I’m starting a Five Week Challenge today that includes a food and fitness plan. If you are new to the blog, let me update you on my weight loss journey. I reached my goal of 160 (actually a little below that) in July of 2013. I stayed there for about 6 months, and then found myself back in the mid 160’s through 2014. At the end of the 2014 holidays, I found myself at 179. I worked hard in January 2015 eating 26 points a day on Weight Watchers and I joined Jazzercise and continued to practice Yoga and walk. At the end of the month, I felt great and weighed 172. My body (not me so much) LOVES 172! The first week in February, I broke my collarbone, lost all motivation, and have remained at around 172 since. I haven’t been to a meeting since April 10th! I’ve been […]

Tess Came Home!
It was such a great weekend! My daughter came home for the weekend from Dallas and she brought the boyfriend! We had a lot on our agenda for the weekend, (including a 5K) but mostly, we were excited to get to spend time together and Tess wanted to introduce Manuel to Mike and her siblings. Mike and I picked up the kids late Thursday night at the airport and came home to get settled in for a nice long weekend. We had a beer and a good little chat before finally getting to bed late! It was a late night for Mike, considering he is usually in bed by 9:00! Friday, Tess and I wanted to show Manuel as much of Kansas City as we could, so after a healthy breakfast and a somewhat relaxing morning at the house (there was an emergency trip to the vet), we headed out for […]
Banana Oatmeal Cookies
I know that there are several varieties of these cookies all over Pinterest, and I truly think that if you like Oatmeal, and you like Banana’s, then you can’t mess these up. Since my daughter and her boyfriend will be here for a long weekend, I wanted to have something sweet around the house that I could snack on without eating a bunch of sugar and going way over on my points! I came up with these, and they hit the spot! We’ve got a busy weekend planned so I know getting a blog posted over the next few days is highly unlikely, but I’ll take pictures all weekend and do my best to not eat and drink too much! Looking forward to the 5K Saturday morning! We are picking up the kids at 9:00 tonight and I am SO excited to have them here! “love the life you live, […]
Busy Crazy Day…
Everything that didn’t get done on Monday, got done yesterday….along with the Tuesday “to do” list, AND….the Wednesday “to do” list! Oil changed, a menu made for the weekend, groceries bought, fridge cleaned out and stocked and a clean house! All I can think about is what a great weekend it is going to be with my daughter and her boyfriend here at the house! They are coming in Thursday night, then Friday is a full day of Kansas City stuff, Saturday is the 5K at the Chiefs stadium, and Sunday is family day at the house with grandparents and siblings stopping by for coffee or lunch and to hang out and meet the boyfriend! As productive as yesterday was, I ate too much bread, and I didn’t get to Jazzercise. It’s rainy and chilly outside right now and I am leaving soon to work at the Food Truck. These […]
Not Really the Day I Had Planned….
While Mishka, my 13 year old pup, was getting groomed yesterday, I got a text from the groomer. “Found a couple of fleas” The really weird thing is, I dreamt all night long that ants were crawling all over me and I kept waking up scratching! The dogs sleep with us. Basically, I was now disgusted for the rest of the day. Still am a little bit. I spent a lot of time cleaning yesterday. Then….. Mishka got sick. Vomiting, diarrhea and shaking. We went to the vet. I had a ridiculous reaction to all of the cats there and sneezed 150 times over the next few hours. Misha either was shaking or sleeping on my lap for the rest of the day. Now it’s boiled chicken and rice for the next two days for her, I felt like the parent of a sick infant trying to comfort her all day yesterday. I […]
Lot’s Happening Here Lately….
I’m having some issues with my blog. My “Subscribe” option under my picture on the right seems to completely disappear some days. If you’d like to subscribe, and you see that option to the right under my picture, then please try and hopefully it will work now! There also seems to be an issue with me finding “Comments” when you lovely readers take the time to comment! Please know that if you’ve been so kind to take the time to comment on my blog, that I am not ignoring you, I’m just having issues. I love it when readers comment! So please continue to do so and hopefully I will get all of the bugs worked out! OH! Speaking of bugs! I had whacky dreams all night long last night that ants were crawling on me, and the groomer just sent me a text that she found a couple of fleas on […]
I’m Seeking Patience
Basically, I ate crappy on Monday and Tuesday. Yesterday was much better. Today will be great! I’m having issues with my blog. In order to move forward on my blog, I need to update it. Before I update it, I need to back it up. I know how to do neither of these two things. I’m looking into some “blogging guidance” to get me through some of the issues I’m running into lately, so bare with me, please. I also see now that I am not seeing when you wonderful readers comment on my blog. I love the interaction with you all, so hopefully I can figure out why I’m not seeing your comments! Please continue to comment, and I’ll get it all figured out and get caught up in replying to you! Have a Happy and Healthy Day! “love the life you live, live the life you love”
The Perfect Day
It was the perfect Mother’s Day yesterday! My mom came out for coffee, then our kids (except for Tess in Dallas…so sad) and grandkids came over for dinner. We played games, chatted and had the perfect evening. I did all the cooking, but sometimes, I like it that way. I made Pioneer Woman’s Baked BBQ Chicken Thighs and a Mexican Pasta Salad. I loved dinner. Eating more this weekend than I was hoping too, but really did have an awesome day yesterday! These are two of my favorite pictures! We played Hedbanz, because….well, why wouldn’t you? She insisted on squeezing everyones nose as a handle each time she changed out the game cards. She’s a mess. Happy Mother’s Day!
I started off my Saturday with Hot Yoga, which was a great way to get in a good healthy mind set for the day. I ate breakfast at home, then went to a graduation party that was filled with all sorts of my favorite foods! It was a Brunch party and all of the food looked so good! Pancakes cooked as you waited, tons of toppings for the pancakes, biscuits and gravy, bagels, fruit and mini quiches are just a few of the things that I saw. I tried to avoid the food table. I did end up having a small Mimosa and One Mini Quiche. Not too bad I thought. I went home and made myself a big spinach salad before heading out for the rest of the afternoon. We had a family dinner at a BBQ place last night, and they had very few low point options to chose from. […]
