One Long Day

Yesterday was one of those days that I thought would never end. I still had so many things to get done last night at 9:00. I finally turned off the lights and walked away from it all. I like going to bed with all things done, the kitchen counter tops empty, the blankets folded and put away in the living room. You know, things are done. I feel restless if I go to bed with things unfinished. I’ve gone to bed before with things “undone” and had to get up and do them so I could go to sleep. I know. I’m weird. I know. I know. I worked my meeting yesterday, where I have some of the best WW members out there. Last week we talked about numbers and how they describe us, but they do NOT define us. When the members walked in to weigh yesterday, I had […]

Books On Tape? Anyone?

I like to switch things up once in a while, so yesterday I picked a WW meeting to go to that I’ve never been to, then found a park to walk in that I’ve never walked in, and I finished listening to my book on tape, which I’ve never done before. The WW meeting was great and I love the Leader, Liz. The park had more moms and kids under the age of 5 than anything I’ve ever seen. I like the way that my book ended. Have you ever listened to a book on tape? I’m not sure how I feel about it. This particular book is a memoir and was narrated by the the author.   The voice that she spoke with through the entire book was very monotone. The memoir is about her upbringing as a child in a polygamist family and her story was very sad.  I found […]

Hello Monday!!

It’s going to be a full week and starting my Sunday off with a hot yoga class was the perfect way to get the week going! I meal prepped yesterday, worked at getting in a lot of water and made mental notes about the rest of the week and the best times to get my steps in. Today starts my first ever StepBet! I follow Amy at myjourney2goal on Instagram and she is doing a Step Bet that starts today and last for 6 weeks. From Amy….. “Here is how it works: -You must have an Apple Watch or Fitbit to participate. -Pay $40 -StepBet calculates your step goals based on your recent activity. You have 4 active days, 2 stretch days & 1 “free” day. -The first week is a “warm-up” week so you don’t have to make your goals that week, though I highly encourage it! -Everyone who […]

I’ve Been Busy Drinking & Eating (kinda…)

When I skip a few days of blogging it either means that the days are just too busy to fit in a blog, or I’m eating and drinking crap and I need to figure out why so I can blog about it. lol Well, both of these things happen to be true here. I have been busy and I’ve also been busy eating and drinking. After working my early morning meeting on Thursday, I ran a couple of errands, then met some girlfriends for a birthday lunch for a friend where we sipped on wine.   My salad was delicious! The dressing on the side really wasn’t even needed with all of the deliciousness already in this bowl.   After lunch a few of us went to a patio for a cold beer (okay, we had two cold beers.) I went for a long walk when I got home, then […]

Work, Eat, Step, Sleep, Repeat….

It was a busy and rainy day at the food truck on Wednesday. We even had a four legged friend stop by!   His name was Petey and he was delighted to have a bite of burger!   We could tell that he was not enjoying the rain. After a burger, we were able to get his name and number from his collar and call his owner, who happened to be out looking for him. Happy Ending! After coming home from the truck, the sun finally came out! I got some steps in before dinner.   After dinner I crashed. I think I was asleep by 9:30 and it was heaven. That is all. More of the same for the rest of the week. I’ll try to come up with something exciting to say tomorrow. 🙂 Breakfast – 7 SP Scrambled Egg Whites topped with Smashed Avocado, Light English Muffin topped […]

Grillin in the Rain….

After working my WW meeting yesterday, I called my mom to see if she would like to meet for lunch. It was a perfect day for a short walk in Downtown Overland Park and it was good to get her out of the house. We had a good girly chat. When I got home, I had inventory to do. The one part of the WW At Work Leader job that I must admit that I don’t love, is the mini store you basically keep at your house. Four times a year you do inventory, and yesterday was my first experience at that.  After inventory, I had food on the brain. I had bought all of the ingredients the day before for the dinner I had in mind. I make a lot of recipes from Trina over at Paleonewbie.com. Every time I make one of her recipes, I love it! Yesterday […]

A Happy Long Weekend

Such a great long weekend. Everything that I hoped that it would be. I picked up my daughter Tess and her boyfriend Manuel at the airport early Friday morning. We spent Friday morning and afternoon relaxing and getting caught up. Our phone chats are always good, but those in person convo’s curled up on the couch or sitting on the deck with a cup of joe are always so much better. Friday night was a family get together that included two month old granddaughter, Wrenley and two week old grandson, Sawyer. Wrenley is so big already!   Sawyer is just a little newbie still. So sweet.   The evening was spent holding and kissing babies. Who needs anything more? Oh, and maybe dogs.   I love those cheeks!   Such a proud Papa! So sweet to see Jake with his little girl.   Uncle Jake meeting Sawyer for the first time.   Sawyer […]

Time Off….

I’m not taking the weekend off of tracking. I’m going to track like a WW fool over this long weekend because we have a lot going on and I want to feel good about my choices at the end of the weekend, but I am taking the weekend off of blogging so there is plenty of time for family fun. I picked up my daughter Tess and her boyfriend Manuel early this morning and we plan to spend the weekend holding babies and spending time with family. A cookout here tonight and spontaneous stuff for the rest of the weekend. I hope that you all have a great weekend and be safe! I hope that you get an extra day off to enjoy family and friends. We started off our morning with these pancakes! I made the Big Ass Waffle batter and made pancakes. We shared the recipe for one which […]

So….Just Food Again

Wednesday was spent working at the food truck, then paying bills and paperwork crud, then dinner, then a 90 minute bath and some reading. You know you might be in there too long when you have to add hot water…..twice. It really did feel good. I did crappy on steps yesterday, but I forgot to mention in the post before that I had a great step day on Tuesday. Yesterday – Blah Blah Blah….whatever. Standing in the food truck for four hours doesn’t give you ANY step cred!!     Tuesday – A nice walk with Becky as we got caught up with each other. Okay, food… Breakfast – 6 SP Pancakes made using the Big Ass Waffle batter. Topped with Warm Cinnamon Apples and 1 T. Pure Maple Syrup   Lunch – 12 SP I packed some raw veggies and an egg to take to the food truck. I had a Burger with […]
