We Got This

Unexpected circumstances can leave us wondering what tomorrow will bring. When things don’t go well here, Mike will say, “It is what it is and we’ll figure it out.” He’s right. While it doesn’t make what may be happening any less real, I know that together, we will get through it. We got this.

I’ve had so many conversations in the last two days with friends that are struggling with anxiety and emotions and now several friends have lost their jobs. It is all so heartbreaking.

To anyone reading, please know that you are not alone. I welcome any comment, email, text message, Facebook message, Instagram message. I’m offering my ear (or keyboard) because sometimes we just need to talk and know that we are not alone.

Together, we got this.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my word “Create” that I chose for 2020. I’ve been thinking about how 2020 does not look at all like any of us expected it to look. I’ve also been thinking about how I have continued to give that word purpose. Creating spaces. Creating a new routine. Creating memories, although they are quite different than I imagined they would be. Creating happiness.

Creating meals with what’s in the fridge!

I felt like we needed some groceries on Saturday and here it is Tuesday and I still have not been to the grocery store. I’ve shared that I love to grocery shop, but right now. I’m feeling anxious when I shop. I guess you could say that I’ve created a game with myself to see just how long I can go without going to the grocery store. I may go today. I may not. Working with what’s here forces me to create, so why not?

Yesterday I jumped on board to try the new FitOn app within the WW App.

Not a WW member? Anyone can download the FitOn App for FREE! I downloaded it this morning just to make sure. So many awesome at home workout videos!

All WW members should see “New! Workout classes” on their My WW Home page by the end of the week!

Yesterday I did these three small workouts.

Oddly I didn’t love the Relax & Unwind because her stretch was intense, she was really flexible, and she didn’t verbally offer up permission to modify. For me, that is an awesome trainer/teacher. One that verbally acknowledges that all bodies are different and offers options to modify to get the best workout for your body.

That being said, I loved the other two! I’m looking forward to going through the app and finding more that I can work into a routine.

In addition, I got in 11K!

I’m back to playing with the Oatmeal Muffin! I tried the ingredients in my mini waffle iron. Tada!

This made 3 Baby waffles.

A few days ago I rinsed several berries and put them in a container. Yesterday when I added them to the top of my vanilla yogurt, it created this Beautiful Berry Bowl!

Breakfast

I added in 1/2 T mini chocolate chips and topped this with 1 tsp pure maple syrup and 1 tsp Mixed Nut Butter

Lunch

Hummus, veggies, yogurt and berries. I added a handful of almonds to this.

Dinner

I took a lot of pretty pictures yesterday. This was not one of them. Tasted good though.

Leftover Skinnytaste Chicken Enchilada Roll-up and Brussels Sprouts.

I saw this on Instagram yesterday and I love it.

‘Til tomorrow.

  1. just wondering about that oatmeal mixture in the waffle iron – when I make waffles and don’t had oil to batter – i get a stuck waffle. Yours didn’t stick? but I have noticed that I’ve been making a my muffin in a ramekin and it doesn’t stick, even today when I forgot to spray with Pam first… so maybe?

  2. Kathy, so happy hearing you feel inspired and what an amazing accomplishment!! 71 pounds gone!! 🎉 🥳 That is awesome! Those last few can be a booger! 3. hindsight – should have bought stock in 3M – just due to the amount of sticky notes I have purchased through the years … would be retired today – on a camping trip with you!!! =)

  4. I would listen to you any day, every day! I love that you do sticky notes.😂❤️ My sister. ☺️ Those are all great sticky note notes!! That muffin! Dang it, I know! Love you girl.

  5. You have inspired me so much through your posts! Tomorrow morning, I am going to get out my dusty waffle iron to make some oatmeal muffin waffles! (adding some chocolate chips…a must!) I also want to try the WW short workout exercises. I’ve lost 71 pounds on WW and would love to lose just 4 more, but these last few are sticking like glue. Where would I find your WW virtual workshop? I’d love to attend!

  6. As a recipient of your listening ear this week, I want to say thank you – sometimes we just need to hear our thoughts out loud and to share them so we are not so alone!

Love the mantra “It is what it is”. I posted a sticky note (I LOVE sticky notes!) on my desk “If you can’t control it, don’t let it control you”. I don’t want to waste my time and energy thinking about something that I can’t change!

I also wrote on my note: “Control what you can: I can control what I feed my soul, body, and mind and the best thing I can do for myself right now is to be healthy physically and mentally!

Had your oatmeal muffin again today! Just loving it! Keeps me full all morning.

  7. I don’t know about wisdom Diane, but if I got you going in a better peace of mind, that’s a really good thing. 😊 I’m no photographer but I do have fun playing with my simple little iPhone. The deck and the natural daylight has made for some great pictures recently. And that oatmeal muffin? Holy heck! I need to remember that I like omelettes once in a while too.😂😂

  8. You always offer such sound wisdom with a perfect dose of inspiration. Which helps all the rest of us re-calibrate and get going in a better peace of mind. So thank you! I’ve also been meaning to mention what a great job you do with photography. Especially with your food shots. Quite a talent!

By the way, I finally got around to making the oatmeal muffins … oh.my.gosh! My husband and son have been enjoying them too. My favorite so far is banana pecan. Tastes like the most perfect, moist banana bread ever! NEVER would have thought of making waffles with them! Guess I’m gonna have to break down and buy myself that waffle maker! Have a great day, Julie!
