Before I talk squash, the “Walking 100 Miles in September” challenge is winding down. I’ve liked this challenge for a few different reasons. It’s always nice to have a goal and chart it in one way or another. I’ve charted my progress on Instagram, and the accountability has been good for me because I have felt obligated to post my accomplishments! There are days that I walked, that I know that I wouldn’t have, had I not made the challenge for myself. Last night is a perfect example. It was long day and it was 8:00 pm before I had a chance to get any walking in, but I knew I had to get some miles in, so I took Tucker and we headed out the door! This morning I was able to get my walk in with some friends first thing! Four more days and 16 Miles to […]

CrAZy or not, I’m still here!
Nothing super exciting happened yesterday, thank goodness. I’m still alive, however there was a suspicious looking man sitting on a park bench as I walked around the neighborhood lake yesterday that I was OVERLY aware of. If you missed yesterday’s post, you would need to read that for this to make any sense at all. It’s titled, Yesterday, I Was the CrAZy One! I’m headed out to the new IKEA store in just a bit to shop for accessories for the Master. The painting has begun and I hope to have it all finished this weekend! Geesshhhh. Finally! The house is all painted and now I actually wish I would have painted the front door a different color! Dang it! Maybe some Fall Decor on the porch will change my mind about that. I’ll eventually take a picture. 🙂 My Walking Challenge is winding down, and it was absolutely beautiful […]
Yesterday….I was the CrAZy One!!
I think I might be CrAZy….. I’m not sure if I have unusual things happen to me, or if I make things that happen to me become unusual? Maybe a little bit of both. When I was a kid, I had the dad that yelled at the teenage driver speeding down the street….”Slow Down!”…So I do that too. Ten years ago, or so, as a driver was speeding by, I threw a full cup of water in his window. He hit the brakes and backed up and questioned me. I reminded him that he was in a neighborhood and that driving as fast as he was driving was NOT SAFE! He drove away and flipped me off. Punk. Around the same time, I was mowing in my backyard in the middle of the afternoon, and my daughter was playing at a neighbors house a few doors down. I look up […]
Busy….Crazy….Busy…
(If you received a partial post with this same title yesterday, I apologize. I accidentally hit “publish” before I was even close to being done with my blog post!) Yesterday was crazy and busy. Here’s a breakdown of the crazy events. The morning started out with some guy was on the loose with a gun, close enough to my neighborhood that the schools were on lockdown and no one was walking the trails. I ended up in morning traffic on the Interstate. I remained patient and calm until two different drivers behind me wanted to get a little too close for my comfort level. I mumbled four letter words to myself and tapped my breaks! I eventually and safely made it to the dealership to get my oil changed and my tires rotated while I enjoyed a Starbuck’s next door and some good people watching. Then I went grocery shopping […]
A Little time with my “Little”
One of the things that helped match me up with my Little Sis, Samone, is the fact that we both like to draw and paint. We both listed it as one of our top favorite things to do! We’ve talked about doing some artsy/craftsy stuff together, but had yet to do so, unless you count painting our nails as artsy/craftsy……and I suppose you could! I had decided that the next time that we got to hang out, we could do a Paint Glaze and Fire type of thing. I haven’t made a gigantic coffee mug in forever, and I love a coffee mug!! Well, turns out, I had some time available on Sunday that I hadn’t counted on, so Samone and I got to go to the Plaza Art Fair together! Samone was enjoying looking at the art, but she was enjoying making art even more! We stopped at […]
Good Day! Good Food!
Saturday was a really good day that included some really good food! It started off as a really good day because I didn’t crawl out of bed until about 8:30, and I found myself on the couch until about 11:00. The dogs and I were curled up with a blanket and I was sipping on my frothy coffee, playing sudoku and watching Will and Grace. It was a happy place that I didn’t want to leave. My plan had been to mow the lawn around 9ish, and then get my walk in early. Unfortunately, my butt was stuck to the couch and I didn’t seem to mind much. I only unstuck my butt from the couch because I had lunch plans with my mom to celebrate her birthday! When I got home from our lunch, I did get the lawn mowed and I got my walking miles in for the […]
It’s Gonna Be a Great Week!
It’s Gonna Be a Great Week! I woke up saying that yesterday morning. I rolled out of bed, l looked in the mirror, I smiled and said…..”It’s gonna be a great week!” Sometimes that’s all it takes. A little positive self talk. Things like….. I’ve got this. I can do this. I owe it to myself to be successful. I deserve to succeed. I will be strong. I will make good decisions. I will treat my body the way that it deserves to be treated. I am in control of me. I guess I’m feeling a little determined today to get back to my goal weight. Our meeting yesterday morning was awesome. Three people shared their success stories, and I felt a connection with each of them. It was a great motivator to not only wake up feeling as good as I did, but to then have the opportunity to […]
The Basic’s of Weight Watchers
When I got up yesterday morning, I stepped on the scale. It takes me a few days to do that when I come home from a vacation. I had an idea where the scale would be, and I was right. I knew that yesterday I would keep within my points, track my food, drink my water, exercise and prepare myself for an awesome week of getting back to the Basic’s of Weight Watchers. I’ve been up on the scale for a few months now and I would like to get back to where I was. Track what I eat. Drink my water. Exercise. Plan. It’s the Basic’s of Weight Watchers. I worked downtown at the Food Truck yesterday. There were four other Food Trucks there as well. I had a good breakfast before I went to work. While at work, my lunch consisted of a few bites of chicken, a […]
The Beach House. Girlfriends. Chapter One.
I left last Thursday morning with my friends Betsy and Amy, for a girl’s trip that I have been really excited about! We were on our way to N. Carolina to meet up with our friend Ashley. I met these three girls in the 7th grade. Some thirty five years later, we remain friends. Ashley grew up going to their family beach house every summer at Carolina Beach. I remember hearing stories of the beach house and I had an idea in my head of what it must have looked like. I can’t really remember the details of how planning the trip came about, but I do remember thinking it might be one of those trips that we just talk about. When we actually picked the date and started making plans, I couldn’t believe we were really going to get to go to the beach house! Ashley picked us […]
Getting Started with Weight Watchers
I’ve been going to Weight Watcher meetings on a regular basis now since September of 2009. I love my leader and I love my meetings. A couple of weeks ago, my leader asked me to share my success story at one of her up coming meetings. I was excited that she had asked me to share my story, but since I’ve gained some of my weight back and I seem to be holding on to it, I felt weird being a success story. Then I was reminded that up’s and down’s are a part of the journey and people that are on their own weight loss journey need to know that can be a normal part of the journey. The important thing is to remember this is a lifestyle, and you never quit. So I gladly went to the meeting last night and I shared my story along with two […]
