Have you ever packed a snack to go, then left the house without it? I have such good intentions sometimes, but this is something I’ve done often. I’m trying to eat breakfast just a little bit later, and pack a snack to have with me around noon so I don’t eat too many points for lunch while I’m working at the Food Truck. I know this is a good idea for me, and when I remember to take my snack with me, it’s a successful plan! Yesterday, I peeled an orange and cut up an apple so I would have a snack to take with me when I left the house. As I put it back in the fridge, I thought….I know I’m going to forget to take that with me when I leave. So I put my car keys in the fridge. Yes, I did panic for two […]

Lovin’ Jazz
I’ve made it to Jazzercise two day’s in a row and if I haven’t made it clear yet, I’m really loving’ Jazz, Jazzercise that is. I really do like an exercise class environment and I’ve been there long enough now, that most of the steps are beginning to make sense and I don’t feel like such an idiot, and that’s alway a nice feeling. The no idiot thing. I was successful at not over doing it while working at the Food Truck yesterday. Yay! I’m working there again today and tomorrow. Again, I followed my own advice and ate breakfast right before leaving the house just before 10:00, and I took two apples to eat when the smell of the burgers cooking got my taste buds all worked up! I ate my apples, and had one pork taco with no tortilla, so I had lunch at the Food Truck without […]
A Little Busy, a Little Fun
Sunday’s top to bottom cleaning and painting of the laundry room turned into a full on cleaning frenzy on Monday! The house feels fresh and clean! We did however discover that our 16 year old A/C unit finally does need to be replaced! At least we found that out in the first week of May vs. the middle of August! Tuesday was a full day of appointments. One at 9:00, one at 10:30, and one at 2;00. After a busy day, I met a friend at 4:30 for Jazzercise, then we did a little Cinco De Mayo dinner with some friends at a nearby Mexican Restaurant. I hope you all are having a great week! Here are the eats for the last two days…….. Breakfast Egg Roll 5 PPV I forgot how much I love these! Lunch Turkey Burger, 1/2 Light English Muffin 7 g Cheese, 30 g […]
Laundry Room Update
Before the Laundry Room fun, Mike and I had a party to go to yesterday. Several of our friends have high school seniors this year, so there are lots of graduation parties on the calendar this month! Yesterday was a combined party of five graduates with friends and family. I thought it was a great idea to combine the parties and the venue, along with the food, was awesome! Along with some great BBQ, beer and wine were offered. Mike and I went through the food line and before reaching the bar, Mike handed me a bottle of water? Whatever…….I’ll get a beer after we eat. Well, I can say that I had no alcoholic beverages yesterday. The graduates did a great job of mingling with the guest. It was great to see so many friends that we hadn’t seen in forever and Mike and I got so busy chatting, […]
Apparently, Life is just one big Party!!
Well, it’s Sunday, and the weekend has just been one big party in my mouth and belly, and the party will likely show up on my thighs and butt by Wednesday. The beautiful weather has made it just too hard for me to say no to beverages. I’m not beating myself up right now, because honestly, I’ve had a great weekend and lot’s of fun, and what’s the point of beating myself up? I’m sure by Wednesday, I’ll be irritated with myself. The last two day’s have been the strangest food day’s that I’ve had in a long time. I worked at the Food Truck on Friday, so I ate a big breakfast right before leaving the house for the day. We were swamped at the Food Truck, so none of us ever did take the time to eat. When we closed up, we were all starving, and one of […]
Shopping Day at Mom’s House
I went to visit my mom for a little while yesterday afternoon, and she noticed I was wearing a bracelet that she had given me years ago. It originally belonged to my Great Aunt, who passed away many years ago. She was one of those ladies that you would describe as a “real character” and I adored her. I remember always looking at the bracelet and playing with it when my aunt wore it. It’s a charm bracelet, and every charm has a great story. I wear it when I’m feeling a little ornery. The bracelet reminded my mom of some more jewelry that she was ready to pass down. I’m the only daughter. 🙂 My grandma (who passed a few years ago, and was also a real hoot!) and my Great Aunt (they lived next door to each other!) had a lot of great jewelry and I always remember as a […]
Alway’s Nice When a Plan Work’s
Large or Small…..it’s alway’s nice when a plan works. I worked at the Food Truck yesterday and while I was there, I only ate an apple that I brought from home and some cheese! Working at the food truck more frequently has made it difficult for me to not indulge and go over on my points for the day. When I do eat at the food truck, I am guessing on points too, so it can be a Weight Watcher challenge for certain! Yesterday, I took my own advice and ate a late breakfast that included lots of protein in hopes that it would keep me full until I got home, and I took an apple. I’ve also been drinking Diet Coke while working at the food truck. It taste so great with that spicy food! Yesterday, I skipped the Diet Coke and had three bottles of water! Now….if I can […]
Time for a Project….
I spent most of the day yesterday shopping for items to decorate my laundry room. We have lived here for almost 16 years, and I’ve never done anything fun in there. It’s a fairly small laundry room, so it’s not like I’m putting a chase lounge in there or anything, I just want to perk it up a bit. I did paint a few random flowers on the walls a few years ago, but it’s always looked a bit cheesy, and after spending a little time on Pinterest, I decided I needed a small project. Hopefully that gets done tomorrow! 🙂 On Monday, I went out to dinner, but I had made Mike a meatloaf. I’m not sure what I did wrong because this recipe taste awesome every time I make it, but for some reason, it just wasn’t great. Mike choked it down. Last night, I made a big skillet […]
Happy and Healthy
A lot on the “to do” list today, so I’m out the door early. Yesterday was a great Happy and Healthy day, and that’s my focus right now. I went to Jazzercise, and I’m loving that class more and more! I went to dinner afterwards with a girlfriend and I kept my beer drinking to just one. However, there was some sort of a delicious Cinnamon Biscuit that came out with my Salmon Caesar Salad along with 2 large pieces of garlic toast?? What the HECK?? I’m not sure what the Cinnamon Biscuit was all about, but I ordered a cup of coffee and thoroughly enjoyed it! I left the garlic toast alone….well, except for a taste. Here are yesterday’s eats! Have a great day! Breakfast Light English Muffin Scrambled Egg Whites, 14 g Cheddar 30 g Avocado, Smashed with Lime Juice and Sea Salt Grapes Frothy Coffee 7 PPV […]
Not “In The Zone”
I wasn’t sure if to title this post….. Not “In The Zone”….or…. “Happy and Healthy” Confusing…right? I am definitely Not “In The Zone” these last several days with my food choices! I’m drinking my water and I feel good about the exercise I’m doing, but the food and drink??? When I am “In The Zone”, I am constantly telling myself that it really isn’t that hard, and that I feel great! I think no matter what I weigh, being “In The Zone” feels good to me mentally. It feels good because I feel strong. I feel confident. I eat without any guilt. When I am Not “In The Zone”, I feel rushed because I am grabbing something to eat without planning and thinking about the quality of the food, I feel guilty about the food and drink choices that I make, and I feel lazy for not being “In The […]
