that with me when I leave. So I put my car keys in the fridge.   Yes, I did panic for two […]

Lovin’ Jazz

I’ve made it to Jazzercise two day’s in a row and if I haven’t made it clear yet, I’m really loving’ Jazz, Jazzercise that is. I really do like an exercise class environment and I’ve been there long enough now, that most of the steps are beginning to make sense and I don’t feel like such an idiot, and that’s alway a nice feeling. The no idiot thing. I was successful at not over doing it while working at the Food Truck yesterday. Yay! I’m working there again today and tomorrow. Again, I followed my own advice and ate breakfast right before leaving the house just before 10:00, and I took two apples to eat when the smell of the burgers cooking got my taste buds all worked up! I ate my apples, and had one pork taco with no tortilla, so I had lunch at the Food Truck without […]

A Little Busy, a Little Fun

Sunday’s top to bottom cleaning and painting of the laundry room turned into a full on cleaning frenzy on Monday! The house feels fresh and clean! We did however discover that our 16 year old A/C unit finally does need to be replaced! At least we found that out in the first week of May vs. the middle of August! Tuesday was a full day of appointments. One at 9:00, one at 10:30, and one at 2;00. After a busy day, I met a friend at 4:30 for Jazzercise, then we did a little Cinco De Mayo dinner with some friends at a nearby Mexican Restaurant. I hope you all are having a great week! Here are the eats for the last two days…….. Breakfast Egg Roll 5 PPV   I forgot how much I love these!     Lunch Turkey Burger, 1/2 Light English Muffin 7 g Cheese, 30 g […]

Laundry Room Update

Before the Laundry Room fun, Mike and I had a party to go to yesterday. Several of our friends have high school seniors this year, so there are lots of graduation parties on the calendar this month! Yesterday was a combined party of five graduates with friends and family. I thought it was a great idea to combine the parties and the venue, along with the food, was awesome! Along with some great BBQ, beer and wine were offered. Mike and I went through the food line and before reaching the bar, Mike handed me a bottle of water? Whatever…….I’ll get a beer after we eat. Well, I can say that I had no alcoholic beverages yesterday. The graduates did a great job of mingling with the guest. It was great to see so many friends that we hadn’t seen in forever and Mike and I got so busy chatting, […]

Apparently, Life is just one big Party!!

Well, it’s Sunday, and the weekend has just been one big party in my mouth and belly, and the party will likely show up on my thighs and butt by Wednesday. The beautiful weather has made it just too hard for me to say no to beverages. I’m not beating myself up right now, because honestly, I’ve had a great weekend and lot’s of fun, and what’s the point of beating myself up? I’m sure by Wednesday, I’ll be irritated with myself. The last two day’s have been the strangest food day’s that I’ve had in a long time. I worked at the Food Truck on Friday, so I ate a big breakfast right before leaving the house for the day. We were swamped at the Food Truck, so none of us ever did take the time to eat. When we closed up, we were all starving, and one of […]

Shopping Day at Mom’s House

I went to visit my mom for a little while yesterday afternoon, and she noticed I was wearing a bracelet that she had given me years ago. It originally belonged to my Great Aunt, who passed away many years ago. She was one of those ladies that you would describe as a “real character” and I adored her. I remember always looking at the bracelet and playing with it when my aunt wore it. It’s a charm bracelet, and every charm has a great story. I wear it when I’m feeling a little ornery.  The bracelet reminded my mom of some more jewelry that she was ready to pass down. I’m the only daughter. 🙂 My grandma (who passed a few years ago, and was also a real hoot!) and my Great Aunt (they lived next door to each other!) had a lot of great jewelry and I always remember as a […]
