Fingers and Toes

My heels are an inherited disaster, as are my toenails.Yesterday, I decided to get a manicure and a pedicure, something I rarely do. I get restless during a manicure, and I’m a big wuss when it comes to a pedicure. I’ve never really liked it. I wince and whine through pretty much the whole thing. The clipping, the digging, the filing, the hot towel, all of it. Wuss I say. I like the massage part, and that’s about it. During the massage part, I told her I’d pay extra for an another 5 minutes of massaging. She did it too! So I like that part. Well, and the end result always looks and feels nice.

I’m glad I went. I even got a little heart. Lea did my toes while Maria did my hands. I’m going back in two weeks.

More Sweet Potatoes at dinner. I made these little Meatloaf Cups that set in a sweet potato crust.

You lay thinly sliced sweet potato in muffin cups and bake them. Then you fill them with meat and bake some more. Uh…yes please.

  1. I still want to work for them too! Maybe we can work towards that goal together this year!?!?

You crack me up that you “checked back into weight watcher meeting”

Here is to a great week for us both!

  2. Yes, have had the sweet potato sandwich and love it! We had a great vacation and now back to reality. Argh!! I checked myself back into weight watcher meetings ) kinda like checking into rehab , lol!) . Yikes!!! I still have the secret goal of wanting to work for them someday, and I want to always remember how much courage it takes to come back like a prodigal daughter and step on those scale’s! 😉 my weigh in is on Mondays and I was so much over, I purchased the three month pass – thinking That it will take me at least that long to get back to free lifetime. I’m anxious for next Monday, to see the results of my first week on the new program! Can’t wait to hear about your vacation.

  3. Now WE have got to get back into the swing of things. Are you there yet? I feel like it might take a few days of getting used to not snacking all dang day!

Have you had a Sweet Potato Sandwich yet??

  4. i pinned your sweet pot sand – can’t wait to get back into the swing of things, ie working – not vacationing (lol), rest up this weekend, and get some serious grocery shopping done – the ingredients for these will be on my list! they look SOOO good!

  5. I am so glad that you liked it! Several people have told me that they’ve made it and everyone seems to like it. Yay! I don’t have a ton of recipes, and they are certainly nothing fancy, but it’s fun to hear that people are making the Turkey Sweet Potato Chili and that they like it!

Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to comment. That always makes my day.

Have a great weekend! I hope your parents like the chili too!

    Julie

  6. Julie,
I just made your sweet potato turkey chili recipe and it was so good! I’m going to make another batch for my parents. I just love seeing all your photos. You are a great inspiration.
