Busy Week, Feeling Good

Tuesday night I went to the tasting party that I told you that I would share more info about this weekend, and I will. Wednesday night I had book club. Aka…Wine Club. (( stared at, but did not eat ONE Peanut M&M!) Thursday night, we had a birthday dinner for my dad. Happy Birthday today, Pops! I took him an individual size cake. No temptation there for me! I worked WW meetings on Tuesday and Thursday, and the Food Truck Wednesday and Thursday, and again today, so a busier than usual week. Loving the busy week and the beautiful weather that has accompanied it! I’ve missed being able to go to my Friday morning WW meetings, so I’m going to sneak in there for just a bit this morning before heading off to work at the food truck. I hope you all have a great weekend planned and that the […]

It’s a Small World

I will be finishing up my Weight Watcher Leader training in Dallas in December. For the meantime, I have been lucky enough to be working as a receptionist at a few meetings during the week. I am doing a bit of a “job share” with a coworker on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, and we are quickly becoming friends. We both attended a Job Fair back in June where we introduced ourselves to one another, then realized that we had at one time attended the same WW meeting. We were both hired after attending that job fair. We have been texting and calling each other throughout our training with questions ever since. We are discovering that we have quite a bit in common, but more interesting than that? We have daughters that are the same age and they know each other from college! We went to lunch last week, and after even more […]

A PJ Day

Occasionally, there’s nothing better than a day at home in your pj’s. Anybody else think so? All of that organizing over the weekend made me think of a few more things that I could organize! lol. So, I did! In my PJ’s. I drank lots of coffee, I drank lots of water, and I didn’t even think about getting dressed until well after 3:00 pm. I loved it! I had decided to get outside, so I walked the dogs, then I took a walk with a friend. After my walk, I started dinner. I had plenty of leftover Meatballs, but I had a weird craving for Beef Stroganoff? What the heck? I’m sure I saw it on an Instagram feed or Facebook. Anyhow, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Turkey, onions, celery, seasoning, broth, mushrooms and just a little sour cream. I had roasted some potatoes and carrots to eat along […]

Time for a Regroup

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! It was a beautiful weekend here! The mornings and evenings were cool, and I was loving it! I took a few walks with the dogs and a few walks without the dogs. I sipped on a lot of coffee, some on the deck and some while running my errands with the windows down.  We spent Saturday at a friends house sitting around the fire pit sharing stories that we hadn’t shared in a long time. Lots of laughs and it was my favorite part of the weekend! I did do a little work too. I worked on Friday at the food truck and I worked two meetings at Weight Watchers on Saturday morning.  Yesterday? I spent all day yesterday regrouping. I had several things that I needed to address ranging from my schedule/calendar, my desk, the checkbook, a food plan for the week, […]

Bird Free. Thank Goodness!

Tuesday I had the back door open so the dogs could come and go for a bit. While sipping on some coffee, a bird flew in my house! I freaked out, opened all the doors to the house and ran out the front door. When I decided to come back inside, I realized that I would have no idea if the bird had decided to fly out the back door, or stay in. After searching the house while carrying an open umbrella (It just seemed like a good idea at the time. That sparrow was GIGANTIC!), I felt fairly certain that the bird had gone back outside, where he belonged. Thank goodness! Wednesday I got in a walk after working at the Food Truck and I am loving the subtle changes that I am seeing in the trees. Now if it could just be a bit cooler? We spent the […]

Well, Hello.

It’s been a heck of a few days and each time I would sit down to get a blog post written, something came up or I just wasn’t feeling great. I got an antibiotic on Thursday for a possible sinus infection. My head feels better, but still not great, and I finally got out for a walk with a friend on Sunday, my first exercise in a week! Mike’s birthday is on Halloween, and we had all sorts of little fun things planned over the weekend, then only ended up doing a few of those things. Boo hiss hiss. Yesterday, I was feeling pretty good and I really wanted Mike to have a nice birthday, so I tried to fill his day with Tricks and Treats and birthday surprises. He could not have thanked me any more last night for a great birthday, so mission accomplished. This morning we had no […]

I Need to Whine

I’ve had five days in a row of no structure, a very large headache and a lack of sleep. These last two days, my back has been acting up. I haven’t had time to sit down and write a blog like I like to write and I am now behind on updating the blog recipes. Ugh. For the last several days, I have felt as though a cold was coming on, but I wasn’t sure if I was actually getting sick, or if allergies are just trying to kill me. I’m still undecided, and I still feel like crap. Saturday, I ate a good breakfast, had a Larabar for lunch in the car, a Tuna Salad sandwich for dinner in the car at 6:00 and a bowl of soup and a beer at about 8:30. Sunday I ate a normal brunch type breakfast, then went to our sons house where I […]

It’s A Girl!!!

On Sunday, our son and daughter-in-law, Jake and Jordan, had both sides of the family over for a reveal party! Remember back in the old days when you didn’t have a clue if it was a boy or a girl until the baby was born????? Ahhhh…..the good old days. lol. We even got to see a 3-D sonogram picture!! Adorable. Of course. Jordan went all out with the party and everything was so stinkin cute! This was on the porch right before walking into the house.   Then we had to guess. I knew it was a girl! 🙂 You can see my “Gigi” bow on the bottom right.   So excited to watch our family grow!   Jake is our oldest, and this is their first!   The whole house was decorated so darned cute! The smell of Hot Cider in the kitchen filled the house.   Jordan’s dad and […]

A Chill Friday

Our Friday started off with a WW meeting, then Tess had lunch with a friend while I got a few things marked off of my To Do List. Friday afternoon Tess wasn’t feeling so well  🙁 We did run a few errands together, then ended up chilling at the house in the evening. I grilled out a bunch of food, and roasted a bunch of food, then forgot to take a picture of my dinner plate. 🙂 Tess woke up early Saturday morning feeling better, so we went to an 8:00 am Hot Yoga Class. Yay. I had a training session from 2:00-6:00 in the afternoon, so Tess spent some time with her sister-in-law, Jordan. Jordan and Jake were having ALL of the family (both sides) over on Sunday for a reveal party and Tess wanted to help her grocery shop. Saturday night we kept things simple and Mike and Tess […]

Enjoying Some Family Time

I’ll keep this short today. My daughter came in town from Dallas yesterday and we have a fairly full and long weekend planned. Before the weekend got too busy, we were able to enjoy some nice down time yesterday afternoon. We ended our day with a Hot Yoga class last night, then dinner at home. We are starting a 30 Day Yoga Challenge together, and I’ll blog more about that tomorrow! Today we went to my Friday morning WW meeting, and not only was it great for me to get to a meeting, it was great to have her there with me! We will be counting points and exercising together this weekend, while also getting in some good quality time spent with family. Here are yesterday’s eats….. I hope you all have a beautiful weekend! Breakfast – 5 SP Banana with Almond Butter and an Un-Pictured Nonfat Latte   Lunch – […]
