It’s just been a really good last few day’s. My Weigh In went WAY better than I was expecting after the weekend I had last weekend. I actually lost weight! The last three days, I’ve gotten in two walks like this one I did yesterday…… ……I’ve consumed a LOT of water, went to bed early, and I’ve eaten really well. I already feel a lot better than I did just a few days ago! I met another WW member for coffee after my meeting Friday morning. She read’s my blog, and she had said that she thinks that we have very similar struggles and she wanted to get together and discuss. We had a great hour and a half chat about our life long battle with weight, and the mentality of it all. I’m not sure we solved any unanswered questions for each other, but it felt really […]

Great Day for a Walk Outside!
It was a busy morning and I had a lot of things on my “to do list”. After running a few errands in the morning and enjoying the weather outside, I knew I wanted to get out and walk. I have a few friends that like to walk outside just as much as I do, and I know I walk further when I go with someone, so I sent out a few text messages. Becky almost ALWAYS say yes to a walk, and she did not disappoint yesterday! I will say at the end of this walk, I was ready for a pitcher of ice water and a chair!! Breakfast Open Faced Sandwich with Light English Muffin 4 Egg Whites, Tomato Slices, 1/4 Smashed Avocado Strawberries Black Coffee 6 PPV Lunch Chopped Salad with Crockpot Shredded Mexican Chicken 1/4 Smashed Avocado 10 PPV Snack Fruit Bowl […]
A Day in Control
I’ve got a full day today, so I’m keeping this super short! I didn’t get a post written yesterday, and I struggled on Tuesday to make the best food choices. I was gone all day, then didn’t take pictures, but basically I ate meat and tortilla’s and a few pieces of fruit. Yesterday, I was back on track, and it felt good to be in control. Breakfast Frothy Coffee Oatmeal topped with Warm Cinnamon Apples 5 PPV Lunch at the Food Truck Shredded Chicken, Chipotle Mayo and Secret Sauce! 8 PPV Snack Fruit 0 PPV Dinner Salmon, Baked Sweet Potato Grilled Zucchini topped with 1 T. Parmesan 14 PPV I cooked the Salmon in 1 tsp of Lemon Infused Olive Oil, and the Zucchini in 1 tsp of the same Olive Oil. It made this whole meal taste so good! I’ve been eating my baked sweet […]
Chores and a Chicken Enchilada Casserole
Yesterday was a great day full of chores. Getting organized for the week, doing some much needed housework, menu planning, grocery shopping, then working out in the yard for about four hours. For some reason, I never did get to the mulching that needed to be done this Spring. So I chose yesterday to do that. What better way to spend an afternoon, while aching from head to toe from tubing over the weekend!! It actually loosened up my tight neck, and I felt much better! 🙂 While meal planning, I found some chicken in the freezer that I wanted to use for dinner. When I found a simple recipe through Pinterest on Gimme Some Oven, for basically layering a bunch of things, including cooked chicken, and tossing it in the oven, I knew that was dinner. The recipe for a Chicken Enchilada Casserole includes a recipe for Homemade Red Enchilada […]
Lake Weekend’s are the Best!
It was a great long weekend with lots of relaxing, lots of playtime, and lots of people! My lake weekend began with a four hour drive south to the beautiful Table Rock Lake…… ……..which is the clearest and cleanest lake that I have ever been to! I should have taken a picture of my feet dipped into the water so you could see how clear it was! Thursday I’m not a super fan of night time driving, and the drive to the lake ended in the dark, on your typical winding lake road, IN THE RAIN!! I was 10 and 2 on the steering wheel, leaning forward just as far as I could (seriously, how does this help??) and gripping that steering wheel just as tight as I could! I was following friends since I wasn’t sure where I was going, and with a good 15 minutes to go, I […]
Bright Eye’d and Bushy Tailed!
That’s how I felt when I woke up yesterday morning! Bright Eye’d and Bushy Tailed! Between my Advil PM, and the breathing technique’s I’ve learned in Yoga, I’ve been going to sleep easier, and actually staying asleep. I had TWO good nights in a row, and that just never happens. I’m a total tosser and turner. Some mornings I wake up exhausted from all of the tossing and turning!! Not yesterday morning though. I woke feeling super rested and ready for the day! I always say I am going to exercise before leaving to go work the Food Truck on Wednesday’s, but I rarely do. Yesterday morning, I took care of my morning chores, put on my exercise clothes and headed out the door with Tucker! As Tucker attempted one of our traditional “sniff and stroll’s” I said to him…. “Nope. We’re running this mile buddy! It’s beautiful outside this […]
Small Meals
On Monday, I ate only a banana for breakfast, and it was late when I had lunch, which left me with lots of points for snacks, or small meals, throughout the rest of the day. At the end of the day, I still had 2 points left. At my WW meetings, I have heard other members talk about how they eat small meals (around 5 points) throughout the day. So yesterday, again, I ate small meals, and I ate often. After looking at what I ate, I only ate two fruits and the only veggie I got in yesterday was the tomatoes in my marinara sauce! Oops. I brought bread into the house for the BLT’s the other night, and it’s a total trigger food for me. I love the Trader Joe’s bread as toast, and it’s only 1 Point for one piece, but it will be a good thing […]
Learning to Run
Last night Mike asked…..”How did “Running One Mile Everyday” for the month of July go? I said….”I think I only missed 5 days.” The awesome thing about my blog is that, I can look back at anything I need to and see just how I did. I MISSED 17 DAYS!!! Okay, I will say only five of those days I did NO exercise at all, but I couldn’t believe I missed 17 days. It felt like such an active month!! After looking back at my blog I discovered this…… One of those days that I did not run, I walked 6.8 Miles and Biked 3.0 Miles. One of those days that I did not run, I went to THREE yoga classes. One of those days that I did not run, I walked and worked in the yard for hours. The other days that I did not run, I walked good long […]
Catching Up and Homemade Marinara!
Friday morning was really busy and I had planned to blog that afternoon. Well that never happened and then Saturday and Sunday were pretty much a repeat of FRIDAY! So, obviously, I have lot’s to say! I have actually spent a lot of time in the last two weeks learning more about the Blogging World! Did you know that you can make money by blogging?? I know….right? Well, I’ve only made a few pennies, but it is my hope, since I spend so much time here anyway’s and I really like doing this, that one day I will be smart enough to figure out the whole “money making” part of it without changing the way I blog. I like keeping it simple and I don’t want to overwhelm my blog with a bunch of advertising (which is how you make the money) so I am trying to learn all about […]
Life without a Cell Phone
Okay, it really was just for a few days…..but it was a total reminder of how many things I use that thing for! I forget, it’s NOT just a phone!! My iPhone died on Thursday. I had accidentally placed it in a cup of water a couple of weeks ago, and it had continued to work, well, kinda. I guess the water damage caught up with it, and it did eventually die. I was oddly looking forward to going to the lake for the weekend and taking a break from my phone. While at the lake, I realized not having my phone also meant not having my camera, not having my music, not having my WW app, and not having my GPS for my walk…so I don’t know exactly how far I walked or for how long. I was fine with taking a break from the social media such as […]
