Before I talk about day 1 of Whole30, let me just say that I love Weight Watchers. I love a challenge and I love an experiment and I am doing the Whole30 for several reasons, as listed in yesterday’s post. I will not be counting points during these 30 days, but I will still go to my Friday meetings, and I will always be a WW member. Now… Day 1 of Whole30 went really well. It was actually very easy. My husband said to me while eating dinner….”This is what we usually eat.” or something along those lines. I said….”I know, I just don’t get to have my fancy coffees or my wine buzz!” That being said, I was busy from the time my feet hit the floor yesterday morning until I climbed into bed last night, and we had nothing on the social calendar last night. I would imagine 30 […]

The Whole30
Before I talk Whole30, here’s a little update of the last few days. I’ve been kinda busy. I had an awesome day spent with a friend on Thursday….doing a lot of relaxing and enjoying this view. I had a full day on Friday that included working at the food truck, then watching the Royals game with a few friends at a sports bar. Saturday morning I participated in the Mustache Dash 5K with my friend, Rebecca! We had a great time. She finished in 29:03, while I came in a little later at 40:01. Not bad for a girl that really does not like to run. After running the 5K, I spent five hours on Saturday afternoon working on this seating area project in the front yard that I’m regretting starting, but determined to finish. I’m still not finished, but it’s making progress. Move mulch, place stones in dirt, moving mulch […]
Today…Eat Less, Move More
I’ve been eating out way too much this week, and I said that I would eat a healthy dinner at home last night, and I did. But…..I was out and about all day yesterday, and ate lunch at Chipotle. While I think I can make a pretty healthy choice at Chipotle, I added guac to my Bowl, and there was a ton of it! I scraped half of it off, then went back into that scraped off scoop and grabbed a couple of bites of it anyhow. I was gone for most of the day, then cooked dinner, then chatted with Mike about our days. When we sat down on the couch for the remainder of the evening a little after 8:00 pm, it was then that i was like….well crap! I completely forgot to take my walk today. So, I ate healthy food yesterday, but I ate too much […]
A Quiet Day
Yesterday was a quiet day. The weekend was busy enough, I was due for a quiet day. I worked helping prep food for the food truck for the lunches that are scheduled for the week. After that, I really wanted to cook something creative and tasty for dinner, but for some reason my dinner creativity just isn’t there lately, so I didn’t cook. I didn’t do any exercise. Except for getting out of bed first thing, my back did feel better yesterday from my little weekend tweak, but then all of a sudden STAB!! I’d feel a huge pain in the back, and that was super fun. The weather was cloudy and cold, which for some reason makes me want to wear cozy socks, sit by a fire, listen to music and sip on red wine. It also makes me want to take a bubble bath, listen to music and drink hot tea or […]
Weekend Update!
Mike left Thursday after work for a guys Golf Trip, and I had all sorts of things planned that I was going to get done. We had some landscape work done, and I had convinced myself that I could do a part of the project myself. Why? Why did I think that I could lay stepping stones and make a patio? I’m not sure why I thought that. Friday after working the Food Truck, I had planned to start, but Friday wore me out, so I decided to get started first thing Saturday morning. Saturday morning quickly turned into Saturday afternoon, and eventually I made it to the lawn and garden store, driving my neighbors pick up truck. I love trucks!! I finally found the stones that I wanted, and spent the next 30 minutes picking through the pile looking for the larger stones. It was like Jenga! With stones!! […]
Friday’s and Food
I wasn’t able to go to my WW meeting yesterday morning, but I did weigh at home, and my scale said 171. My scale hasn’t said anything below 172 in a really really long time. Friday’s have been my most challenging day in the food and drink department for a long time. It could be because it’s the beginning of the weekend. It could be because I have a few friends that are always up for a drink and apps with me on Friday afternoons. It could be because I go to my WW meetings on Friday’s, and I get a whole new allotment of WW Weekly 49 points to dip into aside from my 26 daily points. It’s likely a combo of all of those things. I do know this. Friday’s and not overdoing can be a challenge. Breakfast yesterday, great. Lunch, not bad. I ate my yogurt that I took […]
Lot’s of Standing……
How many activity points for standing all day long? I helped prep food for the Food Truck yesterday. I knew it could be a long day, so I packed a lunch. I had no idea just how long the day would be, but the two of us prepped food from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Sidney, the owner, was still at it when I left, but I feared I would come home to doggie business on the carpet if I didn’t get home soon. Anyhow, it was a long day standing and chopping and mixing and washing and stocking the truck. It’s days like this that a Fitbit might not be a bad idea just to see how active I was. I’m not giving myself activity points for the day, because I have no idea how many I would give myself, but I was pooped when I got home. I […]
Feel Good, Be Positive
By not handling the unexpected very well on Tuesday, I sent myself into eating some of my activity points, which I wasn’t going to do this week. Yesterday, I didn’t realize how little points I had eaten until I sat down to track my food last night. It seemed silly to eat something at 9:30 just to consume some calories, and I didn’t feel hungry, so hopefully the last two days will balance each other out nicely. I didn’t get any exercise in on Tuesday, then yesterday I had time for a 5 Mile walk, and I mowed the yard. I drank 100+ ounces of water yesterday, and while working at the food truck, I only had a taste of the Rueben sandwich that we tried out yesterday, then I ate the greek yogurt and fruit that I brought. I think the week is ending great! I feel good, I feel positive. […]
The Unexpected
My mom showed up with some cute little mini multi grain croissants yesterday when she came for coffee. It was one of those times where it was just easier to have one with mom than explain why I didn’t want to eat one. When she left, I threw the remaining four away. I really liked them and I knew that I would end up eating all of them. I had plans to meet girlfriends for a birthday celebration, and right when i pulled into the parking lot, I had decided that I would order something point friendly off of the menu, and that I would drink coffee, not wine. When I walked in, they had a table in the bar, and the waiter had just filled up three glasses with wine, one for each of us. I drank 1/2 price wine and shared 1/2 price appetizers. I didn’t handle the unexpected very well […]
Pretty and Clean
Yesterday in a nutshell. I walked 3 miles. I registered for a 5K. Yippee! I finally made it over to visit a friend of mine who has a new baby. Adorable. I forgot how much Mike and I both love Quinoa. I’m addicted to these stupid sweat pants that I bought at Walmart a few weeks ago. Yep, bought em in Dark Gray, Light Gray, Black and Light Gray Capri’s! The most important thing to me when deciding what to wear for the day? Being comfy. This is what you will find me in 90% of the time. Tank top and comfy pants. Seriously though, who would NOT want these Walmart gems??? Guys….they have pockets! Oh, and…my doggies were groomed yesterday and now they are pretty and clean. Speaking of pretty and clean….. We’ve been doing a few things around the house to clean it up since it is 16 years old. […]
