Co-Pays…Deductibles….Out of Pocket…..

When it comes to insurance, I’m an idiot, and I admit it. I’m an idiot actually on a lot of topics, but this one is right up there at the top of all of the top topics!! Why can’t an office visit or a pill or a procedure just cost X amount of dollars. whether you have insurance or not. Why is the insurance company billed a different amount for a procedure than what they claim the procedure actually cost? Deductibles? We make a huge monthly payment….. Where’d that go?? Put THAT towards my deductible!! Co-Pay? But I already Co-Paid when I made my monthly payment! Now YOU pay, Mr. Insurance Company! Out of Pocket??? Who came up with that phrase? I pay. Insurance pays. Can we just call it what it is? Okay…….I went for my MRI yesterday. I’ve had shoulder issues for over two years now. The right […]

Cloudy and Cool…with a Chance of Treadmill

So much for Sunny and 70’s in KC in March. Yesterday was chilly, cloudy and rainy! This is me sitting by the fire!! It was in the 30’s! Ya gotta love a variety…….   The rainy cool day did make for a great coffee day. I am loving this new flavor of Dunkin Donut’s Coffee! It smells amazing, and I’m liking it best strong with no milk! It has a natural sweetness and it’s super smooth. Coffee lovers must try!      I was home all day doing lots of paper work stuff……paying bills, gathering tax info, making phone calls, and I DID NOT SNACK!!   I had bed head for most of the day and that made me happy.   While still in my jammies, I put on my shoes and socks and hopped on the treadmill. I had to get in some exercise yesterday! I walked at a […]

I Wore a Green Scarf

(Revised 3/24/15. I originally listed the Personal Size Pizza Crust in this post at 4 PointsPlus for the entire pizza. As it turns out, that pizza’s nutritional information list that ONE serving is 1/3 of the Personal Size Pizza Crust.  I’ve become such a label reader, I can’t believe I missed that! Thank you to one of my new readers for pointing that out! It just goes to show you, Personal Size does NOT necessarily mean One Serving! I apologize to many of you that might have rushed out to buy that pizza crust!)     St. Patrick’s Day…2009…Me in Mexico acting like I’m a 20 something….I don’t know a single person in this picture.   2010. It rained that day in Mexico, and we were entertaining ourselves in the lobby, but I came prepared!   2011 and 2012….I must have done nothing…I can’t find any pictures… 2013, with my […]

A Me Day!

(Revised 3/24/15. I originally listed the Personal Size Pizza Crust in this post at 4 PointsPlus for the entire pizza. I apologize to many of you that might have rushed out to buy that pizza crust!)   I had a great day yesterday playing Staycation. Complete dork…I know, but I still had a good time. It was 82 in Kansas City in March…..I had to enjoy it, right?? I had breakfast in bed, I did a little shopping, I ate my lunch on the deck in the sunshine, and I went out […]

A Sunny Staycation!

Last year’s vacation in Cancun…..   This year’s Staycation……   Look at that sunshine coming in the bedroom window! We skipped taking a Spring Break trip this year, so I’m super happy that’s it’s been in the 70’s here at home these last several days! It’s supposed to be gorgeous again today! Look at what the tree’s here are doing already!   I’ve enjoyed a lot of time outside lately. I love having that first cup of coffee outside on the deck! I’ve got the deck furniture cushions all out, the umbrella is up, and I’m thinking about a little hammock time with my book this afternoon. Yesterday, we slept in a bit, enjoyed coffee with the windows open, ate a nice big breakfast, then binge watched a little House of Card’s. We started Season Three! This show is cray cray and I love it!! After all of that relaxing, […]

Shoulder Update…

I went to the Dr. Thursday afternoon. The short story is……my right shoulder discomfort is all completely normal and my collarbone is healing nicely. I can move it however I would like to now, as long as it doesn’t hurt. Six more weeks before any Yoga. The doctor said while I’m walking, try to swing my arms now that I can, and see if that will help to avoid the muscle cramping that I was having in my back and neck while taking walks. (I was also wearing my sling wrong, which I assumed.) I took a nice 2 mile walk on Thursday afternoon, swung those arms, and everything felt great! The Dr. does however, want an MRI of my left shoulder, and he say’s that he can feel swelling in it, but does NOT think it is rotator cuff related. That’s good news. I would just like to be […]

Is This March in KC??

I know some people get tired of talking about it, but I’m just so happy to have the unseasonably warm weather! It was in the upper 70’s yesterday! I opened up the windows, so the house smells nice and fresh, the dogs are spending lots of time in the backyard, I’m having my morning coffee with a nice cool breeze blowing through the house….and you guys….sunshine just makes me happy! I even got out the flip flops yesterday!   Warm weather means a busy day at the Food Truck. I seriously love that job! At the end of the day yesterday, the only thing we had left were a few burgers, so I brought two of them home. As soon as I walked in the door, I cut a Boom Boom Burger in half, then in half again…… The 1/4 of the burger that I ate now looks really SMALL! 🙂 I […]

Snack’s and more Snack’s…..

This is an older picture, but we did do a lot of this yesterday! Today’s forecast? Upper 70’s!!! Tires and Friends…….

I found myself sitting at the Tire Store yesterday afternoon, getting new tires put on Mike’s car. Unexpected expenses are a real bummer! After finding out that I would be there for about an hour and half, maybe two hours, I sent out this group text to a few friends, and I got a response!   So, Niki saved me from sitting in those rock hard chairs and listening to CNN, and I spent the rest of the afternoon grabbing a Starbucks and running a few errands with her.  Bonus……Niki sent me home with a big bag of broccoli since she had an abundance of it! Dinner! It’s another beautiful day here in KC, so I’m opening up the windows and bringing in the fresh air!   Here are yesterday’s eats…… Breakfast 2 Poached Eggs, 2 Slices Trader Joe’s Bread….Toasted Orange Frothy Coffee 7 PPV I have a microwave Tupperware […]

Sunny Sunday Stuff

We did lots of Sunny Sunday Stuff yesterday! I love having coffee on the deck, so I did. I spent some time outside at my dad’s while he and my brother worked on a project…more coffee drinking outside. This makes me very happy. This is the Barn/Garage behind my dad’s house. He loves sitting in that porch swing and chatting away…..so we did some of that too. See the miniature Barn/Garage to the right?    He also loves building miniatures of the things he loves. He even built the swing. It just need’s a miniature dad sitting in it!   Mike played golf. I washed my car, inside AND out! Later, I watched Mike cut down the tall decorative grasses in the backyard. (I can tell by his demeanor and language that he loves this job just as much as he loves putting up Christmas Lights!) I ended my Sunny […]
