Long Day, Busy Day

April 26, 2017

Yesterday was a really long day.

I woke up early, did stuff (you know how I do) then headed out to work.

My At Work WW Group continues to kick butt and continues to remind me just how much I love this job, the people that I have the opportunity to meet and all of the satisfaction that comes with this job. Best part of my week is this Tuesday meeting!

Every other Tuesday, after working my WW meeting, I have been going to visit my mom’s cousin at the nursing home. If you’ve been reading for a while, then you know that February was a full month of moving my mom’s cousin out of her apartment and into a nursing home. It was a really tough month and being her P.O.A., and my mom and myself being her only relatives, we had several decisions to make.

So far things have been going fairly well. Let’s just say that the last two visits have been a bit more tense and I have left feeling guilty and stressed as a result of some of the decisions that needed to be made back in February.

My mom went with me yesterday and after we left the nursing home, I suggested a coffee. The nursing home is in Baldwin, Kansas, (about 45 minutes away) home of Baker University and the little town is super cute.

I found this adorable little coffee shop when I went by myself two weeks ago and decided to take mom to it yesterday.

Cute, huh?

We got home late in the afternoon and I still needed groceries, had two more errands to run, and I had to pay bills. Ugh!!

Well, I got it all done.

While I was working away at my desk, Mike was making holes in the wall. He sure does have a lot of ideas lately.

As I sat down last night to relax, I noticed that Tess, my daughter, had posted to her new blog. I love this blog post!

Check out Sippin’ On Gym & Juice!

All that busy work yesterday and only 6,724 steps!

Breakfast and Dinner yesterday were delicious!

Have a great day today!

Breakfast – 7 SP

Oatmeal Bowl smothered in Warm Blueberries (I put one cup of frozen Wild Blueberries in the microwave for about 2 minutes. They are so sweet!) and 1 T. of Trader Joe’s Nut Butter.

It’s like a big Oatmeal Cookie!

Lunch – 10 SP

This was a hodge podge of leftovers.

Tuna Salad, Leftover Chicken Skewers, Celery.

I still needed a little something.

Snack – 2 SP

Iced Coffee with Premier Protein for the road!

Snack – 8 SP

While visiting with Carole in Admissions at the nursing home about some paperwork, home made ice cream was being delivered to each office! They were so polite and after I said “No Thank You” twice, I ended up with a bowl of Ice Cream in front of me.

It was a small bowl, likely a half of cup, so that was good, but that was also a huge portion of my dinner points!

Dinner – 7 SP

Honey + Mustard + Mayo = Delicious over a bed of Mixed Greens, Sliced Almonds, Rotisserie Chicken and Grapes.

I used only a T of the dressing. This was not what I had planned for dinner, but it was really good!

I Love an Outside Day

April 25, 2017

Yesterday was beautiful outside and I wanted to enjoy it as much as I could.

My morning started with coffee on the deck and watching the pups lay in the sun.

Next, I brought my breakfast out and enjoyed the sun myself just a tad longer.

I eventually brought my computer out and ended up spending the entire morning on the deck enjoying more coffee and catching up on emails. It really was the perfect morning.

I met up for a walk with Becky at around noon and we ended up walking almost 7 miles!

I’d say that I ended my day with a good amount of steps!

After our nice long walk, I had lunch on my deck. I just had no desire to be in the house with all of that sunny sunniness outside!

After I worked at a WW meeting, Mike and I met for dinner. We did NOT eat out on the patio and I have no idea why?

Today? More deck and patio meals. I can just feel it!

I had one of those really good days yesterday. I certainly hope that you did too.

Breakfast – 3 SP

Big Ass Waffle covered in berries and banana slices and and black coffee.

Lunch – 12 SP

Tuna Salad on a bed of greens and drizzled with Lemon Infused Olive Oil. Roasted Plantains on the side for crunch and fruit for something sweet to finish it off.

The lemon Infused Olive Oil on this was so good. I’m not sure why I’d never thought to do that before.

Snack – 2 SP

One cup of black coffee poured over ice, then I added a Premier Protein Vanilla to it. I poured this into my largest Yeti cup and headed out the door to work a WW meeting.

