Good Bye Old Friend
Oh don’t worry. That’s just me being dramatic. I have had this relationship with coffee since my teens. My mom always had a pot of coffee on every morning, and most evenings. It was comforting. It always smelled so good. There was just something about sitting down with a cup of coffee that made everything better. Wait. Maybe it was the pastry or cookies that we had with it that was comforting. Well, whatever it was, it still is, because I have coffee on ALL the time! I drank it black for years. Then out of the blue, I needed a change. I do that a lot. Change things. Move furniture, paint a room, mow the lawn in a circle (true story), rearrange wall hangings, make the sock drawer the underwear drawer, cut all of my hair off, paint my nails purple, add creamer to my coffee! Can you believe […]

Mom’s Taco Salad
My mom had a lot of staple dinner’s growing up, and this is one of my favorites, but modified just a bit. I like to combine lean ground beef and lean ground turkey. I dice one onion and cook it with my beef and turkey. If you don’t have one of these handy little tools to chop up your ground meat, I highly recommend it! Mine is Pampered Chef and it was $10. It really chops the meat up fine and that’s how I really like my taco meat! Makes me think Taco Bell! My mom would always add a can of kidney beans, but I love black beans,so that’s what I add. A few other changes I have made…….Reduced Fat Cheddar, Fat Free Catalina (the dressing is what makes this Mom’s!), nonfat Greek plain yogurt, and I really don’t miss the nacho Cheese Doritos ( ok, sometimes I do, […]
She Ain’t Heavy….She’s my Mother
Seriously…..my mom is 4′ 8″ and weighs 75 lbs. And I am NOT adopted! I guess I just got more dad genes than mom genes. I did get her charming personality! – Posted using BlogPress from my iPad
Breakfast Omelette
Pears are on of my favorite fruits. A good ripe pair is so juicy and tasty. They are an excellent source of fiber (6 grams) and a good source of vitamin C for only 100 calories per serving. There is nothing more filling than one of my big breakfast omelets. Today I did 4 egg whites, 2 turkey sausage links (next time one will be plenty) and a laughing cow cheese wedge. Fold this over and top with a little salsa for a big breakfast! Want a little something sweet and point free in your coffee? Sugar free (sweetened with nutra sweet?) Torani flavored sweeteners! Today I used Hazelnut. Yum! I guess I was trying to see how many pictures I could get in this mornings breakfast! Here is my 6 Points Plus Values Saturday morning breakfast! Me and Jane
So while I seem to be at a stand still with my weight, I do like to change my look a lot. My hair started turning gray a LONG LONG time ago, and my hairdresser told me to embrace it. So I did. I think she has saved me a gazillion dollars! I love to change my cut. I recently took in a picture of a celebrity and said….”I want this”. It was Jane Fonda. She is 74. I just kinda like old people stuff. Any who…….. Jane…..in case you confuse us. Me……again……in case you’re confused. I’m younger. Oh, and today I made myself go to the gym, now I am late for Happy Hour!Gotta go! Posted using BlogPress from my iPad
My Biggest Supporter
So I said to my husband last night, during a commercial break of American Idol (I LOVE Phil Phillips!), “I think I need you to be just be mean to me.” He’s like “What?”. I said, with great sarcasm, “Maybe you just need to call me Fatty McFarmer or something so I can move forward”. I told him how I was just really feeling down on myself and I was really disappointed in myself with where I was in my weight loss. I explained how I felt like my part time afternoon job was fulfilling, but I really wanted to be doing more and I had hoped at this time I would be at my weight loss goals and be working as a Weight Watchers Leader. Here is what the genius said……. “You should just treat your weight loss like a job. Make yourself go to the gym in the […]
