Mother’s Day Weekend Success

I hope you’ve all had a great weekend!

We had a very full and happy one. This was one of the first weekends in a long time that we had so many things planned and that I was determined to enjoy myself while still following my WW plan by tracking and getting in my daily walks. I feel really good about successfully staying on plan while also having a great long weekend.

We talked wedding plans with Tess and Manuel over the weekend and made some big decisions. We went to Sawyer’s first Birthday party on Saturday. We had Mother’s Day here at our house with a nice big family get together. Monday morning I had a meeting with my WW boss about my next steps as a WW Leader (Yay!!), then Tess went with me to my two month post op appointment with my plastic surgeon, and later in the afternoon, Tess and Manuel headed back to Dallas.

I went for my first workout at the YMCA for the 12 week program that I applied for several weeks ago. I am anxious to get started! Yesterday was more of an introduction of the participants, so I stopped at a park for my walk on the way home.

I won’t bore you with everything that I ate over the last few days, but I did stay within my WW Daily SmartPoints everyday, and I walked everyday except for Monday.

We only ate one meal out over the long weekend and the rest were meals that I planned here at home that would make it easier for me to stay on plan.

At the birthday party, I skipped on the sweets but had four of these cute little cups of veggies.

Kate asked me to bring Fruit Kabobs to the Birthday party and the kids devoured these. I should have made more!

Sawyer did a great job of entertaining us!

After the birthday party, Tess, Manuel, Mike and I went out for Mexican food. I had ZERO chips, ordered Shrimp Fajita’s, no beans or rice, extra peppers and onions, and a beer.

Sunday we were up bright and early and went to church at 7:30. We never go that early, but it allowed for some really relaxing deck time before getting lunch ready for the family.

Tess wrote on the chalkboard. Is this the cutest?

Mike even made my Mother’s Day breakfast! (Sugar Free Turkey Bacon is REALLY good and you can have two slices for 1 SP!)

After breakfast, Tess and I had some girly time relaxing on the deck and sipping Pink Champagne. (We also felt the need for fancy water glasses. lol)

Happy Mother’s Day to me!

I kept lunch simple with paper plates, burgers and dogs (Thanks for grilling Manuel!), a chopped salad from one of my favorite restaurants, veggie tray, shrimp tray and cookies all from Costco, and a few other crunchy snack items and a fruit platter made by me 🙂

This girl made sure I had an awesome Mother’s Day.

Tess posted this on her Instagram account on Mother’s Day.

This girl really has a way with words when she shares our stories.

  4. Ok I’ve gotta admit I was good until I read Tess’ post. That one brought me to tears. Happy Mother’s Day to you both. I’m in the mood of a celebration my self. I may just steal all your treats for Memorial Day weekend. Stay blessed.
