A Latte Kinda Morning

I’ve mentioned recently that my niece is staying with us for a few months. Yesterday, she had the day off and her and I had planned to have lunch together. It was so blah and rainy and cold, we decided that breakfast food and coffee sounded really good. After a morning at home getting a few things done, we put on our Uggs and sweaters and headed out for some yummy food. This weather is dumb.

I picked where we went to eat because they have the Best Latte Ever! Not sure what they do different, but the milk is always extra creamy and they just taste perfect! Since we are eating mostly Paleo now, I don’t buy milk and I rarely have a latte, so this was a real treat!

She got Mocha. I got Vanilla.

After our Latte’s, a tasty breakfast, additional cups of black coffee and a really good long chat, we were back home.

I recently ordered some outdoor furniture and it arrived yesterday! What I wasn’t expecting was so much time assembling. Ugh! I put half of it together yesterday in spurts. All that bending over had my back killing me.

My daughter, Tess, and her boyfriend, Manuel, are coming in tomorrow from Dallas for a long weekend and I’m hoping to spend some time on the deck enjoying them while sitting on the new furniture, so I’ll finish my assembly today.

I also walked 3 miles with a girlfriend, then 2 miles with Tucker man.

I know me, and I get distracted easily, so it’ll be a bit of a challenge to get miles in this weekend simply because I’ll want to spend as much time with Tess and Manuel as possible. Hopefully, I’ll get those two out there with me and I won’t fall behind in my walking challenge.

I still need new shoes!! I can feel it in my feet and in my hips. When I start to feel it in my hips, I know it’s time, even if my shoes don’t look so bad. Make sure you are wearing good walking shoes! Your body will thank you! Your body will also be mad at you if you don’t.

I’ve been really wiped out these last three nights. Mike was running a little behind last night, so I made his dinner, set it in the fridge, and filled up the bathtub. I was in there for over an hour! It felt so good I almost fell asleep! I like to just sit in the tub and soak forever, then take a shower. So, I did. I took a long hot shower. You could say I was relaxed when I climbed into bed last night.

I’ve been eating bigger meals, and not eating so often. That is so unlike me. I’m more of a “four small meals a day” kinda person.

Anywho….Here are yesterday’s eats…

Breakfast – 0 SP

Un-Pictured Black Coffee and a Banana

Early Lunch – 20 SP

Large Skinny Vanilla Latte. I hadn’t had one in a really really long time, and it was perfection!

Breakfast Taco’s with Corn Tortilla’s, Potatoes and Avocado. I ordered these with no cheese and I didn’t eat the sour cream. I ate half of the potatoes. I drank the whole Latte and it was so creamy and good! I wanna go back today!

Dinner – 4 SP

Leftover Turkey Spaghetti with Spaghetti Squash. This was mostly squash and I added more tomato sauce. It was a little blah, so I added Nutritional Yeast. Have you had it? A lot of Paleo people use it in place of cheese, so I thought that I would try it. I was a little hesitant, so I didn’t use much. I couldn’t really taste it. I’ll try it again and let you know my thoughts.

I also had a few blueberries and blackberries, then headed to the tub.

  1. Thank you! Good to know! Okay, I’ll give it a try again and see what I think.

I like the extra health benefits too!

Thanks again and have a great day!

  2. I simply sprinkle it on top of my vegetables, eggs and salads once they are on my plate. Not in the dish itself. Around one Tablespoon.. I guess I use it like I would romano or parm cheese. I started using it on a recommendation of a friend who is vegetarian. (I am not). It gives you a boost of B12, fiber and extra protein.

  3. Ahhh…..a nice hot creamy Latte. You know I used to have my frothy coffee’s every morning, so that Latte was awesome!!

Sounds like you were worn out!! Hope you are feeling rested today. I just had night “four” in a row of being wiped out. I’m wondering if I’m missing something in my diet this week?

You rest up and have a great weekend Ronda!!

  4. I would love to have some ideas for how to eat it. I’m sure it’s one of those new foods that after I figure out exactly what to do with it, I’ll love it.

Can you tell me what all you eat it on? Do you top dishes with it, or mix it in casseroles? Both?

If you top a dish with it, how much would you use?

Tell me everything about this stuff!!

    🙂

  5. I 😍 Lattes a latte!!! I don’t get them often so they are a treat for me too! I was wiped last night too – feel asleep in my big brown chair then woke up and went to bed – at that time it was 7:30!!! I then woke up and thought I had sleep the whole night as I had been sleeping so soundly – looked at the clock and it was 9:30 – I was awake just long enough to have the thought “most people are still up at this time” – I fell immediately back to sleep until that blessed 4:30 am alarm !

  6. Oh I LOVE nutritional yeast. I buy Braggs and I can really taste it. I hope you feel better today. Have a great weekend and good luck with the furniture assembly.
