Now that I’ve mastered the voice command for blogging….this is one long post! It’s just me, sitting in bed with coffee this morning while it rains, talking into my phone. This is the perfect morning! Ha! On Thursday afternoon I picked up my first ever prescription glasses. They are progressive lenses. When I first put them on I assured the lady helping me that the prescription must be wrong. I couldn’t see a thing! She then assured me that the prescription was correct and that progressive lenses would take me a while to get used to. You guys, learning how to walk down stairs with progressives on is NO JOKE! A picture I sent to one of my grandkids last night. I can see! I should’ve been wearing prescription glasses a long time ago, which I knew. I have been getting by with the readers for a long time. She […]

Sweet Liz
I met my neighbor and now good friend, Ashli, about 19 years ago when we moved into the neighborhood. This is us at Fleetwood Mac recently. How cute is she? Just as sweet as she is cute! Over the years, Ashli has graciously introduced me to her girlfriends that she has been close with for years. Ashli has many friends, but there are four of them that stick together like glue and spend a lot of time together. They are all amazing and strong and smart women. I love spending time with all four of them. One of Ashli’s friends that I have had the pleasure in getting to know over the last several years is Liz. Liz is in the bottom right of the above picture. Liz. Smile with a heart of gold. Dog lover (partial to golden retrievers). Lover of all things black and white with a splash of […]
Celebrating the Future Mr. and Mrs.
I picked up Tess and Manuel at the crack of dawn on Friday morning at the airport. I brought them home and then I was off to work. I have this job thing now ya know. When I got home later in the afternoon, Tess and Manuel and I went for a late lunch. We got caught up and talked about how excited we were for the couples shower on Saturday night. We enjoyed an evening of yummy beverages and Yahtzee and hanging out the house. It was the perfect Fall night. Manuel’s parents had a early flight on Saturday morning. They rented a car and were at our house around 9:00 am. I was up making coffee and cooking bacon so the house smelled yummy when they got there. (Unfortunately, just blocks from arriving at our house, they got a call that their dog had unexpectedly passed away at Petsmart. It definitely was […]
Life is Good and Busy!
I haven’t been here in two weeks! I have most of the day to myself today, so on my agenda first thing is getting in a blog post. This post is one of those that is all over the place and I likely have a lot of run on sentences and I repeat things. Forgive me. Think of this as though you are reading my diary. Basically, you are. First of all, life is good. The leaves are turning and it’s been nice and cool outside and I am loving it. Coffee on the deck with a blanket in the cool morning air with all of the beautiful colors? I’m all in! Or am I Fall in? Ha! Walking makes me happy. Walking in this makes me even happier. Breakfast with mom. Pumpkin everything also makes me happy, but mostly any way I can have a Pumpkin Spiced Coffee. Love all of […]

Planning For a Busy Month
I thought carpet was coming next week. Now carpet is going to be delivered on the 22nd. It was my hope to have the entire upstairs completed by the second weekend in October. Tess and Manuel are coming in town the last weekend in October along with his parents and his sister. They are all coming in for a wedding shower that their friend is throwing. I’ve asked them all to stay at the house and I’m looking forward to spending as much time together as we can while they are here in town. It will be a time crunch to get everything done those last few days. I never really thought about all of the work put into replacing carpet’s in all of the bedrooms and the bedroom closets. I seriously feel like we are moving and I hate moving! 🙄🙄🙄 Things will get done. Even if they didn’t […]
You Had Me At Pumpkin Spice
Yep. Love it all. Pumpkin Spice everything! I’m that girl. Coffee drinks, bread, candles and even the color of Pumpkins! I bought Pumpkins for the porch a few days ago, and with October 1st yesterday, I let myself Fall into an entire Pumpkin day. Yesterday was a great self-care day. I enjoyed my coffee on the deck (Yes, it was Pumpkin Spice coffee!) while writing my blog post. I took a ridiculously long shower in our new shower. We don’t have a shower door yet but Mike did put up a temporary shower curtain so I could use it. I was in heaven. Mike may have to put me on a hot water budget. Pictures coming soon! After doing my at home physical therapy in the shower (the hot water really relaxes those muscles!) I went to my physical therapy appointment. My walk the day before really did a number […]

WW
Are you ready for WW? Last Monday, Weight Watchers publicly announced that they were changing their name to WW. That is not an acronym. That is simply the new name of the company. Tagline? Wellness that Works. I am so excited to be a part of this company during this rebranding. Stay tuned, because there is more exciting news to come over the next several days. FYI….Freestyle is not changing and SmartPoints are not changing. Are you a WW member? Do you have questions? Please comment here on the blog with any questions you have or feel free to send me an email. julesfarm@yahoo.com When WW went to Beyond The Scale a few years back, I was ecstatic to see them incorporating the importance of all of the areas of health that included so much more than just the number on the scale. It felt very personal to me. I […]
Bachelorette Weekend Success!
Happy Saturday my lovely readers! There is a chill in the air these last few mornings that I absolutely love! Perfect for sipping coffee in my robe. I am so happy to curl up in my bedroom with an enormous cup of coffee this morning and write this blog post. Yesterday’s mascara and all……but so cozy and happy. I drove home last Sunday from Dallas with one of my daughters and my daughter-in-law. We went to Dallas for my daughter Tess’ Bachelorette Party. That’s right. My daughter invited not only me, her mom, but she also invited her future Mother-In-Law to her Bachelorette party, and let me tell you, we had an absolute blast! I had so much fun watching my daughter spend time with some of the women in her life that mean so much to her. She invited childhood friends, college friends, people that she has met since moving […]
