Yesterday in a nutshell. I walked 3 miles. I registered for a 5K. Yippee! I finally made it over to visit a friend of mine who has a new baby. Adorable. I forgot how much Mike and I both love Quinoa. I’m addicted to these stupid sweat pants that I bought at Walmart a few weeks ago. Yep, bought em in Dark Gray, Light Gray, Black and Light Gray Capri’s! The most important thing to me when deciding what to wear for the day? Being comfy. This is what you will find me in 90% of the time. Tank top and comfy pants. Seriously though, who would NOT want these Walmart gems??? Guys….they have pockets! Oh, and…my doggies were groomed yesterday and now they are pretty and clean. Speaking of pretty and clean….. We’ve been doing a few things around the house to clean it up since it is 16 years old. […]

Dates and Dates
Happy Monday! Look at the little coffee cup a friend of mine bought me over the weekend. Isn’t it the cutest? This morning I made myself a Pumpkin Spice Frothy Coffee and enjoyed it on the deck. I completely forgot to mention the fact that the birthday party that Mike and I went to on Saturday night had a special meaning for the two of us. On September 27th, 1996, Mike and I had our very first date at that same friends 30 birthday party! We had a great date night this Saturday celebrating our first date, 19 years ago. Time flies when you’re having fun! Speaking of dates…. Do you eat dates? I just bought them in the bulk area of my grocery store. Thank you Ronda, for suggesting that I buy these. Ronda sent me THIS link to a video all about dates and I just watched it. Now I […]
Weekend Fun!
So much going on and so much to say about the last two days. After my WW meeting on Friday morning, Tess, my daughter, and I chatted about our WW meetings and the goals that we wanted to set for ourselves for the week. We talk about our meetings a lot, especially since we both go on Friday mornings, and we share what is working for us, and what we need to work on to improve. We decided to send each other our WW tracker at the end of each day this week to help keep each other accountable. We set goals for the week, for the month, and for the next 16 weeks. Weight Watchers is encouraging us to set goals. They can be non scale related goals, or not. My one week goal is to not eat any of my activity points, but to allow myself to eat my […]
Love my KC Royals!
Last night, the KC Royals won the American League Central Division, and it’s kind of a big deal. Last October was crazy fun in Kansas City with baseball fever everywhere, and here we go again! I’m looking forward to an October full of Royals baseball and Chiefs football and lots of energy in Kansas City! Yesterday was a busy and full day. Lot’s done at home before heading out to work at the Food Truck. We had a fun day with the food truck at the American Royal Youth Rodeo! I’ve sucked a good friend of mine into the Food Truck fun. That’s Renee on the left. We met almost 30 years ago.I think she enjoys this just as much as I do! We made a new sandwich yesterday that we haven’t had on the truck before. I was in charge of actually making them, and after handing several […]
What’s For Dinner?
I love to cook. I love being in the kitchen and coming up with something tasty to eat that is low in points. I love playing with different foods. Lately….I can not think of anything that sounds good to make for dinner. I was out of town all weekend and I knew that I was coming home on Sunday to an empty fridge, because that’s how I left it. Empty. I ran to the store and bought only stuff to make dinner that night. Monday, we never did eat dinner, which is really odd for us. Tuesday, breakfast food for dinner, because still, no grocery shopping and I almost always have eggs. Last night, a quick trip to the grocery store, having no idea what I was going to buy when I got there. I’m hungry, but nothing sounds good. I’m in a rut for sure as what to have […]
Life…
I’m that 80/20 person. Heck, maybe I’m that 70/30 person. I’m eating healthy and exercising……most of the time. I have not been at my goal weight of 160 for about a year and half, but have maintained a weight of 172. I have given up gluten, dairy, sugar, alcohol and even corn to get weight off at times. Right now, I’m not eliminating anything, I’m just making healthy choices…..most of the time. The last three days have literally been all over the place. Life. Right? I wanted to track every day this year, I have not. I have guessed on a lot of foods the last three days. I have not exercised hard (I did walk 2 of the last 3 days), I have not given the best effort to get all of my water in, and I really don’t know how many points I’ve eaten these last three days. […]
Dallas Visit
My daughter and I had chatted about me coming to visit her in Dallas this weekend. The trip was a bit up in the air, and then it all came together, so I’m here! Thursday morning left no time for blogging. Now I’ll try for a short one. I’m in bed with Tess right now drinking coffee and playing on our computers looking at recipes on Pinterest, outfits on Pinterest, trying to book a massage today, and enjoying good girly chat too. I was at the airport by 6:30 pm on Thursday for a 7:30 flight, then I got bumped to the 9:30 flight, that actually took off at 11:30, which landed me in Dallas at 1:07 am. It was a lovely evening at the airport watching the Chiefs lose. Friday we slept in and it was so nice to have nothing we had to do. After coffee and a […]
Busy Day Yesterday…Short & Sweet Today
Slept like a baby last night, making up for the crappy night’s sleep the night before, but slept too long. Heading out the door in just a few minutes, so short and sweet today. Yesterday I worked at the food truck, then I walked 4 miles because it was gorgeous outside, then I did laundry, then I mowed the yard because it was gorgeous outside. Showered and in bed by 9:00 pm. That about sums up my day! I did pack greek yogurt and fruit to take to the food truck, and I ate it, but there was another food truck at our event too, and at the end of the day, we shared food with each other. They brought over two taco’s for each of us. I picked at one of the taco’s and called it 6 PointsPlus. Here are yesterday’s eats….. Breakfast – 6 PPV Pumpkin Pancake’s topped with […]
Coffee, Coffee…and more Coffee
First let me start with, I was busy yesterday, and I was having fun yesterday, so I was a bit distracted and forgot to take pictures of a lot of my food throughout the day. I tracked my food last night and I think it’s pretty accurate. I love starting off these cool mornings with a coffee on the deck while listening to my dogs bark at all the squirrels and the bunnies and other dogs. So peaceful. That was my first cup of coffee yesterday. Then I picked up a girlfriend and we took a trip to the Louisburg Cider Mill. Every Fall, I like to go there and look at all of the varieties of Apple Butter, Peach Butter, Cider, Soup Mixes, Knick Knacks, and my favorite of everything there…this Pumpkin Butter. After shopping and picking out a few things along with my Pumpkin Butter, we sat outside and had […]
I Slept and I Vacuumed
Getting out of bed at 10:00 am, then hanging out on the couch (and napping) until after the Chiefs game ended after 3:00 pm, probably wasn’t the best use of a gorgeous sunny day, but that’s what happened. After the game, I took a short nap with Tucker outside in the hammock. Super short. Then, Mike and I replaced our oven. Okay, Mike replaced our oven, I assisted. I haven’t been able to bake anything over 350 degrees for a few weeks now. The new oven has been sitting in the garage, and it just didn’t sound like a fun job, so we were avoiding it. I was worried about scratching up the new floors too! The new oven is now in, and no scratches! He’s just so darned handy! After that, I vacuumed. The kind of vacuuming that involved pulling out all of the attachments, moving furniture, vacuuming window seals and vacuuming the ceiling […]