Dinner – 12 SP

Since I never did make it to the grocery store, Mike and I met for dinner at our little neighborhood spot.

One glass of Wine and Hawaiian Chicken Skewers with Steamed Broccoli.

I usually order the lunch portion, but I ordered the dinner portion. Now I have lunch for today!

Growth and Opportunities

April 24, 2017

I have lived in the same city for my entire life and so has my husband. Neither of us has ever had a job to take us away, and I suppose that neither of us has ever had the desire to move away.

Both of our parents live here too and I would imagine that we will always call Kansas our home. (Unless of course, one of the kids ends up on a beach somewhere and begs us to move closer to them. Then…maybe.)

Tess was the first of our four children to move when she took her job with Southwest Airlines in Dallas a few years ago. We have handled the move well and we are able to take advantage of free flights and get to see each other fairly often.

One of our other daughters, Anne, and her husband moved to Oklahoma this weekend. Her husband accepted a job, they sold their house, and everything just kind of fell together in these last few weeks.

Mike and I drove down to help unload the moving truck on Saturday. Along with our two grandkids, (who were so good and worked so hard) Anne’s mother and father in law, and sister in law and her husband were there to hep too. We had 8 adults and two kids to do some serious unpacking!

They found a brand new house that would allow them to rent with an option to buy and it is SUPER cute!

The whole house is painted with light grey walls and a darker grey on the doors and trim, so you know that I was in LOVE with it!

Oh, we also had a baby helping us out! That is Anne’s 10 month old niece helping us out too! Adorable.

The grand kids seemed to like that we were there and it was nice to be able to help them set up their beds and see what they thought about their new house, new bedrooms and moving in general.

We took air mattresses and pillows and we all slept over. Anne tucking her dad in on the couch!

I love the floor plan and the master closet is every girls dream.

On Sunday we were able to get all sorts of things done, have a late lunch together, then hit the road for the short 3 1/2 hour drive home.

We are so happy for Anne and her husband and the two kids, but know it will be a huge adjustment for all of them. She is due with baby number three in August!

It will be a bit of an adjustment for our other daughter Kate and her kids too. They shared a backyard fence with Anne and the kids played together all the time. Kate took 3 year old Char over to see Aunt Anne’s empty house last night and I guess it really did a number on her. I would imagine that is really hard for a three year old to comprehend?

I’m sure that all will be fine and the move will be great for Anne and her family, but it will be an adjustment for many for certain.

The good news is, they now basically live between us and Tess, so we’re thinking of planning trips to all meet at Anne’s house for a great big family sleep over!

I packed snacks for the drive down. We worked at unloading until finally stopping and going to dinner around 9:00 pm. We went to Red Robin and while there were salad options, I was craving a burger, so I went for it.

Sunday I woke up early and went to the store. We hadn’t unpacked the coffee pot or any kitchen items yet, so I grabbed lots of fruit, mini bagels, granola bars and coffee creamer at Walmart, then went to Starbucks and ordered 8 cups of black coffee. It seemed to be perfect and we all got started working shortly after.

Late in the afternoon, we had the house in pretty good shape and we all went out for Mexican food. It was now after 2:00 and I think everyone was done.

I ordered Chicken Taco’s on Corn Tortilla’s and ate WAY too many chips.

After a late lunch, we all said goodbye in the parking lot. Anne’s husband was going back to the new house and Anne and the kids were coming back to stay with her in laws for a few weeks so the kids can finish up school.

It was a great weekend and we are happy for them to be able to take on some new opportunities,

Okay, that’s my weekend update!

I’ve got some steps to get in and some grocery shopping to do! I hope that you all had a great weekend!

Happy Monday!

Craft Day!

April 22, 2017

Making this a quick post!

After a stroll down every single isle in Hobby Lobby yesterday while sipping on hot coffee on a cloudy day, I came home and made this.

I cleaned the dirt out of these mason jars that previously had herbs in them. I was going to replant herbs, but I couldn’t stop thinking about a centerpiece.

I looked at a few ideas on Pinterest, then bought moss, crocheted ribbon and a few flowers. The rest are items that I had at home.

