How many activity points for standing all day long? I helped prep food for the Food Truck yesterday. I knew it could be a long day, so I packed a lunch. I had no idea just how long the day would be, but the two of us prepped food from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Sidney, the owner, was still at it when I left, but I feared I would come home to doggie business on the carpet if I didn’t get home soon. Anyhow, it was a long day standing and chopping and mixing and washing and stocking the truck. It’s days like this that a Fitbit might not be a bad idea just to see how active I was. I’m not giving myself activity points for the day, because I have no idea how many I would give myself, but I was pooped when I got home. I […]

Feel Good, Be Positive
By not handling the unexpected very well on Tuesday, I sent myself into eating some of my activity points, which I wasn’t going to do this week. Yesterday, I didn’t realize how little points I had eaten until I sat down to track my food last night. It seemed silly to eat something at 9:30 just to consume some calories, and I didn’t feel hungry, so hopefully the last two days will balance each other out nicely. I didn’t get any exercise in on Tuesday, then yesterday I had time for a 5 Mile walk, and I mowed the yard. I drank 100+ ounces of water yesterday, and while working at the food truck, I only had a taste of the Rueben sandwich that we tried out yesterday, then I ate the greek yogurt and fruit that I brought. I think the week is ending great! I feel good, I feel positive. […]
The Unexpected
My mom showed up with some cute little mini multi grain croissants yesterday when she came for coffee. It was one of those times where it was just easier to have one with mom than explain why I didn’t want to eat one. When she left, I threw the remaining four away. I really liked them and I knew that I would end up eating all of them. I had plans to meet girlfriends for a birthday celebration, and right when i pulled into the parking lot, I had decided that I would order something point friendly off of the menu, and that I would drink coffee, not wine. When I walked in, they had a table in the bar, and the waiter had just filled up three glasses with wine, one for each of us. I drank 1/2 price wine and shared 1/2 price appetizers. I didn’t handle the unexpected very well […]
Pretty and Clean
Yesterday in a nutshell. I walked 3 miles. I registered for a 5K. Yippee! I finally made it over to visit a friend of mine who has a new baby. Adorable. I forgot how much Mike and I both love Quinoa. I’m addicted to these stupid sweat pants that I bought at Walmart a few weeks ago. Yep, bought em in Dark Gray, Light Gray, Black and Light Gray Capri’s! The most important thing to me when deciding what to wear for the day? Being comfy. This is what you will find me in 90% of the time. Tank top and comfy pants. Seriously though, who would NOT want these Walmart gems??? Guys….they have pockets! Oh, and…my doggies were groomed yesterday and now they are pretty and clean. Speaking of pretty and clean….. We’ve been doing a few things around the house to clean it up since it is 16 years old. […]
Dates and Dates
Happy Monday! Look at the little coffee cup a friend of mine bought me over the weekend. Isn’t it the cutest? This morning I made myself a Pumpkin Spice Frothy Coffee and enjoyed it on the deck. I completely forgot to mention the fact that the birthday party that Mike and I went to on Saturday night had a special meaning for the two of us. On September 27th, 1996, Mike and I had our very first date at that same friends 30 birthday party! We had a great date night this Saturday celebrating our first date, 19 years ago. Time flies when you’re having fun! Speaking of dates…. Do you eat dates? I just bought them in the bulk area of my grocery store. Thank you Ronda, for suggesting that I buy these. Ronda sent me THIS link to a video all about dates and I just watched it. Now I […]
Weekend Fun!
So much going on and so much to say about the last two days. After my WW meeting on Friday morning, Tess, my daughter, and I chatted about our WW meetings and the goals that we wanted to set for ourselves for the week. We talk about our meetings a lot, especially since we both go on Friday mornings, and we share what is working for us, and what we need to work on to improve. We decided to send each other our WW tracker at the end of each day this week to help keep each other accountable. We set goals for the week, for the month, and for the next 16 weeks. Weight Watchers is encouraging us to set goals. They can be non scale related goals, or not. My one week goal is to not eat any of my activity points, but to allow myself to eat my […]
Love my KC Royals!
Last night, the KC Royals won the American League Central Division, and it’s kind of a big deal. Last October was crazy fun in Kansas City with baseball fever everywhere, and here we go again! I’m looking forward to an October full of Royals baseball and Chiefs football and lots of energy in Kansas City! Yesterday was a busy and full day. Lot’s done at home before heading out to work at the Food Truck. We had a fun day with the food truck at the American Royal Youth Rodeo! I’ve sucked a good friend of mine into the Food Truck fun. That’s Renee on the left. We met almost 30 years ago.I think she enjoys this just as much as I do! We made a new sandwich yesterday that we haven’t had on the truck before. I was in charge of actually making them, and after handing several […]
What’s For Dinner?
I love to cook. I love being in the kitchen and coming up with something tasty to eat that is low in points. I love playing with different foods. Lately….I can not think of anything that sounds good to make for dinner. I was out of town all weekend and I knew that I was coming home on Sunday to an empty fridge, because that’s how I left it. Empty. I ran to the store and bought only stuff to make dinner that night. Monday, we never did eat dinner, which is really odd for us. Tuesday, breakfast food for dinner, because still, no grocery shopping and I almost always have eggs. Last night, a quick trip to the grocery store, having no idea what I was going to buy when I got there. I’m hungry, but nothing sounds good. I’m in a rut for sure as what to have […]
Life…
I’m that 80/20 person. Heck, maybe I’m that 70/30 person. I’m eating healthy and exercising……most of the time. I have not been at my goal weight of 160 for about a year and half, but have maintained a weight of 172. I have given up gluten, dairy, sugar, alcohol and even corn to get weight off at times. Right now, I’m not eliminating anything, I’m just making healthy choices…..most of the time. The last three days have literally been all over the place. Life. Right? I wanted to track every day this year, I have not. I have guessed on a lot of foods the last three days. I have not exercised hard (I did walk 2 of the last 3 days), I have not given the best effort to get all of my water in, and I really don’t know how many points I’ve eaten these last three days. […]
Dallas Visit
My daughter and I had chatted about me coming to visit her in Dallas this weekend. The trip was a bit up in the air, and then it all came together, so I’m here! Thursday morning left no time for blogging. Now I’ll try for a short one. I’m in bed with Tess right now drinking coffee and playing on our computers looking at recipes on Pinterest, outfits on Pinterest, trying to book a massage today, and enjoying good girly chat too. I was at the airport by 6:30 pm on Thursday for a 7:30 flight, then I got bumped to the 9:30 flight, that actually took off at 11:30, which landed me in Dallas at 1:07 am. It was a lovely evening at the airport watching the Chiefs lose. Friday we slept in and it was so nice to have nothing we had to do. After coffee and a […]
