Memorial Weekend 2020

I am thankful to all who have served and happy to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I know many families have traditions they enjoy doing over holiday weekends. Mike and I always seem to spend three day weekends working on projects, and this year was no different.

I would have been here sooner, but I’ve been fighting my computers ability to load pictures. After lots of frustration, I gave up and decided I wasn’t meant to write a blog over the weekend. After trying several things today, all I needed to do was to turn my computer off and then on. Yep. You think I’d learn, right?

Anywho, I’ll keep this fairly short today. Mike is working away at his garage project and I’m keeping myself busy trying to help where I can but also stay out of his way. I didn’t let him know that I had reassigned myself lawn duty, but he greatly appreciated me taking on that chore this weekend while he filled holes in the garage walls, put up new trim inside the garage doors, sealed and caulked any gaps and painted the garage. We have a rather large garage and this dude has some big plans for it. He’s regretting not taking before pictures, so I’m trying to take a few “during” pics for him.

While basically trying to stay out of the way and keep busy, I decided to wash my truck this weekend old school. I don’t know the last time I washed my vehicle myself at the car wash. I was in the mood for something different. This car wash may be as old as I am.

Is it weird that I was kinda excited to use the brush?

The soap smells like candy. My hands were pink for a full day.

I kept active doing a few different things over the weekend. Lawn work, car wash (That power sprayer required TWO hands to operate! Great arm workout! lol) walks and I gave one of the New Video Workouts a try in the WW App. This one was fun but in order for me to learn the dance I had to rewind the video several times.. Time well spent!

Also this weekend, some good down time. I recently purchased three new books. I’m just getting started on book one. I’ll keep you posted!

We got together with a few friends over the weekend. The last time we saw this group of friends was mid March, right when things were starting to close down but getting together at a friends house with a small group still seemed like a safe thing to do as long as nobody had been sick. We all gathered this weekend in a friends backyard and it was so nice to spend some time with friends. I put together this brightly colored plate to share.

I cleaned out the fridge and found all sorts of things I could use. Grilled Mini Peppers are delicious!

While trying to figure out my photo issues with my computer over the weekend, I found myself scrolling through some older photos. While I am not currently at my lowest weight, I was reminded of life at my highest weight.

37 pound difference in these two photos.

Happy to be where I’m at today.

Back at the daily blog tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!

‘Til tomorrow!

  1. I’m happy to know that you read this book! I’m excited to get into it a little deeper. HGTV. You’re a funny girl.😂

  2. Just catching up on your posts. I’m glad your computer gave you the weekend off. You need time away now & then! I read The Gown a while back and loved it! Doesn’t it make you feel like you were right there? Love books like that. Can’t wait to see what else you’re reading. As for you and Mike and your projects, keep this up and HGTV will come calling for a show of your own! You guys would be AWESOME!
