I have been a fan of Target Stores for a long time. I kind of joke sometimes about how I didn’t know other stores existed. I like Target for a lot of reasons. I REALLY like the Target Super Stores! I like to get a Starbuck’s and wander through the store. If you live in Kansas, you know that we can’t buy liquor in our stores, but being so close to the Missouri state line, I like to hop over to the Missouri Target store on occasion where I can pick up a few bottles of wine too! I find myself looking through the clothes, the shoes, the accessories, the home items. I can pick up socks, batteries, mascara, and dinner. What’s NOT to love??? Oh, and my mom works there, and through all of her health issues and the time that she has had to take off these past […]

I’ve Missed You, Blog!!
Let’s Get Caught Up! I don’t think since I began blogging two and a half years ago, I’ve missed that many days in a row! I blogged on Tuesday morning, and I said in my post that my blogs would be short and simple, but I didn’t think I’d skip them all together! Well, here it is Sunday morning and I feel like I have sooo much to say! Let me start with, I haven’t been sleeping so great, which means I haven’t been waking up as easily as normal, which means by the time I DID get out of bed these last few days, it was time to head out the door and I didn’t have a spare two hours to blog. Since having rotator cuff surgery in February, my right shoulder is getting stronger and stronger, which means I am using it more and more and getting closer […]
Bacon Egg and Cheese, Please….
I said yesterday that I had a busy week ahead and that my post would be simple, likely boring too. Sorry. 🙂 Yesterday was an awesome and productive day that included a nice long walk with a friend at Shawnee Mission Park! I’m getting together with girl friends for breakfast this morning to discuss our upcoming “Chicago Girls Trip”!! After breakfast I am going shopping for Thanksgiving Dinner and then I’m baking Pumpkin Bars, as requested by my Mother-In-Law for Thanksgiving Day. I’ve never made them, so I’m trying a recipe to see how it goes. If it’s really really good, then my neighbors will be getting a treat tonight!! Here are yesterday’s eats! Breakfast Idea No. 9 Bacon Egg and Cheese, Please 1 Egg + 1 Egg White (2 PPV) 1 Piece of Cooked Bacon, Chopped (1 PPV) 1/4 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese (2 PPV) 1 Tablespoon Salsa […]
A Great Sunday!
It was the perfect Sunday (well, almost….I really wanted the Chief’s to win) that included sleeping in, a yummy breakfast, coffee on the couch with Mike and the dogs, and later, a great visit to the Dog Park with Tucker! I’d had a really busy week, so I was looking forward to having absolutely nothing planned for Sunday! It is another busy week ahead though, so I would imagine that my post will be short and to the point for the next few days. My weight is hanging around 153-155, and my goal for the rest of November and December is to not let my weight go OVER 155! I plan to enjoy the special food that comes with the Holidays, but I also plan to track my food and not go overboard on anything. I had an exercise plan for this past week, and I didn’t stick to it […]
Tips for Eating a Lighter Thanksgiving Meal!
Tips for Eating Lighter at Your Thanksgiving Day Dinner! It was a busy day on Saturday and I didn’t get a chance to write a blog post! I hate missing a day! At my WW Meeting on Friday, we discussed tips for making the best choices when it comes to our Thanksgiving Meal! These are the tips I plan to use, especially since we do Thanksgiving at my In-Laws on Thursday, and another Thanksgiving Dinner at our house with my side of the family on Saturday. 1. Take a long walk in the morning. 2. If you do appetizers, make sure you have low point options available. 3. Drink a big glass of water before you fill up your plate. 4. As you go through the line, if you see a dish that isn’t your favorite, give yourself the “Okay” to skip it. 5. If you do want to […]
Coat Shopping? Okay.
Shopping! I am quite pleased that weighing under 160 (currently holding steady at 155) for the first time in my life since High School has officially made a difference in what size clothes I wear. My large and extra large tops are for the most part, out of my closet. They just look frumpy. I’ve taken ALL of the size 12 pants out of my closet. I now have ONE pair of Black Jeans/Pants and TWO pairs of regular jeans. That’s it. Oh, and lots of cozy sweats and leggings. 🙂 I am taking a trip to Chicago in December and I know I need a coat. I have a couple of Wool coats that I put on, and they really just look silly. So, I’m shopping. I found these two at Burlington, and I will likely take one back, but I couldn’t decide and they were priced quite nice! […]
Girlfriends Rock!!
“Girlfriend Time!” I went to the “Pink” Concert on Tuesday night, hence the “No Blog Post” Wednesday morning. (A girl needs her sleep!!) Just a few ladies from the neighborhood took a small party bus downtown to the concert. (They’re were over 20 of us and I think this old school bus was an EXTENDED cab!! It was CRAZY long!) Here’s a few of the girls. You Gotta Love a Pre-Party!! One of my favorite things to do is hang out with the girls. My High School girl’s, neighborhood girl’s, girl friends I’ve met through work, Weight Watcher girlfriends….I just love my girl friends. I feel lucky to live in the city where I’ve grown up because I have friends that have been in my life for a really long time, and I feel blessed to have friends in my life that are new to me! I feel blessed […]
11-12-13!
It’s supposed to be a lucky day! Yesterday was a great day! I hope today is just as great! I am going to the “Pink” concert tonight with about 20 other women and we are taking a “Party Bus”, so I am going to assume that today isn’t going to suck. Yesterday, a very crafty friend of mine invited a few girlfriends over to decorate wine bottles with Christmas themes on them! She did a few wine bottles and beer bottles of her own over Halloween and they were a big hit with all of us! We all had her doing bottles for us. She decided to have us over to decorate our own wine bottles! She was prepared too! She had bottles prepped for us, she had paint, paint brushes, ribbon, lights to go inside of them, cut outs….the whole shebang!!! We had so much fun! Look at […]
A Successful Day Full of Food Challenges…..
A Baby Shower and Birthday Dinner! I’m keeping this post fairly short and simple today. I had a late breakfast, then ran a bunch of errands on Sunday morning. I had only been home for a few minutes when it was time to hop in the car and head to the Baby shower. (We’re having a new Grand-baby around the beginning of February, but a special post with permission from mom on that to follow!) It was about 1:30 and I knew when I got to the shower that there would be all sorts of yummy food to eat, and I could get myself into trouble, so I quickly (too quickly) ate a piece of leftover Salmon, then I grabbed a few almonds and a water to go! I was right, there was an incredible amount of yummy foods at the shower, but I never picked up a plate, and […]
5 PPV Breakfast Challenge!
Yip, that’s right. I really enjoyed my “Four Weeks of Chicken” challenge and how it made me think outside of the box for dinner idea’s. Like I’ve recently said, I just seem to do better with a plan. I get bored and I like a variety, so I’m looking forward to my Breakfast Challenge. I am going to make 14 different breakfast items, all for 5 PPV or less, for the next two weeks. I am going to keep these simple. No fancy recipes (I don’t have any of those anyhow….), no fancy ingredients, just a few of the different ways that I like to eat my eggs, a few different toppings that I like to put on my yogurt or oatmeal, and a few different bread options that are high in protein, low in fat and low in WW Points Plus Values. These will all be “Breakfast for One”, but […]