I think I like it!

For now anyhow.

Later in the afternoon, I met one of my WW co-workers and some of her friends to celebrate her birthday.

Can you think of a better card from one WW member to another???

A few beers and some Edamame with the girls, dinner at home, then to our friends for some WII Bowling. ALWAYS FUN!

I will add here that the low point options on the menu where I had beers with friends was very limited when it came to low point options. I ordered the Edamame and whatever they put on it was just too spicy for me to enjoy.

Mike and I ate dinner at home, whatever leftovers we could find.

We went to our friends for the evening, and when the bags of chips came out in round two of WII, I had ZERO!! I knew if I got started that I wouldn’t stop. So, I had my beers, counted my points, and went to bed very pleased with my choices. It just makes it that much easier the next day.

Today will be a challenge, but I’ll fill you in on that later.

Breakfast – 9 SP

Veggie, Laughing Cow Cheese and Egg White Breakfast Burrito’s with a nice side of Smashed Avocado and berries.

Snack – 12 SP

A few of these SPICY Edamame with parmesan and two beers.

Dinner – 8 SP

Salad at home.

Bowling Beers – 10 SP

A Full Day at Home

April 21, 2017

I work an early WW meeting on Thursday as a receptionist and then I am typically home by 9:00 am. Yesterday Mike was gone all day (he works mostly from home) and had plans for a golf game late in the day. I had the house to myself all day so you know I made a big “to do list” and attacked it.

A friend stopped by as I was thinking about breakfast and was at my house until after noon, so breakfast was lunch. We had a great chat, so i didn’t mind at all, I was just starving!

I spent the rest of the afternoon planning my Ebay sale. I’ve never done that before but I have a few things that I think I should put on Ebay rather than in a garage sale. One thing led to another and I ended up melting the last of the wax in a gazillion candles and washing out the jars to use for something clever. I don’t know what yet…..

Pinterest, I might be looking at you today. The house smelled amazing.

Then I cleaned out the mason jars that I got as a gift with herbs in them last year for Mother’s Day. I have an idea for a center piece for these. Hobby Lobby? I might be visiting you today.

did NOT take any long walks yesterday, but I do think that walking is one of the best things for Plantar Fasciitis and that driving and sitting and sleeping are the absolute WORST things for it.

I am having fun watching my FitPoints rack up on my WW app!

Yesterday’s eats…

Lunch – 6 SP

I had a busy morning and I didn’t have anything to eat until 12:30. I was a tad irritated with myself for poor planning and eating so late, but on the other hand I was thinking about all of the points I had for a snack later or a big dinner!

Big Ass Waffle topped with Warm Blueberries and 1 T. of my new Trader Joe’s Nut  Butter.

For the blueberries, I put one cup of frozen wild blueberries in a bowl and microwave for about 2 minutes. That’s it. Just Blueberries. So good!

Snack – 2 SP

1 Whole Wheat Low Carb Tortilla with Turkey

Snack – 2 SP

10 of these Roasted Plantains from Trader Joe’s.

Dinner – 15 SP

Portabella Mushroom Cheeseburger and a pile of (150g) Sweet Potato Fries!

I sprayed the Mushroom Caps with Olive Oil and sprinkled with Sea Salt. Bake at 425 for 20 minutes. Thanks for this idea Becky!

I sliced a Sweet Potato thin, laid on Parchment paper, sprayed both sides with cooking spray and season salt and baked those along with the mushroom caps.

I grilled a 6 ounce 90%/10% Beef burger outside while the oven did it’s thing inside. I topped that with one slice of Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar.

Dinner was just as good as I hoped that it would be.

“love the life you live, live the life you love”

Isn’t she the cutest? She has had such a successful year on Weight Watchers and what an inspiration! You can follow her journey on Instagram at gimmiesomebites.

I was working a WW meeting several weeks ago when Lindsey came up to me and asked me if I was Julie from The Weight of my Weight. We had been following each other on Instagram but had never met. I was so glad that she introduced herself!

