Shop, Delivery or Pick-Up?

How are you currently grocery shopping?

I’ve decided to give grocery Pick-Up a try. For whatever reason I am finding grocery shopping dreadful and full of anxiety. Yesterday’s Pick-Up went smoothly, so I’ll give that a go again. I had a small order and was pleased to see everything I ordered was in the bag.

After a relaxing morning on my computer in my pj pants, then a quick trip to pick up groceries in my pj pants and walking shoes, I headed out the door for a 4 mile walk, still in my pj pants. Also, missing my grand babies.

Some days are just pj pant days.

10K for steps yesterday and some yummy food.

I buy this at Costco and I like having it on hand to add into Yogurt. Some days can be harder than others to keep my hand out it for a sweet snack. So far with this bag, I’m good.

I purposely keep this behind the chicken stock in the pantry. That sounds super weird, I’m aware. If I keep it behind something, I don’t automatically see it when I open the pantry. Sometimes just seeing something triggers me to eat it/over eat it when I wasn’t even thinking about it.

Anyone else?

I don’t think I’ve made a sweet potato in a while. I made this as a side to go with dinner. I cooked the sweet potato in the microwave. This was on the medium to large size. Wash then poke several times with a fork. Approximately 2-3 minutes on each side. I cook these until a fork will just slide in. Not hard, but also not mushy. Firm but soft? lol

Then I slice the potato and cook them in the skillet with a little Olive Oil, sea salt, chili powder and cumin. Basically I made french fries, but not really.

Thanks to my sweet friend Ronda for suggesting equal parts Soy Sauce and Sugar Free Maple Syrup as a Chicken marinade! I didn’t have either 😂 but I did have Pure Maple Syrup and Coconut Aminos and this was delish!!

Breakfast

This is often breakfast as the majority of my mornings are spent in my office sipping on my coffee. At only 35 calories for 8 oz, this can go a long way with my morning joe. If you warm it, then put it in a container and shake the ever loving daylights out of it, it bubbles and froths.

Lunch

Two Good Vanilla Yogurt topped with Banana slices, Blueberries, 2 tsp Mixed Nut Butter and 1 T. Granola.

Dinner

Roasted Broccoli, Skillet Sweet Potatoes and Ronda’s Grilled Chicken

‘Til tomorrow.

  1. Oh my goodness Larissa. Thank you. It’s making me completely Whacko!! Hang in there! 😘

  2. I hadn’t thought of the dishwasher. My food would be wet but I like the way you think Nancy! 🤣

  3. Ha! So many options with that simple list of ingredients! 😋 looking at eating more sweet potatoes! I’ve missed them! Hugs Diane!

  4. Such a delicious looking dinner!!

I agree with you, grocery shopping is a nerve wracking endeavor!!

  5. I’ve been using home delivery for awhile now.
When the panic first appeared I couldn’t get everything on my list but I always got all the essentials. It seems to be back to normal now. A few items they list as ship only items.
I don’t use my dish washer so I hide treats in there.
I’ll keep things I don’t want to eat often in back of things also.

  6. So I just had one of your oatmeal banana muffin thingy with a few chopped pecans. I’m on the purple plan, so it’s zero points (apart from the squirt of FF RediWip on top). Right? I’m already totally addicted to them and love that they’re so filling. Now I’m looking at those sweet potatoes and thinking those sound amazing. As does the chicken – that marinade sounds so good! I’ve never tried so many new recipes since I’ve been following you. Good to get out of the rut. And glory, are we in a rut with this quarantine biz. So THANK YOU. Again!
