An Active Day!

Yesterday’s Activites I’m loving this walking challenge! The more I exercise, the more energy I have, and I can feel that energy from head to toe. What a great feeling! Don’t get me wrong, I went to bed pooped last night, but I was spunky and full of energy all day yesterday, and I loved it! After working at the food truck, I came home and changed clothes so I could head outside and get my walking miles in. My friend, Becky, said she would walk with me, and walking with a friend always makes the time go faster. After our walk, I decided yesterday was the day to get the Roller Blades out. Becky is the one that encouraged me to buy them so that we could Roller Blade together. She wanted me to get them out on Monday, but I just wasn’t ready. Yesterday, I put both Roller Blades on […]

They Keep Me on My Toes!

Tucker Last week, I took the Pups to Doggie Day Care for a couple of days while I went on a girls trip. Misha is doing great and I got a wonderful report on her while I was on my trip. After my trip, I picked them up and brought them home. The trip home in the car was uneventful. Nobody pooped or pee’d in the car from nerves or excitement (it happens), but I could tell that they both were anxious to get home.. I swear they were smiling. The dogs usually get out of the car in the garage and go straight to the door to the house, eager to get in the house and sniff the comforting smells of home. As I spun around in a 180 with my hands full (dog food, leashes, my purse), I saw it happening before I could stop it. As I […]

Just a Little Celebrating

Happy Anniversary, Blog First of all, today is my Five Year Blogging Anniversary! Yep, five years ago today, I started this little blog of mine as a journal to keep myself accountable with my food, my weight, my exercise and my health, and at times, my sanity.  Below is my very first blog post…..   “This is day one of my blog. It has taken me about six weeks to figure out how to do a blog………probably shouldn’t be admitting that? I hope by putting it all out there, I will be able to reach my weight loss goal with a little humor, and hopefully encourage others to do the same. I plan to blog about the food I eat, my excercise routine, my mood and how it affects my weight loss, and recipes I’ve found that make the weight loss journey and the lifestyle change a bit more enjoyable! […]

Mom Time, Date Night

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We did here. Saturday was full and lots of fun. I slept in a bit. then I made breakfast and ate outside on the deck. I love eating outside, whether at home or going out.   I was headed to my moms house for most of the afternoon, so I packed my lunch.   Mom and I worked on a project for most of the afternoon. She has had this little Ice Cream Table and Chairs forever, and they needed cleaning up and a fresh coat of paint. Cute, huh? Her house, inside and out, is always so welcoming.    After a busy afternoon, I went on a relaxing dinner date with this stud in his new ride. He’s like a teenage boy right now. It’s kind of adorable.   Date night included a yummy dinner with this Salmon dish. Bacon Butter Jam!   […]

A Full Day, and Another One Ahead

We had a super busy day working the Food Truck in the West Bottoms of Kansas City on First Friday yesterday. That, along with our regular Wednesday location, is one of our busiest lunches and we dish out some food! Along with Burgers, Pork Taco’s and Crawfish Mac and Cheese, we served up about 25 of these yummy Chicken Salad Sandwiches. Her Chicken Salad is to die for! Guys, seriously.   After about 5 hours on our feet, we went outside, sat in the shade (it reached about 88 degrees yesterday!) and drank some cold beer. (This is my friend, Renee. We’ve know each other for about 30 years. I think I’ve mentioned that before. Anywho, I’ve sucked her into the food truck fun, and were having a great t time working together.) She would KILL me for posting this picture! Shhh.   When I got home, look what was sitting in my […]

Loving it Outside

Yesterday was spent mostly outside, and I loved it. Today’s high? 82. It should be another beautiful day spent outside! Yesterday I walked, I mowed, and I babysat Char and we went to a patio party for Cinco De Mayo. I walked 5 miles yesterday and that puts my total miles for the month at 12. I’d like to have 25 miles in by the 8th, and that means 4+ miles a day for the next three days. How’s everyone doing on the 100 Mile Walking Challenge? Keep me posted! I mowed my yard yesterday and now everything is so nice and green, it’s time for some flowers. Mother’s Day weekend always seems like a great weekend to do that, so maybe I’ll get some purchased today. I filled up the crockpot with frozen Chicken Breast, Homemade Taco Seasoning and Salsa, so we will be eating on that for a few […]

A Little Girly Time

Every once in a while, ya gotta get away. I left on Monday afternoon for a short girls trip with a few friends, and came home Wednesday morning just in time to work at the Food Truck. It was the perfect little two day break. Fire Pits, Four Wheelers, Food, Friends and Fun. I did not count points. I ate things that I don’t usually eat. I drank beer and wine, but I didn’t go overboard. I forgot to drink water the first day, and made up for it the second day. I took my walking shoes so I could get some miles in, and I ended up walking ZERO miles, so I’ve got some catching up to do! After work yesterday, I got in a three mile walk, then ran a few errands, then went back out and got in another two miles. I’m off today, and plan to enjoy […]

Yoga, Brunch and a Walk

It was a great Sunday. It started off with a Hot Yoga class with my niece by my side. Her and I have been trying to get to my Yoga class together for a while, and it finally happened. She loved the class, and I knew that she would.  After Yoga, her and I headed over to my mom’s house for Brunch. Mom did a great job of planning the menu around what would please us all, and we really appreciated that! She even poached me some eggs!   After Brunch at mom’s, I had a busy afternoon in the kitchen. I’m leaving for a couple of days, and I like to leave Mike with plenty of food cooked up for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He told me “Thank You” all afternoon. I started my “May Challenge – 100 Miles” yesterday. I love doing these walking challenges, and it’s been too long since […]

May Challenge – 100 Miles – Join Me!

Life Stuff First of all, absolutely everything from my garage sale is gone and I am ecstatic! My dad came over for coffee and a chat during the sale on Saturday. Knowing I didn’t want any stuff left after the sale, he offered to take it all to his house for his sale in a few weeks. I could not have loaded up his truck any quicker! Hallelujah! And….Mike has has been shopping for a “Fun Car” to take for a drive with the top down and play with on the weekends. You know, in all of his spare time. Okay, that’s kind of a joke because the guy works a lot of hours, but hopefully now that he has a new toy, he will take a little more time off to play, and I will join him. Yay! After a lot of shopping and looking and test driving, he found one yesterday. […]

Selling More Stuff!

Garage Sale I woke up feeling a little spunky yesterday and prepared for a good day. My Garage Sale yesterday was more successful than I thought that it was going to be, especially since not one person came from 7:00 – 8:00? Anyhow, I was selling and giving stuff away left and right and made all sorts of new friends. I’m a terrible sales person. If I got to talking to somebody for a long time, I was like…..”You know what? Just take it. I’m donating everything that doesn’t sale anyhow.” One lady and I started up a conversation about Book Club while she looked through some of my older books, then I came inside and got the Rosie Project, one of the books that I just finished, and gave it to her. She was so appreciative! Remember the Random Act of Kindness I said that I would do the other […]