We have been trying to get together and walk and it finally happened yesterday. We walked and talked for about two hours! (I could have talked to her forever.) Lindsey has a Fitbit too, and let me just say that we got some steps in yesterday! We had a great chat and I feel like I’ve known her forever. I’m looking forward to many more steps with Lindsey.

And……Lindsey is also a beer lover! We chatted about our favorite places to have a beer. I’m looking forward to checking out some of her trendy spots and I hope that she will join me!

I’m certain we will meet up again, whether to walk or to sip a cold one, or both!

I hit my goal of 12,000 steps yesterday and got a few extra too!

Yes. I am enjoying my Fitbit.

After our walk, I stopped in Trader Joe’s. You know they always have samples. Yesterday it was this bag of salad. I had stopped buying salads in bags and started making my own salads a long time ago, but when I tasted this one, I decided this was dinner. I was impressed with the list of ingredients, and 1/4 of the bag was only 6 SmartPoints. Now I needed some protein to add to it!

I found this package of Chicken, and again, very simple ingredients, so now I had dinner.

I also picked up this Nut Butter! The only ingredients are a variety of Nuts and Sea Salt.

For an after dinner snack, I drizzled it on these gigantic Blackberries.

As I was writing this blog post, I realized that I had Nut Butter at all three meals yesterday. Guess I was craving nuts!!

Breakfast – 6 SP

Egg White Omelet filled with veggies, topped with Avocado, Fruit and 1 T. Almond Butter before heading out to work the Food Truck.

Snack – 8 SP

We messed up an order at the food truck and ended up with an extra pork taco, so two of us split it. I am guessing on points. I also had two big bites of mac and cheese and the apple that I brought from home.

Lunch – 6 SP

A variety plate for a late lunch.

Celery and Almond Butter. Celery and Hummus. Leftover Asparagus. Fruit.

As I was eating, I was browsing Instagram and saw someone eating a Banana and Almond Butter wrap, so I grabbed one of my 1 SmartPoint tortilla’s and filled it up with Banana Slices, Strawberry slices and my Almond Butter. Yummmmm.

Dinner – 7 SP

Trader Joe’s dinner of a Southwest Salad with Chicken

Dessert – 3 SP

Blackberries with 1 T. Almond Butter

Steps and Scampi

April 19, 2017

I hadn’t taken a long walk with Becky in a while, but that changed yesterday. We didn’t go at a super fast pace, but we did get in a long walk. Look where that walk put me for my steps at the end of the day!

Yay. Over 15,000!

Fitbit was very happy for me!

Needless to say, I had some aching feet before getting into bed last night but it felt good to get in a long walk.

I have a walking date scheduled this afternoon with someone that I met via Instagram. I was working a WW meeting several weeks ago, and she came up to me and asked me if I was Julie from The Weight of my Weight. She said she thought I looked like her. I was so glad that she said something! Since then, we have been texting back and forth and trying to plan a walking date. I hope she isn’t a speed walker!

I have been trying to mix up the dinner menu just a tad. Last nights dinner was Shrimp Scampi. I’ve made this before and served it over Spaghetti Squash and we both really liked it. I put the squash in the oven and started dinner.

I Googled Shrimp Scampi recipes, looked at four or five, then made up my own recipe based on the suggested measurements in the recipe and based on what I had on hand. I do that for a lot of recipes when I feel like I know the basics, but question my measurements. This is such an easy meal to make. Olive Oil, Garlic, Shrimp (I used frozen), Broth (or Wine), Lemon and Parsley are the main ingredients. The only ingredient I really had to buy was the parsley.

For a side, I made the purple asparagus that I picked up at the city market on Saturday.

The vendor told me that it was great to eat raw, that it was sweeter than green asparagus and that if I cooked it, it would turn green!

It did!

I ate a banana yesterday for breakfast and I ate 3 SmartPoints for lunch, so I had all sorts of points left for dinner.

I never buy pasta anymore, (because I truly love Spaghetti Squash!) but it sounded so good with the scampi and I knew I had plenty of points to work it in. I found a little box of Orzo in the pantry!

I was also able to work in a beer after dinner with my friend that lives across the street. It was a pretty darned good day.

I hope you’re having a spectacular week!

