One Long Day

Yesterday was one of those days that I thought would never end. I still had so many things to get done last night at 9:00. I finally turned off the lights and walked away from it all. I like going to bed with all things done, the kitchen counter tops empty, the blankets folded and put away in the living room. You know, things are done. I feel restless if I go to bed with things unfinished. I’ve gone to bed before with things “undone” and had to get up and do them so I could go to sleep. I know. I’m weird. I know. I know.

I worked my meeting yesterday, where I have some of the best WW members out there. Last week we talked about numbers and how they describe us, but they do NOT define us. When the members walked in to weigh yesterday, I had this waiting for them.

It felt good to start the meeting off reminding them of this. Who doesn’t want to hear that they are amazing?

After the meeting, I had to take both pups to the vet. A weeks salary later, we came home. Tucker has really bad allergies, so we’re trying something new for him and Mishka, the 15 year old, has a UTI. Poor pups.

After coming home from the vet, I was off to visit my cousin at the nursing home. My mom hasn’t been feeling so great, so she skipped this trip. I was trying really hard to get out for a visit every other Tuesday, but it just didn’t happen during the month of May. We might have to try for the first Tuesday of each month for a while. I can tell that she is upset about our lack of visits this month too. Here is some good news and some bad news. Her old next door neighbor (best friends!) fell and injured her leg about two weeks ago, and is at the same facility. Bad news obviously that she was hurt, but happy that my cousin has her friend to visit with daily, for awhile anyhow.

I came home, made dinner, then watched just a few minutes of this. It’s happening……

Oh, and when I walked in the door, Mike told me that when he started working on the bathroom last night, he found a dead bat in the tub. Yep.

These are my steps for the day. How can such a busy day bring you so little steps??? Sometimes you just can’t get it all done and you just have to be okay with that.

I guess yesterday was my rest day for the StepBet. Oh the irony!

I slept a solid 9 1/2 hours, so apparently I really was tired. Listen to your body.

It’s a great day for a food truck lunch!

Happy Hump Day!

Breakfast – 4 SP

This was going to be an omelette, then a frittata, then back to an omelette.

I call it….Frittomelette. It’s ugly but it was good!

Egg Whites, Veggies, 1/2 Slice Center Cut Bacon, 1 Wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese topped with 22 g Avocado with 1 tsp Nut Butter and fruit.

Lunch – 10 SP

All that Chicken that I grilled on Sunday is really coming in handy! I bought new Square plates at Target. They are deep and big and I love them! I might be just a tad proud of my Avocado Rose. 🙂

Mixed Greens, 5 oz Grilled Chicken, Peppers, Onion, Tomatoes, 80g Avocado and 2 T. Bolthouse Salad Dressing.

Snacks – 10 SP

Oops. This was an accident. I had a small handful of Raw Cashews (3 SP) and still wanted something crunchy with salt.

I opened up the new bag of Trader Joe’s Roasted Plantains, ate a few, then ate a few more. I was counting them, but just wasn’t thinking about the points! Glad I had a low point breakfast!

30 Chips – 7 SP

Dinner – 7 SP

Salmon, Asparagus and this Butternut Squash that is shaped like Crinkle Cut Fries that I found at Trader Joe’s.

  1. Thank you Michelle! I remember several years ago a WW member saying that she always tried to “plate” her food at home. She said she thought that it always tasted better and it helped her to eat slow and savor her food.

I still eat too fast, but it is fun to make a pretty plate!

    🙂

  2. The salad was yummy and the rose was easy! I watched a video on Youtube a while back. Super easy!

    🙂

  3. Ha ha. Thank you Rita. I watched a YouTube video several months ago and I thought that Avocado Rose was just the coolest thing!

  4. I’m glad you read that then! That number is just that. It’s a number. It took me a long time to not let that number determine my mood for the day after I stepped on the scale. We are so much more than that number. We are kind, we are loving, we are giving, we are caring, we work hard and we are good!

And don’t you forget it Maryfran Clingan!!!!

lol. Hope I made you smile.

    Hugs

  5. The salad looks great and your Avocado Rose was beautiful! Hard to make?
