That’s how long I have to wait to go back to Jazzercise, and probably 10-12 Weeks for Yoga. They took new X-rays, and the doc say’s…”Yep, that’s a good clean break!” Me…”Um, what’s that mean. Clean?” My understanding is that the break is a straight line and that it should heal well. I’m just super happy I didn’t mess up the Rotator Cuff Surgery. That was my biggest concern. Doc say’s…. Wear a sling at all times to limit movement and speed heating. No lifting. Come back in 5 Weeks. Walking only for exercise, flat surface, not too fast. (Basically, don’t fall down. They know me so well!) Maybe don’t drink Fireball Shots and Beer on an empty stomach. Maybe just never drink Fireball shots. So, I came home and walked 1 mile on the treadmill. Yay! I’ve earned TWO Activity Points for the week! Whoo! Whoo!! Here are yesterday’s […]

Do What’s Best for YOU!
It felt so good to make the decision to take some of the foods back out of my diet (the foods that I took out of my diet for January) for the rest of the month, or at least really limit them to maybe only once a week. It makes me feel more disciplined, and that makes me feel like I’m putting my full effort into my weight loss, not just a little effort. I know it’s not for everyone, but it seems to work for me, right now anyhow. I think you have to do what works for you. I feel more in control knowing what I will and won’t eat. I did get outside yesterday for a walk, but then I only ended up walking about 1/2 mile. It’s a bit chilly out today, but I WILL get on the treadmill! I met a girlfriend out for dinner […]
I Do Better with Rules…..
January was a great month in the health department. I avoided these foods….. Gluten Dairy Red Meat Soy Corn Sugar Artificial Sweetness Alcohol At the end of the month, I was down almost 6 pounds, and was attending Yoga and Jazzercise and feeling pretty damned awesome! I’m thinking about taking those foods back out of my diet and here’s why. I like rules. (when I know that I need them). Knowing exactly what I was allowing myself to eat and to not eat, made it easier to make food choices. It forced me to think outside the box, but it also helped me avoid foods that can add up quickly in points, such as cheese and bread. I was eating so many whole foods, and so few processed foods, that I felt satisfied, I didn’t feel the urge to snack often, and I don’t really remember any actual […]
Avoiding Boredom
Being back in a sling is a such an icky memory of post Rotator Cuff surgery two years ago. It was actually 2 years ago this week! Mike said…”Well, at least you had figured out how to do most things with your left hand!” True Dat!! To avoid boredom eating yesterday, I kept really busy and had a successful eating day! I did a lot, I just did it slow. It was gorgeous outside, so I spent a little time on the deck with my mutts and grilled up some chicken breast for the week! He soooo wanted some chicken to drop! Later, Mike and I went to see American Snipper and then out to dinner! I’ll be keeping these post fairly short. Typing takes forever, but I don’t want to skip a post! Here are yesterday’s eats….. Breakfast Peanut Butter Oatmeal, Egg Whites, Black Coffee 6 PPV Snack […]
Gotta Keep Busy!
I tried not to eat out of boredom yesterday, but I wasn’t super successful. I started off the morning strong with a good breakfast of Almond Butter Toast, blueberries and black coffee. For the afternoon, I got into my Chinese Food leftovers when I should have just tossed them. Later, I had two bowls of Butternut Squash Chili. Then, I snacked on veggie and Hummus. For dinner, I made myself a big plate of fries. I know I went over on my points for the day. I did manage to drink well over 100 ounces of water, so I made lots of potty trips. I watched movies all day and pouted on the couch. I watched Love Is Strange, Garden State and The Godfather. I have no idea why I have never watched The Godfather! I slept like crap and rolled out of bed and said…..”Damn it, today will be […]
February…Revised
After I walked in the door yesterday from the doctor’s office, it hit me that with a broken collarbone, I won’t be doing Yoga for sure for a few weeks, and I’ll be taking a break from Jazzercise, which all really sucks. At my request, Mike brought home Chinese for dinner, and then I wished I’d made a different choice, because I know I snacked too much yesterday on almonds and baked chips and guac out of frustration and boredom. This morning, I threw away the chips and put the almonds out of sight for awhile. So, I have to make sure to stay on track with my eating, keep drinking the water, and walk, walk, walk. That’s the plan. “love the life you live, live the life you love”
Ouch.
One of my 2015 Goals was to set aside one day each month for Social Drinking. Before I go any further, I now realize that after going 5 weeks with no alcohol, I should have had some food in my stomach, and I should have paced myself. I had a fun day planned yesterday with a girlfriend that involved a few adult beverages. I’ll just be honest, cuz that’s how I roll. I got drunk and broke my collar bone. Breakfast 5 Egg Whites, Blueberries and Grapefruit Black Coffee 2 PPV Lunch Fireball and Beer Weight Watcher’s Points Plus I can eat 26 PPV a day. I can earn Activity Points by doing exercise, and eat them if I choose. I have an allowance of 49 extra points that I can dip into throughout the week if I choose. I should drink a minimum of 6 […]
Ahhh….that Baby!
I babysat this little beauty yesterday….. ……and I remembered….that I forgot…..how difficult it can be to take care of a baby, and take care of yourself at the same time. Basically, taking pictures of my food was not high on the priority list! Dressing up, feeding her lunch, snuggling and hugging were really the only things that had any priority at all! She will be ONE on tomorrow! I got in an awesome Jazzercise class and a picture of breakfast before little Charlotte Anne got to my house. I didn’t eat all of my points, but I just wasn’t very hungry at dinner? I did drink a lot of water. Here are yesterday’s eats…… Breakfast Trader Joe’s Bread, Toasted One Egg Chunky Monkey Cookies Frothy Coffee 6 PPV Lunch Un-pictured Chunky Monkey Cookies Raw Almonds, Raisins, Carrots, Bell Peppers 10 PPV Dinner Un-Pictured Butternut Squash Chili […]
Party Day!
I’m limited on time, so I’ll spare you all of the details of all of the thoughts of food and drink that I had in my head all day long yesterday! I was hosting a jewelry party, and I had healthy snacks planned, and I was stocked up on Beer and Wine. I started my day with a 30 minute Core Yoga class, followed by a 60 minute (standard) Yoga class, followed by a 75 minutes Stretch Yoga class. I drank lots of water throughout the day. If you read my blog regularly, then you know that I gave up alcohol for the month of January in an extra effort to get the scale going in the downward direction. It’s working for me.. At 6:00 pm yesterday, I could no longer stand the thought of the unopened bottles of wine on my counter top, so I opened a bottle. I […]
Snackin’ Day!
I don’t mind the Gluten Free Bread, I actually like it, but I was missing my Trader Joe’s bread for my morning toast! The Gluten Free Bread that I’ve been eating is 2 PointsPlus per slice, and my Trader Joe’s bread is only 1 PointsPlus per slice, so I went all out for breakfast and had two pieces of toast! Ahhh……the little things. Then I made up some yummy cookies made with Oatmeal, Bananas, Applesauce, Peanut Butter, Cocoa Powder and Vanilla. They were pretty tasty….kind of a Banana Cookie? I was making them so I would have a sweet option for myself at a Jewelry party that I am hosting tonight. I did NOT make them for my lunch yesterday. I ate 1 to taste, then I ate 1 more, then I ate 2 more, and then I ate 2 more, and then….uh huh, I ate 2 more. So I guess that […]
