Fish

Before I blog about anything else, you have to know that I saw this on Instagram yesterday, and I want it badly!! I thought about it all night long. Is she adorable?? I would imagine only happy things happen when she is around. Ahhhhhh……… I wanted fish and potatoes for dinner. I don’t know why. I just did. I’d like to start eating more fish and seafood at home, but for some reason I have always been hesitant to learn how to cook it? I made scallops one time not too long ago. We both loved them and it was an easy recipe. I prefer shrimp fajita’s over steak or chicken, but I have only cooked shrimp a handful of times at home.  Salmon is my all time favorite, and I have finally mastered it in the skillet. I wanted fish last night. Mike is not a fan of salmon, […]

New Shoes and a Purge

Monday I hopped on the treadmill (not due to bad weather, but due to some dumb show I can’t get away from on Netflix) and walked a slow 4 miles. When I got off, I called the doctor and made an appointment. It seemed like time to figure out what I need to do other than what I am already doing for my foot. On Tuesday, I decided new shoes might help. I’m not really over due, but it is time for a new pair. I bought two new pair yesterday and after walking in one of the new pairs from 2:00 pm until about 9:00 pm, my foot feels so much better. I do love my shoe store. I’ve bought my last 12 pair of walking shoes there. The 10th pair was $100 off! Elite Feet is family owned and the last two times that I have been in there, Leslie […]

March 41st

March 41st is when I plan to finish my 100 Miles in March. Work with me here, okay? My last post was on a Friday, (over a week ago!!) and I had walked ZERO miles that day. Below are the three days that followed that ZERO day. Saturday – 5 miles Sunday – 3 miles Monday – 6 miles Monday evening… Tuesday After working on Tuesday, I picked up my mom and we went to visit my cousin in the nursing home. I came home, cooked dinner, ate, then hopped on the treadmill. I walked 1/4 of a mile and felt like there was a knife in my heel, so I stepped off. I’ve talked just briefly about thinking I have Plantar Fasciitis. I haven’t been to the doctor, but after talking to several friends and looking up my symptoms online, I am self diagnosing and I think it’s Plantar Fasciitis.  […]

0 Miles

My house was really needing some TLC this week and I was beginning to think it wasn’t going to get any. I consider myself to be a tidy person, so things are pretty much in order. The kitchen and bathrooms are kept clean, but when it comes to vacuuming and dusting and mopping, those things seem to fall to the bottom of the list. Yesterday…. Vacuum entire house Mop all floors Dust Balance Check Book Pay Bills Gather Tax Information Unpack boxes delivered for my At Work and organize I knew that it might rain and that I should walk my miles early in the day or jump on the treadmill. At some point in the middle of afternoon while knee deep in my “to do’s”, I made the decision to continue to attack my list and skip the walk. It will put me even further behind on my challenge, […]

Mostly Food

I got to walk with Becky yesterday. We can walk and talk and get in some miles without even thinking about it. My pups needed a short walk after too in order for me to get in 6 miles yesterday. Yesterday was pretty packed and I am feeling really caught up on things around the house. I even pulled all of the weeds from the landscape last night after dinner and I trimmed down all of the monkey grass! That makes your back feel great!! (not) Yesterday morning I made a “to go” breakfast before walking out the door just before 7:00 a.m. Toast with a smashed Banana and Almond Butter. It was too messy to eat while I was driving and by the time I had reached my destination it just tasted gross. I ate a few bites before realizing it was truly disgusting and threw the rest away. Why did I […]

#walk #walkwithfriends #walkingchallenge #walk100miles

I headed out yesterday determined to get in a 5 mile walk. About a mile into my walk, I saw a friend starting her walk. We continued on together and it was great to get caught up and the time just flew by! Yay!   It felt good to finally get in a good long walk. I hope I see her again tomorrow!! And every other day for the rest of the month!!! Well, then well after that too. She’s super sweet.   I like the way my tracker looks now with all of those fitpoints!   Here are yesterday’s eats… Breakfast – 9 SP Scrambled Egg Whites with 1 Laughing Cow Cheese Wedge stirred in and topped with Tomatoes. 1/2 Serving Gluten Free Oats with cinnamon, diced Apple, 1 T. Almond Butter and a honey drizzle.   Lunch – 11 SP I worked at the Food Truck yesterday and […]

Walkin and Talkin

This week in Weight Watchers, we are asking “Is It Worth It?” What foods are worth it to you, and what foods are not? I love hearing all of the different answers and hearing how members are fitting those foods that are worth it into their day, and hearing what substitutions they have come up with for foods that are not worth it to them. Yesterday when I asked, “What is one food that is totally worth it to you?” One member replied, “Beer”. You guys know me. I was standing right beside her and I held up my hand to high five her. She just looked at me. Everyone laughed. I said, “I need a high five! I love beer too!” She said…”Oh, I thought you wanted to slap me!” We all got a good laugh and the meeting just took off from there. I LOVE THIS GROUP!   […]

WW Members Motivate Me!

I have loved going to my Weight Watcher meetings for a long time and I have been very vocal about that. There is something to be said about being surrounded by a group of people with the same goal in mind, sharing the same struggles and sharing successes along the way. My schedule hasn’t allowed me to attend my own meeting in several weeks, but being a WW employee now has provided me with the opportunity to regularly be surrounded by these awesome people and be motivated by them. I subbed as a Weight Watcher Leader in one of our stores yesterday and I LOVED it! WW members truly are just the best people to be around! Whether attending a WW meeting as a member or as an employee, WW members motivate me to be my best self, and I love them for that! I am truly loving working as […]

Winter Spring Summer…all within days.

We drove home from the lake in a little bit of sleet last weekend. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground. This weekend I took a walk in the beautiful 70 degree weather on Saturday and yesterday Kansas City broke a record for a high of 89! I do love a variety! We continue to get outside and enjoy it! I’ve heard that once you start updating things around the house, it’s hard to stop. Mike has been talking about updating the Master Bathroom for a long time. I try not to get too excited when he talks about projects like this because sometimes when he is talking about doing it, he is really just thinking about doing it, then I get antsy and irritated. Me? Once I get an idea in my head, I can’t stop thinking about it until its done.  Well, I think painting the […]

Winery Fun!

Mike and I are both knocking things off of our “to do list” while trying to work in some good down time too! After a productive Saturday morning, we spent the afternoon at a Winery with friends, then ended the evening at their house grilling out and enjoying this gorgeous weather. Here is my WW tracker at the end of the day. I used 69 points!! I used all of my daily points, my weekly points and my fitpoints that I had earned. I’m in the hole 1!!! I got up Sunday to get some miles in so I could be back in the positive! Whew!! We had a great day with friends. I didn’t beat myself up over it and I actually gave myself a pat on the back for tracking it all. It was the perfect day for the Winery! Live music, a food truck, friends and sunshine. All things that make […]
