It’s a day of Apple’s. I really wanted to get in my fruits and veggies today, and my crisper is full of Honey-crisp apples. While I do enjoy eating an apple the old fashioned way, I like to change things up a bit too. Then I discovered apple flavored things that I could NOT pass up! I ate these apple slices……..after they soaked in the juice of an orange and a lemon for 2 hours. I had this for breakfast……cooked apples over oatmeal. And I tried this gum, for the obvious reason….. A nice morning of humiliation……..and other stupid sh*t.
Its not like the annual pap exam isn’t already humiliating enough, but the thoughtless nurse/aide that got my height and weight, blurted it out in the hallway as she wrote it down! I am terrible at thinking of things to say when I am caught off guard because I don’t want to be rude, I don’t want to embarrass myself, and I don’t want to say anything I might regret, but I wanted to say …..”Was it really necessary for you to announce my weight in the middle of the hallway filled with other people? Weekend Festivities and Food……
More information that you need to know…….. Typically I clean house, top to bottom, the first Saturday of the month. I keep things picked up all the time, but I hate to mop, dust, vacuum, bathrooms! ick! But, throughout the month, I clean as needed. Since the house seemed unusually dusty, I cleaned some on Friday, Saturday AND Sunday! I got it all done a weekend early! (Maybe I completely forgot to clean last month? Eeeekkkk….that’s a possibility) Since Tess was home for the weekend, I thought it would be fun if she helped. She disagreed. Surprise! Yes……. that is my positive attitude shining through…… I went to my WW meeting Friday morning ready to rejuvenate, ready to plan, ready to do what needs to be done. I have enjoyed my little four week break (that sounds terrible), but its time to get back at it! AND….we are going on vacation in 11 weeks, and I would like be under 160!! Girl Time!
Tess is home from school for Fall Break, so we enjoyed some good girl time…… There is a new First Watch super close to our house, so we started there…….AND….they have Pumpkin Pancakes! (she hates this picture, but I like it because she looks 12 instead of 21) (she also hated the fact that I made her take my picture with my iPad) 🙂 I ordered my usual Egg White Omelet with dry Multi Grain Toast, and we ordered the pancake to share. 13 PPV? The pancake had just the right amount of pumpkin flavor and tasted wonderful without butter OR syrup! I look at this……and I just think……..ahhhh…..I love you Pumpkin. Lots going on, nothing fun or crazy, just trying to mark all the task off of the “To Do List”, which leaves little time for creative blogging! "In The Zone" or out?????
I feel as though I went from being completely “In The Zone” to…… “What’s a Zone?” I feel like the change happened over night……FOUR WEEKS AGO! The last four weeks have been……..anything but balanced, that’s for certain. I keep thinking of ways to move forward, then not making the changes necessary. It’s so hard sometimes to do the things that make me feel so good, and so easy sometimes…..(Hell, who am I kidding?)……easy ALL THE TIME to do the things that make me feel so bad? When I do the hard thing, I feel great both physically and mentally. When I do the easy thing, I feel like sh*t. All over! The hard thing?…….Taking the time to plan…..(meals, exercise time, grocery shopping)……then following through. The easy thing? Memphis Baby!
We had such a great weekend. I really didn’t know what to expect from Memphis, and as much as I was NOT looking forward to the car ride……….WE HAD A BLAST! The car ride was ridiculous! The drive was beautiful with all the trees changing colors………. ……..we discovered the rental van had a DVR, so we stopped at a Kum-n-Go (the name makes me giggle like a junior high kid) to rent Wanderlust at The Red Box, (I hope someone remembers to return that!), we snacked on homemade chocolate chip cookies (I only had two, geeezzzzz they were good)……………thanks Becky! We made lots of potty stops, (I really want to think this isn’t my fault) and Laura can make looking at a blank wall fun, so everything in between was just stupid and fun! Pack, errands…..last minute details!
I’m not sure how I can make preparing for one weekend, consume so much of my time, but for crying out loud! I try to pack very little, so I like to plan out what I’m wearing, down to the jewelry, then I take pictures……I KNOW! Ridiculous! Right??? Having house sitters, I want to make sure things are all tidy, so I am cleaning…….. Then there’s the snacks! It’s a road trip, so I need snacks and drinks that are point friendly. Ahhhhhhh……..I took some time to enjoy my breakfast, without being in a hurry, and browsed the magazine for a few outfit ideas…… I totally have a Khaki jacket like that, gray tank and similar boots!
