Kitchen Chaos….

Wednesday I told you all about my new Home Gym. I used it yesterday and I think I love it!

Today I am going to list all of the things that happened in the kitchen on Tuesday night.

My plan was to cook a meatloaf for dinner, and while that was in the oven, I was going to grill Chicken Breast and Turkey Burgers on my gas grill to make dinner for the rest of the week a cinch.

  • My light bulb in the kitchen, that is the closest to the stove, burnt out, and we were out of all light bulbs. Not a big deal, but just the start. (I can barely cook without my reading glasses and all of the lights on!)
  • It was really windy, so I rolled the gas grill right up to the door so I could basically stand inside, and grill out. Not kidding.
  • While looking up the Turkey Burger recipe on my phone that I really like, my phone died.
  • I grabbed my computer to look it up, only to find that that persons website no longer existed! What?? Basically, she adds 1 T of Olive Oil to one pound of ground 93% lean Turkey, but I liked her seasonings too.
  • When I went to flip the chicken breast, the grill was out. I thought it was the wind. Nope. Out of propane.
  • I finished cooking the chicken, 3 breast at a time, inside on the grill pan. I had 6 Chicken Breast to cook and four Turkey Burgers.
  • The water boiled over in the pot that I was cooking my cauliflower in while I was discovering the grill had gone out.
  • I also found it necessary to text/snapchat (with my phone plugged into the charger) while this was happening, which added to my multi tasking, which I can be terrible at.
  • After I had cooked everything, and removed the meatloaf from the oven, I realized that two of the chicken breast were not fully cooked.
  • Olive Oil splatted all over my kitchen floor while using the grill pan, and I tracked it all over the kitchen.
  • The dogs loved the fact that the floor was smelly and slippery and were under my feet through all of this.
  • What was going to be a simple prep evening in the kitchen turned into a long cleaning night!
  • When we went into the living room to relax for the rest of the evening, I turned on the lamp, and it flashed and burnt out.
  • My house smelled gross on Wednesday morning, which is why I prefer to not use my grill pan for cooking meat.

The Meatloaf tasted great, I threw away two of the chicken breast and I froze the remaining ones along with the Turkey Burgers, which I hope taste fine.

Maybe I’ll buy lightbulbs today.

Anyone else have chaos recently in the kitchen??

Here are yesterday’s eats….

Breakfast – 8 SP

Leftover Asparagus, Sweet Potato and Red Onion topped with two Eggs.

Lunch – 6 SP

I made a large portion of Turkey Sweet Potato Chili a few weeks ago and I froze a lot of it in individual portion sizes. I think this tasted better than it did the day that I made it!

Snack – 2 SP

Banana slices and Blueberries topped with 2 tsp of Almond Butter

Dinner – 5 SP

Turkey Spaghetti over Spaghetti Squash topped with One Tablespoon Parmesan Cheese.

I have only had cheese a couple of times since we did the Whole30 in October, and I surprisingly haven’t missed it that much, but last night I really wanted some Parm on my spaghetti. I love this meal, and I hadn’t made it in a while.

  1. I did try to do a search and got the same result. 🙁

Lesson for me? If I find a recipe that I really like, I need to write in down in recipe book. Old School!

    🙂

  2. I have found lost recipes from closed blogs by doing a search on the web. So many people post recipes that I find it easier to find a weight watcher recipe on line instead of their site.
