Well, it’s been an awesome full day and a successful one at that! Breakfast was with some of the fam at IHOP! Mom’s favorite. Isn’t she a doll? This is me, my brother, my daughter in the hat, my niece and my mom. I went with the Harvest Grain Blueberry Pancakes and egg beaters. I ordered egg whites, but every single one of us ordered something weird and I hated to send it back, I was STARVING! It was just what I wanted, and I only ate HALF! Lunch was downtown in the Kansas City Crossroad’s District at Grinders. So many yummy things to choose from, and I had a somewhat light breakfast? I went with 1/2 BLT and 1/2 Fried (EEEKKK! I know!) Goat Cheese Salad…….but it was just one nice little fried piece of cheese…Oh, and beer. Tess went for the Chicken Parmesan Grinder. Yum! We had a great […]

Birthdays…Mothers Day….Anniversary..
Lots of celebrations this week and weekend! So much to do, so many places to go, so many people to see, SO MUCH FOOD TO EAT! Tuesday was our wedding anniversary and we had a great time going out for BBQ at BB’s Lawnside while listening to Trampled Under Foot! I posted some pictures already, but I have have more! Well, they are from my phone, so they really suck, but I wanted to try and show what a funky little place this is. Below is the bathroom……you can’t see the walls in the whole place! They are covered with posters and newspaper articles. I LOVE it! Fridays WW meeting was great and I felt ready to face the weekend and all of it’s food challenges….. Friday was a surprise party for two friends that are both turning the big 5-0! So you know I am planning on some beer. […]
I LOVE my meetings!
There are so many wonderful things about Weight Watchers, I don’t know where to begin, but one thing for sure, I LOVE my meetings and my leader, Joan! My Friday meeting has really turned into an incredible group of Weight Watcher members. Everyone has such great insight. I don’t think I have ever actually cried in a meeting before, which is a huge surprise considering a 30 second commercial can cause me to lose it, but I have cried a few times in the parking lot afterwards. Today was one of those days. The topic today was “Motivation”. How do you keep motivated? Our Weight Watchers Weekly……. had a series of questions that we went through as a group. Question 4, What might dim your motivation? I raised my hand. It’s so hard for me not to share! I said I was probably the strangest WW member ever, but one […]
One Year Ago Today!
I started this blog one year ago today. My plan all along has been to reach my weight loss goals, become a WW Leader, then be able to send WW members to my blog for support, meal ideas, motivation, patience and most of all, a little humor along their own weight loss journey. I want those that lose the weight slowly to understand the most important thing is that they are losing the weight, and becoming healthier. Of course we all benefit from looking better when we lose weight, but the important thing to remember, is that losing the weight has tons of health benefits, and THAT is the most important thing. Simply figuring out HOW to blog has been a much larger obstacle than I knew. When I received my fabulous IPad from Mike for Christmas, I never again opened the vintage laptop, which is where the blogging first […]
Keeping it real….
Totally forgot to post my weight…… I said if I didn’t take a picture of the scale…..I would post my weight either way….two weeks ago I was T 170.0……last week I assumed it would be 173 something……and it was…..this week was 173.8. “love the life you live, live the life you love”
How Bad Do I Want It?
I have had a few interesting conversations with friends and family and my WW leader lately. When I am asked about my weight loss and how I am doing, I reply by telling people I really have maintenance under control. Which is true. I have been doing the same things for several months. For me to lose more weight and reach my goal, I need to make the decision to move forward. I have become very comfortable in the 170’s and honestly, don’t feel in any big rush to get the last 20 off. I know that I need to. I have blogged a few times about my socializing (adult beverages), and stress eating. I am feeling pretty good about dealing with stress and anxiety in healthier ways, but my social calendar is full! 🙂 All kidding aside, I truly feel great! I feel so healthy and happy and energetic. […]
Lots of Greens Today!
Lots of power foods today! Lots of pictures today! Lots to say today!Let’s star with funny. My life can be comical at times. Probably not more comical than most other people, but I like to share, so sometimes I am looking for funny, so that I have something to share. This morning I get a call and need to leave the house in a hurry. I throw on some yoga pants (for comfort, not yoga), my tennis shoes (because I WILL get in exercise today!) and a random t-shirt that I got for Free on St. Patrick’s day. I don’t even WEAR t-shirts! I don’t like the way I look in them. After taking care of business, I decide to run some errands while I’m out. The grocery store, Walmart, the bank and Starbucks for my Grande Nonfat Latte (nonfat milk is a Power Food). I come home for a couple […]
Portion Control
I have never made an effort to blog every day. Sometimes I go a full week and only blog once. Sometimes I blog three times a day. It just kind of depends on what I have to say, or what I don’t have to say. Some days, I never shut up! I am going to give daily blogging a try and put out there everything I am eating. Will I eat differently? I have really changed the way that I eat. It’s all pretty healthy foods. Sometimes my issue is not WHAT I am eating, but HOW MUCH I am eating. I am going to weigh and measure to make sure my servings sizes match the PPV that I am giving them. Here is yesterday’s menu.My favorite breakfast…….Oatmeal Pancake. Includes egg whites and a banana (power foods).Lunch was a Chicken Salad Wrap. I love to buy a rotisserie chicken for several […]
Focus? Power Foods.
In my effort to make up for dinner and drinks out Thursday, Happy Hour on Friday, and all that beer at the local pool hall on Saturday, I am focusing on the power foods in a serious effort to not freak out on Friday at the scale. Here is how yesterday went. Open face egg white (power food)and cheese sandwich on English muffin (power food)…..with a banana (power food) and Better N Peanut Butter. With this new cheese! Lunch was string cheese, an apple (power food), grapes (power food), nonfat yogurt (power food) topped with Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal. For a snack, I had a banana (power food). And dinner turned out really tasty. I was roaming the isles on Sunday at the grocery store looking for a new dinner idea, or at least something we hadn’t had in a while. I found this! So I made up a […]
Too Much Socializing…..
One of my toughest spots for sure. The socializing. Gets me in trouble every time. But it’s soooo much fun! I love my friends! Thursday I met a great girlfriend of mine that I see on a regular basis. The hubbies were playing golf, and we hadn’t had a chance to catch up in a while. The weather was great, and dinner at a local favorite place, on the patio, sounded perfect. Beers included. Friday was Happy Hour with a few friends. The stories and the giggles and the great conversation got the best of me. The hostess kept pouring, and I kept drinking. Lesson learned. Do my own pours from now on. Saturday was a great night out with neighbors to a local pub for some beers and a couple of hours at the pool table! We had a blast! I ate fine, but enjoyed more beers than my […]