Breakfast – 0 SP

Banana on the go!

Lunch – 3 SP

One Whole Wheat Low Carb Tortilla, 10 g cooked Center Cut Bacon, 5 Scrambled Egg Whites

Rolled it all up! 27 grams of Protein in this little 3 SmartPoints lunch.

Snack – 1 SP

I had kind of steered clear of dairy for awhile, but it doesn’t seem to bother my stomach, and in an effort to up my protein a bit, I’ve added a few dairy items back in.

This is one Scoop of Quest Vanilla Milkshake Protein Powder, 8 ounces of cold water and a hand full of ice cubes in the blender.

This 1 SmartPoint snack is 22 grams of protein!

I pulled a beer mug out of the freezer and it was the perfect snack after my long walk outside.

Dinner – 24 SP

Shrimp Scampi (6 SP) over Orzo (100g = 11 SP) with a side of Asparagus with Parmesan (2 SP)  and an un-pictured Beer (5 SP)

Mike kept saying, “Now what all is in here?” Yep, it was that good!

I’m feeling a great day ahead. How about you??

“love the life you live, live the life you love”

I woke up wanting to feel thirty something, so I chose my t-shirt wisely. Maybe I’m three. I don’t know. Mickey just makes me feel young. I say, “Whatever works, do that”.

Tucker and I headed to the park. Just saying “I’m going to the park”, makes me feel young.

The weather made it a great park morning.

This Bat House is on the walking trail. Why on earth would I disturb the bats?? I actually picked up my pace as I walked by the bat house.

After the park, I decided to make dinner early and have it ready for later. I was playing with a Shepherds Pie. I do not have a recipe, and I’m fairly certain that I make it different every time.

Sauté Celery, Carrots, Onions and Garlic in Olive Oil, add salt and pepper, then add Beef or Turkey and cook through. Next, add Tomato Paste and Broth of your choice and simmer. Top with Mashed Potatoes, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, or Whipped Cauliflower and stick under the broiler for a few minutes. That’s it. That’s the recipe.

Yesterday, for whatever reason, I decided to do some with Whipped Cauliflower and some with Mashed Sweet Potatoes.

My Cauliflower wasn’t as smooth as I like it. I’m not sure what I did different. It was almost gritty? I decided that it had the exact texture of grits, and wouldn’t grits taste great on a shepherds pie? So I added some cooked bacon and stirred in a wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese and now I had Cheesy Grits, in cauliflower form.

Dinner was tasty and unexpected!

Bonus….we have leftovers!

After cooking dinner,  my ingrown toe nail was killing me and I wanted to soak my feet. TMI? I’m sorry guys.

There wasn’t time for a tub soak before going to work, so I put a Tupperware container in the shower and soaked my foot while I showered. No joke. I say “Whatever works, do that”. It slid around in the shower nicely.

After working and a full day on my aching feet, (9,873 steps) I went to Target and I bought these items in hopes of moving this plantar fasciitis thing along. It is driving me nutzo! I bought epsom salt, KT tape and a that boot apparatus for sleeping.

When I got home, I soaked my feet for about 15-20 minutes in the Epsom salt, then I wrapped it with that KT tape. I found a YouTube video that told me EXACTLY how to wrap my foot with KT tape when experiencing Plantar Fasciitis. Fascinating stuff out there! Then I put on the boot/brace.

Kendra, THANK YOU for suggestion I go buy this tape. Night one was a success. I hope that it continues.

To end my day, I watched Dancing With The Stars and the theme for the night was……Disney! Perfect ending to a day where I did all that I could to feel younger.

Before all of that Mickey Mouse stuff, (am I the only one laughing here?) I made some awesome pancakes!

I used the Big Ass Waffle recipe, but made a stack of cakes instead of a waffle. I made Warm Cinnamon Apples for zero smartpoints to top them off with. I added just a tad of the cooked apples to each pancake as I cooked them.

My breakfast was pretty dang delicious.

Breakfast – 6 SP

Big Ass Waffle recipe (3 SP), but in pancake form, topped with Warm Cinnamon Apples and 1 T. Pure Maple Syrup (3 SP).

