Staying Accountable

The last few days have been crazy and I don’t like it when I’m not blogging my food. Knowing that I am going to blog what I eat, even when I’m eating too much food, or eating foods that I don’t typically eat, or drinking more beers than I had planned to, helps keep me accountable and helps me to not get too far off track. Please excuse any typo’s or anything that doesn’t make any sense at all. There is a two year running around the house, so I’m a bit distracted. (How can she get so many things out in SO little time??) Here is what I ate Wednesday and Thursday, then I’ll follow with a my usual blog of what I’ve been up to…if the two year old allows it, that is. Wednesday Breakfast – 7 SP I haven’t had Oatmeal in forever! Oatmeal with one smashed Banana […]

Making a Plan…or Not

My plan for yesterday  Plan meals for the rest of the week. Weight, Measure and Track. Exercise Drink plenty of water. What actually happened yesterday I planned dinner for two nights and bought some eggs for breakfast. Worked the food truck, didn’t take my lunch, guessed on points. Worked in the yard for 90 minutes mowing, edging and pulling weeds. Drank 140 ounces of water. The day went about halfway right. I’m out the door to work the Food Truck again. I’m taking my lunch today! 🙂 Here are yesterday’s eats…. Breakfast – 8 SP Two Eggs, Sweet Potato Hash and Berries   Lunch – 15 SP? Un-Pictured Bites of Chicken Salad – 3 SP? Great Weekend!

I had a great long weekend in Dallas with my kiddo! We got in some exercise, had some great long chats, we did a little shopping, we ate some yummy meals out, we danced and sang for hours at the Dixie Chicks concert, we hung out at the swimming pool, we saw a lot of her friends, we went to church and brunch on Sunday and we even got in a little house work, meal planning and grocery shopping. Thursday, Tess introduced me to her knew Step Class and I loved it! We worked up a good sweat and had a great time. Friday we went to her WW meeting. Her meeting is so similar to mine. A great lively crowd excited to see one another, motivate and support one another and build friendships. Tess made us some overnight oats to eat at the meeting. Have you ever had Overnight […]

Dallas and the Dixie Chicks

It was a record day at the food truck yesterday. I think that was the busiest day that we have ever had in our Wednesday spot. And….it was hotter than H – E –  Double Hockey sticks!!! I came home and took a cold shower and decided not to do any exercise. I’m fairly certain that I earned some activity points in the truck. If I didn’t, I lost a pound in sweat.  I may have snap chatted a few things. 🙂 I’m headed to Dallas today to visit Tess, my daughter. She asked me several months ago if I wanted to come down and go to the Dixie Chicks concert, and I jumped on it! I did find out yesterday that we are attending an OUTDOOR concert and it’s going to be close to 100. Fun you guys!! (Major eye roll here) Ah, I’m kidding. We are going to have […]

Hot Day, Active Day

I decided that yesterday I would make up for my lack of activity on Monday. I walked the dogs before it got too hot, then I walked myself while it was getting hot, then I mowed the yard and it was too dang hot. I then took a long drive down the highway with the top down and by the end of the day, I had some color on my arms and shoulders! On my long drive, I stopped at the lake and sat under a shade tree for a bit, ya know, just soaking up a summer day. In the parking lot, they have one of these Little Free Library’s, which I have blogged about in the past, and still would like to have one in my yard one day. I think it’s super cute. Let’s just say, I didn’t have a lot going on yesterday, and I didn’t […]

Planning

I spent yesterday doing a lot of planning, but not meal planning. I mentioned a while back that Mike and I would be taking some trips this year. Reminder, with a kid that works for an airline, mom and dad fly for free! We’ve decided to take advantage of that this year. Okay, I decided, Mike agreed that it was a good idea. 🙂 We have a few trips coming up this month, then a few more planned for the rest of the year.  August – Dallas, Vegas, Dallas again, Nashville September – North Carolina to the beach with girlfriends. October – NYC November…My birthday month…maybe New Orleans? Nothing in black and white yet. Yesterday, I was focused on our NYC trip. We are staying in Times Square, we have tickets to a Broadway Musical and I think I’m buying a City Pass that I understand gets us around to […]

Lazy Sundayzzzz

I love a lazy Sunday, and that is pretty much what yesterday was. Mike watched golf (allllll day long) and I can’t really tell you what I did. Too many cups of coffee in the morning and not quite enough water in the afternoon. That much I do know. I did get in a good walk outside yesterday afternoon with a friend, and then I took both pups out for a sniff and stroll.  I folded one load of towels that I washed four days ago, and I peeled and deveined some wild fresh shrimp for my very first time. Um, that took forever and was honestly kinda gross. The very nice man at the Whole Foods Sea Food Counter told me exactly how to do this. I need a better knife. I can say however, that dinner was delicious! I may do this again someday. I made a good chore […]

Some Weekend Fun

Pre-menopause or not, I’ve been in a really good mood since finding out that I got the job on Wednesday! I was nervous that it wasn’t real until I got the email with the New Hire Paperwork, then I was giddy all over again. Thanks for all of your sweet and supportive comments! It’s been a good weekend with a nice mix of fun and chill time as well. This morning? Coffee and couch time while it rains. We have a neighborhood bar that is a mile down the street with a great patio. Perfect for when we want to go out, but have no desire to go to far. The weather was perfect Friday night for listening to some live music outside, so we headed out for a date night. We hadn’t heard the guy that was singing before, but we really liked him.  During the evening, he came over to us […]

My Weight Watcher Goals

Join Weight Watchers and get to goal weight.  Never quit going to Weight Watcher Meetings. Start a Blog about Weight Watchers. Become a Weight Watcher Leader. I promised myself that when I joined Weight Watchers in 2009 (for the fifth or sixth time?) that it would be the last time that I would join. I had decided that I would get to my goal weight, and that I would go to Weight Watcher meetings for the rest of my life. In 2011, I began blogging about my journey to a healthier me. I kept my blog to myself for one year to see if I was committed to blogging. It was my hope that by keeping a regular journal (my blog), that I would learn something about myself and my relationship with food. I wanted to understand why food played such an important part in my life outside of my nutritional needs. […]

Crazy, Not Crazy

So I did a lot of reading last night about hormones, women and turning 50. Maybe I’m not really crazy, I just act crazy every few days, and I need to be okay with that. Hopefully Mike will be okay with that too. So far, he hasn’t left me (or asked me to leave). Keep your fingers crossed for me. Yesterday the temperature outside was practically normal, so my friend Becky and I got in a good walk, and it had been a while. It felt good to get some fresh air and get a walk in outside. I found these recently at Whole Foods and I really like them! They have several flavors and they all seem to be Whole30 compliant. These made for an easy dinner last night on the grill. This flavor – 1 Link = 2 SmartPoints. 2 Links = 5 SmartPoints. Keeping it short today. I’m […]
