Yesterday morning I went to my WW meeting as a member, excited for my first weigh in back on plan after several months of focusing on healing.
I was also quite pleased with the activity points that I had earned my first week back on plan!
After an awesome week of tracking and paying attention to my portions, earning 6 out of 7 Blue Dots (It’s a WW thing in the app that keeps you motivated to stay within a healthy eating range of points), walking and counting steps, saying “no” to things that would not help me reach my goals and saying “yes” to things that will help me, basically having a really healthy and “in control” week, I stepped on the scale and was down 0.2 pounds. Yep, that’s right.
Down 0.2. What??
Here is what went on inside my head yesterday as a WW Member and a WW Leader. No joke.
Member me: Are you freaking kidding?
Leader me: Tell me about your week Julie.
Member me: I did EVERYTHING right! EVERYTHING!
Leader me: It is not uncommon for us to not see all of our hard work on the scale right away.
Member me: But what should I do this week? I’m going to be so frustrated if I do the same things this week and only see a loss of 0.2 next week!
Leader me: Go back to your “Why”. Why do you want to lose weight?
Member me: I want to be a healthy person. I want to feel my best!
Leader me: Let’s talk non-scale victories. Do you feel healthy when you make the decisions that you made this week?
Member me: Absolutely!
Leader me: Do you think that by making the decisions that you made this week, you will be the healthiest person that you can be?
Member me: I do.
Leader me: Well then get back out there and do exactly what you did this past week! Do not let the scale determine your weeks success. It can take the scale a while to reflect the hard work that you’ve put in. You’re doing an awesome job. Focus on all of the great things you did this week and be proud of yourself.
Then Leader me hugs Member me. (This all actually went on inside my head!! Even the visual hug of me hugging me. I am a dork. I am aware.)
As a WW Leader, we are always a member first. We still have our struggles. It’s easy to be frustrated with little to no loss after working the plan, but I know that I just need to keep it up, because not only do I feel physically healthy when I actively live a healthy life, mentally I feel great about the choices that I am making.
I’m loving having Tess and Manuel here this weekend and we have already had such a great time. We have a full next two days. Tess and Tucker have joined me on my walks and it’s been nice to have that Mom/Daughter/Dog time. 🙂
I didn’t quite make 10,000 yesterday, but it was a great day.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Here are yesterday’s eats…
Brunch – 7 SP
I had pre-cooked pork sausage and roasted potatoes in the fridge. That made this skillet scramble quick to make! It taste much better than it looks!
Dinner – 9 SP
This Chicken Verde Crockpot recipe was easy and delicious. I used only Chicken Breast, but the recipe does call for breast and thighs.
We have plenty to snack on for the rest of the weekend. On salads, in tortillas, over some roasted potatoes and topped with cheese, or just on a plate topped with Avocado like I did here for dinner last night.
I also snacked on some Un-Pictured Guac and Roasted Plantains and Chicken.

Look at you back at the gym! That’s awesome Michelle! I have faith in us too!!
I hope you had a great Mother’s Day and that you have a great WEEK!!!
Hug to you friend.

Hi Barbra,
That scale can be a stinker sometimes! (eye roll here), but I know I had a healthy week, so I’ll be patient.
It was a great Mothers Day and I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!!
I know it must have, but dang that scale! lol
Nice to hear from you Nancy and hope all is well!!
Sounds like you are doing pretty good, just takes time to get back in the swing of things. I gained 6 lbs after my husband passed away as I wasn’t as active. Started going back to the gym 2 weeks ago and being more mindful of what I put in my mouth. We will get there! I have faith in us.
Happy Mother’s Day, so glad your daughter is here to celebrate with you.
Your body truly appreciates all you did for it this past week.
Have a great Mother’s Day.
Again, thanks for sharing your honest disappointment and conversation with yourself. The scale is not the only measure of success. Just wish it would cooperate a bit more! Happy Mother’s Day!
