I made a grocery store stop on the way home from my Weight Watcher meeting yesterday. This was the first thing I saw when I walked in the door! I had heard of Cotton Candy grapes before, but I had never seen them. They truly taste like Cotton Candy. Have you had them?? Then I saw this awesome deal, so I stocked up! I made myself a nice big salad and headed home. Mike and I went to Grandparents Day at our Granddaughters Kindergarten class yesterday afternoon. I love this kid. She is loving school and all of the activities and her new friends. She is listening so intently to Grandpa’s story of how he walked to school 5 miles in the snow. Just kidding. The teacher had the kids ask the grandparents how they got to school when they were kids and what their favorite part of school […]

How Many Activity Points for Sweating?
I’ve talked a lot about the Food Truck this week, but I’ve had good reason. Yesterday was crazy hot in that thing. Somedays we get a hint of a breeze coming in the truck, and other days nothing. Yesterday was a no breeze kinda day and with the grill, the oven and three burners going, it’s gets hot in there! Within just a few minutes of being there, I was sweating like crazy. That sounds so unappealing as far as the food goes. Basically, I wiped my face a lot with paper towels and I just kept drinking water. Guess what exercise I did for the day? Hot Yoga. Yep. After four hours of sweating, I chose to sweat some more. I felt a bit dizzy in class. Don’t worry, I drank 140 ounces of water yesterday. I’m not really one of those people that sweats easily. Never have been. […]
What I Didn’t Eat
If you read my blog regularly, you know that I work for a friend of mine that bought a food truck a few years ago. I thought the whole Food Truck idea sounded like a lot of fun, so when she bought it, I told her that if she ever needed any help, to let me know. She did. I love this little part time job of mine! I take the orders on most days and I have so much fun chatting with people who are excited to be there and eat her yummy food! People say the nicest things. Some people say weird things too. Some people just trust the menu and order as is, and a few people ask questions. Those are maybe my favorite. “What’s good here?” “Is the mac and cheese any good?” “I’d like the taco’s, but I don’t like spicy food. Is the jalapeño aioli […]
Toothless Tucker…
My poor Little Tucker Man went to have his teeth cleaned yesterday (his breath smelled like rotten Tuna!) and he came home with 13 less teeth! He had his teeth cleaned about a year ago (again with the rotten tuna breath!) and came home with 5 less teeth. The Vet says that he apparently has a genetic issue that has caused his infected teeth. Poor guy. The Vet also told me that we will likely have to come back in less than a year and pull the rest of his teeth. There’s only a few left in there! Tucker is only five years old and otherwise super healthy and spunky. He definitely had a rough day yesterday though. Look at that face. He didn’t move all night long. Tucker, not such a great day in the health department. Me, a great day in the health department. I worked prepping food […]
One of Those Good Days!
I woke up knowing that yesterday had to be a really good day. I needed to make healthy choices. I needed to exercise. I needed to eat whole foods. I needed to makes good choices so that I could feel good. I did just what I needed to do and went to bed feeling great. The rest of the week will be great too. I had so much to talk about in yesterday’s post, I didn’t mention how my WW meeting went on Friday. I did not weigh in. That number can jack with my mood sometimes, and I didn’t want to go into the weekend feeling cranky. I will weigh on Friday. In our meeting last week, we discussed a “good week” and a “bad week”, or a “good day” and a “bad day” in our WW world, and what that means to us. It meant so many different […]
Loved the Weekend!
I’m so happy when my kiddo comes to town. I miss her like crazy, but it makes our visits all that more special. We had several things planned, and with so many food and drink challenges, my plan was to make the best choices that I could, and enjoy my daughter being in town. I picked up Tess and Manuel at the airport on Thursday morning. Our first stop, buy new Royals gear for the game on Saturday. Second stop, a little BBQ. I said I would order turkey, and I did. Turkey topped with slaw and a few stolen fries. I promised myself a Hot Yoga class on Thursday night, since my daughter and her boyfriend would be at a rehearsal dinner. Not really thinking about the fact that they would have my car, I did Hot Mowing instead. I know. I’m hilarious. I also promised myself that I would walk […]
A Wedding and a Royals game
It’s soooo true! I’m leaving in just a bit to pick up my daughter and her boyfriend, Tess and Manuel, from the airport. Tess is in a Wedding on Friday night, so the rehearsal dinner is tonight, we will all be at the reception on Friday night, and then on Saturday, we have my nephew’s graduation party in the afternoon, (he just got his PhD!) and then off to the KC Royals game Saturday night. It’s going to be a busy and fun weekend and of course, I’m always giddy when I get to see my kiddo! I always post what I’ve had to eat for the day (or the last two days) and how many points I’ve had to eat. This has been a really unorganized WW week. I’ve planned nothing, I never really did grocery shop. Dinner on Tuesday night was literally nothing. I made some Tuna salad, […]
Crystal Bridges Museum
WW Points Life has been busy and fun these last several days, but for food…..I’ve eaten way too much! I’ve tracked everything as best as I could. I’ve guessed on a lot of items over the last few days. I feel like it’s better to have an idea where I’m at than to not know at all. I’ve eaten my 49 Weekly Extra Points, I’ve eaten the activity points that I’ve earned, and I’ve eaten a few points that have now put me in the negative. The best thing that I can do is to keep tracking. This weekend coming up includes a visit from my daughter and her boyfriend, a wedding and our first KC Royals game this season. I’ll keep exercising, drinking water, thinking positive, making the best choices that I can in the different situations that I’m in, and tracking my points! The Museum Sunday morning, I slept […]
Eating Your Weeklies….
I really do look forward to my Friday morning WW meeting. Yes, I need the meeting, but I also love all of the members that are there. We talked about a lot of things at Friday’s meetings, but one of the things that we discussed was whether we eat our 49 extra Weekly Points or not. I have never been able to not dip into those. I’m surprised at how many people either don’t use them at all, or eat all of them, and have success in their weight loss. I usually eat them all, or at least half. My brain this last week or two has been on Weight Watcher thought over load. I’ve maintained my 172 pounds for over a year and a half now, and sometimes I would really like to be back at my goal weight of 160, and other days, I’m fine where I’m at. I’ve […]
Healthy Food, Happy Life
I’ll be quick today. Heading out the door to my Weight Watchers meeting this mooring. Yay! Instead of Jazzercise class yesterday, I went to Hot Yoga last night. I love both of my classes, but I’m going to try to alternate them. That Hot Yoga class really makes me feel awesome, strong, happy, so many good things…..it was a great way to end my WW week. Last night’s dinner….Grilled Chicken Taco Salad. Mike requested Grilled Chicken Salad all week, to which I replied….”That’s dumb.” I like to mix things up and I get bored easily. I had no desire to eat the same thing for dinner every night. Then I thought, let’s just see how many different salads I can come up with this week! This Weeks Salads Greek Grilled Chicken Skewers served with salad. Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken Salad BBQ Salad Cobb Salad Here are yesterday’s eats…. Breakfast – 7 […]