Lunch – 15 SP

Random things from the fridge.

Rotisserie Chicken, Roasted Butternut Squash, Carrots, Plantains and Egg Salad.

My Smartpoints are higher for lunch than is what is on this plate. After this plate, I dipped a few more plantains in my egg salad.

Dinner – 7 SP

Shepherds Pie, modified. 🙂

Snack – 6 SP

Two of these Coconut Date Balls. I find these in the produce isle. I put these in the freezer and they taste great with a cup of hot tea.

The only ingredients are Coconut and Dates, so they are high in SmartPoints, but oh so tasty!

A Happy Weekend

April 17, 2017

It was a great Easter Sunday yesterday.

My mother in law is one of nine children. There were six boys and three girls. They grew up on a farm in Eastern Kansas. I never did get to meet Mike’s grandpa, but I had the opportunity to meet Mike’s grandma before she passed away several years ago. I also had the opportunity to meet the three uncles that have now passed.

As you can imagine, with nine children and now four generations later, the family has really grown and each year for Easter, the family has dinner together.

Easter was always at the family farm, and I remember taking our kids and being able to be a part of that.

The family has grown so much over the years, it’s just too much for Aunt Lucille (who now lives on the family farm), so the family meets at a community center and really, it’s a great place for a family get together.

Each year, one of Mike’s cousins brings her camera and offers to take family photo’s.

There is always one picture of the original siblings and their spouses. One of the brother’s was not able to make it yesterday.

The three women in the middle are the sisters and the two men on the left are their brothers. The other three are spouses. My father in law is on the right. He is ecstatic about taking these pictures.

We also sang to my Father In Law and celebrated his 80th Birthday! (It’s not until September, but big birthdays are always celebrated at Easter.)

My In Laws with the Easter Bunny.

This bunny costume may be older than these Easter Celebrations. Some of the kids are afraid of it. lol.

Meat and drinks are provided by the hosting family and everyone else brings a side dish. There is always tons of food.

It’s about a 90 minute drive for us, so I always take something that travels well.

I took a 5 pound bowl of fresh fruit! Thanks to the little ones, this was almost all gone!

The crock pots were lined up filled with a variety of family favorites.

The little ones and their parents go first. I tried to find a kid, but they were all taken.

The salad table had a yummy variety.

Not only did we have two large sheet cakes, there was an entire dessert table!

The Coconut Cake is a favorite for several, and that was my choice!

For meals like this, I do not count points. I take small servings of the things that I know that I will like and I enjoy my meal. I ate an egg white omelet and fruit for breakfast so that I wouldn’t be starving as I went through the line. I consider yesterday a success!

After dinner, the kids all go outside with baskets to discover the Easter Bunny is there and that there is candy scattered all over in the grass!

It’s always a great time to catch up with Mike’s family and the time flies by.

I am really hoping that all of our kids and grand kids will be able to go next year. It’s a lot to ask, but it would be so nice for Mike’s parents to get to show off the family. It really is one of the best parts of the get together, watching the older generation getting to introduce new girlfriends/boyfriends, finances and of course, show off all of the new babies.

We came home around 5:00 and were ready for a nap.

Later in the evening (although we did not color eggs, I had several boiled) I made an Egg Salad, which somehow seemed an appropriate light dinner for the evening, and vegged on the couch for the rest of the night.

I forgot to mention that on Saturday, I ended the day with over 10,000 steps, and this was just by staying busy! Yay!

I’m having fun playing with the app on my phone and checking out all that the fitbit has to offer!

Really to go for 12,000 steps this week.

This is the latest picture of Wrenley, our new grand daughter. One month old already! She is just precious.

I hope the extended family gets to meet her and the others next year!

An AARP Kind of Day

April 16, 2017

I’m writing this all when I am way too tired, so please excuse any and all sentences that make no sense at all and any random babbling.

Wednesday after working the food truck, I headed out for a two mile walk with Tucker. I have driven this particular route and I know for a fact that it is two miles. I was curious to see just how accurate my Fitbit is. I was looking forward to our walk.

About five houses away I stepped off of the curb and tweaked my back. What the &@#$???

