June and Gratitude

What a great month it was. I chose a “word” for the year at the beginning of 2019. My word is “Mindful”. I also went into 2019 knowing for a fact that the year would bring many wonderful things for me and my family, A few weeks back at the WW Studios the topic was Gratitude. I love this topic. I love discussing my passion for the word “gratitude” and how practicing gratitude can impact your daily life and your health and happiness. I feel like I have regularly practiced gratitude for a really long time. It’s what gets me through the tough stuff, big and small, and keeps me living life with a positive attitude. I’m grateful for so many things on a daily basis. Grateful for family and friends, a job, a roof over my head, fresh water at my fingertips, the opportunity to buy and prepare delicious food, […]

My Little Girl is Married

They did it!  I only have a few pictures to share as I put my phone down for the night and soaked it all in. Everything was absolutely perfect. Better than I could have imagined. I want to do Saturday all over again. I’ll write a long post tonight or in the morning, but I wanted to share just a peek of a few pictures others took. I love these two so much!   They had a party bus for the wedding party between the ceremony and the wedding. I have a few good stories about the below picture, but this was a planned stop. Cracks me up.   Four of the best friends a girl could have.   Manuel and his parents surprised Tess with a Mariachi Band! They were the hit of the night and the only people that knew they would be there were Manuel, his parents, […]

One Week From Today

One week from today, my little girl will be married. I am feeling so many emotions. I’ve been spending so much time recently reflecting over the last 27 years of my life, and of my daughters life. I’m having a really proud mom moment right now. I am just so happy for Tess and Manuel, but also so happy for all four of our kiddos. (Mike and I blended our families when we married in 1999. Mike has a son, Jake, and two daughters, Kate and Anne.) Tess is the youngest of the four and the last one to marry. Mike and I will celebrate our 20th Anniversary in May and when I think about all of the life that has happened over the last 20 years for he and I and our four kids, I can’t imagine what the next 20 years has in store for us and our family. […]

Number Five

Now that I’ve mastered the voice command for blogging….this is one long post! It’s just me, sitting in bed with coffee this morning while it rains, talking into my phone. This is the perfect morning! Ha! On Thursday afternoon I picked up my first ever prescription glasses. They are progressive lenses. When I first put them on I assured the lady helping me that the prescription must be wrong. I couldn’t see a thing! She then assured me that the prescription was correct and that progressive lenses would take me a while to get used to. You guys, learning how to walk down stairs with progressives on is NO JOKE! A picture I sent to one of my grandkids last night. I can see! I should’ve been wearing prescription glasses a long time ago, which I knew. I have been getting by with the readers for a long time. She […]

Back to Work!

It felt great to go to my employee meeting on Sunday, but it felt even better to get back to Leading Weight Watcher meetings on Monday! After a little planning time at home, I was out the door. It was so nice to see all of my members and receive such great hugs from everyone. I love my members! I love that job! I love my co-workers! I work a mid-morning meeting and a late afternoon meeting on Monday, so in between the two, I got my walk in. Nothing bad happened yesterday. I know. It’s just weird. Have a great day!! Here is what I ate!  Breakfast – 4 SP So I guess I am really enjoying this bar! I ordered a case of them yesterday! I also ordered the Pumpkin Spice!   Lunch – 12 SP Over the weekend, I bought a Pre-made salad at the grocery store […]

Good News!

When someone says to you…. “I have bad news and good news. What do you want first?” I always say give me the bad news first. I wanna walk away remembering the good news, and hopefully it is so good, you put the bad news to the back of your brain and focus on the good. Here goes…. Bad…but really just more of a bummer Mike has to wait much longer than anticipated to see the doctor. Good..but really more like GREAT news! Our daughter and her family can move back into their home this weekend! Family and Friends are awesome and so are kids. They all make me want to be a better person. I got my drain tubes removed yesterday and I got some temporary boobs!   The Bummer Stuff The dermatologist office called yesterday to tell Mike that he can’t be seen by the new doctor until Monday, […]

You’re Probably Not Going to Believe This….

Remember just a few weeks ago, when I basically blogged about food and activity and fun stuff?? The week was going great. We were making huge progress in getting our daughter and her family back into their home after the flood just a few weeks ago. We even made waffles on Sunday morning and I counted steps at least one day in the past week. Things were feeling good and there was a light at the end of the tunnel. We cleaned really good on Sunday (right after our waffle feast!) and wrapped up a few things on Monday. The carpet was to be installed Tuesday and Mike was going to finish up the new trim. They just needed a few furniture pieces and we could move the kids and grand kids back into their home this coming weekend. Nope. The house flooded again Tuesday morning. 26 days after the first flood. […]
