It’s nice to see you, Friday!
This was a “fail” week in my Weight Watcher world. I didn’t track over a long weekend, and my workout schedule this week really sucked, except for the 6 miles and 700 stairs on Monday. (I swear I won’t mention it again.) My WW week begins on Friday, and I’ve not been this happy to start a new week in a while. I will say, it can be so easy on day 7 of a bad week to just say screw it, but I kept within my points yesterday and talked myself out of going to buy myself a big bowl of frozen yogurt filled with little bites of candy bars and cookie dough, which I was really wanting for some reason. Here are yesterday’s eats…… Pre-Breakfast – 1 PPV Un-Pictured Frothy Coffee Breakfast – 5 PPV Oatmeal with 2 T. PB2, topped with Banana Slices and Blueberries. My smiley face looks […]
Picture Day!
In honor of all of the kids going back to school and seeing their pictures all over Facebook yesterday, I decided to have my picture taken too. Okay, for realzzzz. My Passport is expiring and I lost my Costco card (more on Costco in just a sec). Yesterday I made the rounds and had my picture taken, both of which are awful. That’s what happens when you get one take. That doesn’t even look like me…….Hey Julie, open your eye’s!! Also on my “to do” list yesterday, price comparison at Walmart, Costco and Amazon Prime. I have been considering getting an Amazon Prime membership. It’s $99 a year, and they deliver right to your door, no shipping! I’ve recently found a few things on Amazon Prime that I wanted to purchase, and I liked the idea of items like Toilet Paper, Laundry Detergent and Dog Food being delivered to my […]
Um, ouch.
The 700 stairs on Monday really did a number on my calves! I decided I would be worthless at Yoga or Jazzercise yesterday, so I skipped them both. I had decided to do no exercise at all when I got this text at about 5:00 pm. “Walk?” Damn. I knew it was actually the best thing for my muscles. It wasn’t a long one, but I did go on a 2.5 mile walk, and it was good to stretch out those muscles. This morning however, I could barely walk down the stairs when I got out of bed. What a wuss!! Here are yesterday’s eats…… Pre-Breakfast – 1 PPV Frothy Coffee on the deck! No humidity and it was wonderful! Breakfast – 5 PPV Light English Muffin, toasted, with Laughing Cow Cheese Wedge and fresh berries, Egg Whites and Salsa. I’ll be having this Light English Muffin combo again! […]
6 Miles and 700 Stairs!
I’m not sure that I’ve done “stairs” since high school volleyball. If I have, I don’t remember it. I feel like that’s something that I would remember. My walking buddy, Becky, and I headed out for a hot afternoon walk on Monday. We took the long route (about a mile) to the high school, then we headed to the stadium. She suggested we do stairs. As we ran up the first set, she counted them. There were 40. Then we came down. We moved to the next row and did it again. We did all four rows of stairs, and I thought that we were done. She suggested that we do it again. We did. That’s 320 stairs! Then we took a 4 mile walk. We came back to the school and did the whole stair thing all over again, just like the first time. That’s 640 stars! Then it was decided […]
Vintage Glamping
I’ve had a busy several days that left little time for blogging, which happens occasionally. Thursday was spent prepping food all day with two others for the Food Truck. She had a full weekend of events and needed tons of stuff made. I could spend hours chopping in a kitchen and chatting away with girls, and that’s exactly what we did. Before all of the food prep, I made it to Jazzercise! Friday, we had the food truck downtown in the West Bottoms with four of us serving up yummy food to all sorts of friendly folks. Friday, after working the food truck, I drove to Branson, Missouri, where my dad and stepmom were attending their very first “Vintage Camping” event. I was super excited to drive down and visit and take a look at all of the campers! I got home Saturday night and slept in on Sunday. Then […]
Cleaning Up Shop
I had several blog post go out last night. My daughter (who likes a lot of the same foods that I like) had recently mentioned to me that she has had a hard time finding a couple of my simple recipes, and that a few of them needed a little more instruction for the less experienced cook. I don’t claim to be an experienced cook at all, but I understood where she was coming from and appreciated the constructive criticism. Like my body and my health, my blog is a work in progress. I took her advice and revised a few recipes and then rewrote a few all together. I’m now going through each item under my recipe tab, one at a time, and making the necessary changes. Forgive me if you are a subscriber and you get a few extra post throughout the next couple of weeks, but hopefully in the end, it’s […]
Warm Cinnamon Apples
So simple. These taste great over a bowl of Oatmeal! Even as a tasty side dish. How about on top of your pancakes? “love the life you live, live the life you love”
Banana Nut Butter Roll Up
I thought these made a great Gluten Free Snack. I don’t eat “Gluten Free”, but sometimes I just like to buy different products and give them a try. These are simple and this particular brand of tortilla reminds me of a pastry. Ingredients 1 Brown Rice Tortilla (3 PointsPlus) 1 T. of your favorite Nut Butter (Most Nut Butter’s are 3 PointsPlus for 1 Tablespoon) 1 Banana Honey to drizzle Directions It’s self explanatory, but I’ll tell you what I did just for fun. Spread Nut Butter on Tortilla. Roll up banana in tortilla. Slice and drizzle with honey. This is approximately 6 PointsPlus, so you might want to share these with your children. They will love you….more than they already do. (I’m fairly certain these would taste good on any kind of tortilla. There are no rules.) “love the life you live, live the life you love”