I slowly walked Tucker back home and with each tug of the leash from him, I winced.

I walked around the house for just a few minutes and decided that it wasn’t so bad after all and I went back out. By myself this time.

About three houses away from home, it happened again. I went home.

The plantar fasciitis is feeling a little bit better, but now I have an ingrown toe nail on one big toe. It’s a good one too. Geesh.

I’m becoming my mother. (I adore her, but… know.)

I spent the rest of the evening in the tub soaking with my AARP magazine that came in the mail on Wednesday. I giggled and rolled my eyes when I saw it in the mailbox. AARP? For me?? With Michael on the cover, the mention of Mysteries of the 50+ Body-Soved, and Yoga, I decided to browse through it.

It was actually very informative and written with a sense of humor. I was very entertained!

When I have my aches and pains, Mike will say things to me like “We are getting older you know.” I’m like…”NO! We aren’t! YOU are!”

While soaking in the tub, all I could hear was Mike’s voice….” We are getting older you know.”

I now plan to focus on things that make me feel like I’m in my thirties. I don’t know what they are yet, but I’ll tell you all about them after I do them. I’m going to make Mike do things that make him feel like he is in his forties. He is older than me ya know.

Thursday was a full on errand day and I racked up over 8,000 steps just doing my thing. I am discovering that on an average day, with no “exercise”, I am getting around 8,000 steps. This is good to know!

I spent Thursday evening with girlfriends sitting around a table sipping LaCroix Lime with a splash of Vodka and being tempted by the damn Peanut M&M’s in front of me. I kept moving them, but they kept creeping back down the table. I gave in. I don’t know how many I had. Dang it.

Always a fun night with my girls though.

Friday morning I rolled out of bed early to attack my chores. I had some fun planned for the afternoon and I wanted to get my “to do’s” done.

I had my oil changed, and while that was happening I had breakfast at First Watch. I always want to order the Avocado Toast, but honestly the toast pieces are HUGE and there is a ton of avocado piled up on there.

I decided to go for tit.

I scooped half of the avocado off and dipped this deliciousness in my poached eggs.

Breakfast was delicious.

A few more errands after breakfast, then I hit up a new spot for a cup of tea.

It’s a new place called Communitea. A cute little tea and coffee shop in downtown Overland Park that is right in the heart of the City Market that I love to go to.

Saturday morning was the first day of the city market for the season and I wanted to check out the tea spot before it became too busy on Saturday morning.

Look at the cute little timer that they give you to set on your table. I had the Paris tea and I loved it. I patiently waited the full 5 minutes.

Friday afternoon, I spent with a girlfriend celebrating her birthday. It ended up being a sunny afternoon, so we had lunch and a few cold ones on a patio and celebrated how awesome she is.

Friday night, Mike and I went out for dinner, then home to bed. I was pooped. My Salmon Salad was tasty though!

Saturday morning was another early morning. I was off to City Market in the convertible. This is me pretending I’m 30. I cranked up the music and had a great morning walking around the market and sipping on my tea from the new tea spot! I totally felt 30!

The market was hopping! (Easter pun. Cracking up. You guys….it’s late.)

After a bit of shopping and a quick stop by my dad’s house to say “hi”, I headed home to pick up Mike.

We’ve got tile to pick out!

Surprise! We are both liking the grey’s. Our entire house is turning grey.

Demolition should start in about 4 weeks. Ugh. Sounds like a good job for a 40 something husband, don’t ya think??

The tile on the left is what we are thinking about for the shower. The tile on the right is what we are thinking about for the wall behind the tub. We are going with dark tile for the floor that looks like wood. I think I’m gonna like it.

It was a full few days and I am ready for bed!

It’s 10:00 pm on Saturday night and while I blog away, Mike is watching the Ten Commandments. I think we watch it every year.

Old movies are funny. Over acting?? I’m trying not to giggle so I don’t ruin it for Mike. I’m so mean.

I gotta go! Moses is parting the Red Sea!! My favorite part!

If you are celebrating Easter, Happy Easter tomorrow!

If you are not, Happy Sunday tomorrow!

Hugs to all!
