What’s YOUR Winter Walking Plan?

Yesterday, I accepted the winter temperatures that we are experiencing here in Kansas, and decided to move my treadmill into my newly decorated bedroom where I can rent movies or watch my DVR’d TV shows. I really hadn’t planned on this as a part of my new bedroom decor, but the 6″ ancient TV in the spare bedroom where my treadmill had been, just wasn’t going to do it for me if I’m going to be walking inside for the next few months. I decided that I could spend a bunch of money on a nice new TV, or I could drag the treadmill down the hall. I figured moving the darn thing might earn me a few activity points, right? I prepared myself for a half an hour ordeal and looked at the clock. Within 7 minutes, I had it in it’s new winter home! It actually folds up nicely […]

Join Me in a Healthy Week!

This Week I wrote one of those post this week where I had to admit I’m struggling. I hate writing those post, but I have to admit they do seem to get me back in a serious Weight Watcher Zone, for a while anyhow. I had a few comments on that post that also reminded me that many of us struggle in this food/weight battle, and that again, I am not alone in my struggles. I keep reminding myself that even though I have gained some of my weight back, this last 5 years is the longest that I have stuck with it, and I have not gone back on my word that I would be a Weight Watcher member for the rest of my life. Staying with Weight Watchers and continuing to work on being the best me that I can be, is keeping me from completely going to […]

I Will Never Quit

Activity Yesterday, I went to my third Yoga class in a row this week, and I walked 4 Miles on my treadmill. I’m loving the Yoga classes, and I even got out of the house nice and early and went to an 8:00 am class! It was really cold here in Kansas yesterday, so I decided to stay in during the afternoon and walk on the treadmill. Ellen kept me entertained, and I’ll probably be back on the treadmill again for the next several days. Baby it’s COLD outside! Food I went out of town last week, and I did really well with my food and drink choices. I know that going into this holiday season, I have got to be really careful, which is one of the reasons that I made the decision to track so well while I was out of town last week. I felt like I […]

You’ve likely all seen this before. One box of any flavored cake mix, and one can of pumpkin. That’s it! No oil, no eggs, no mess. If you have not seen this before, it really does work! To Do List and Activity Points

We went from a high of almost 70 on Monday, to somewhere in the 30’s on Tuesday! Egads!! I had a lot going on at home yesterday that included a large “to do list”, and I had a really tough time not snacking! I snacked on peanuts, pretzels, and eventually just fruit. The peanuts and pretzels are gone now, so I should be good, but I hate that I snacked like I did yesterday. I did stop while in the middle of a mouth full of pretzels and think about why it was that I was eating like that, and I realized I was overthinking a particular thing that had been on my mind lately that was apparently bothering me more than I had realized. Damn you anxiety!! I made myself stop thinking about it, and moved forward with my day. Before phone calls, errands, (bingeing on peanuts and pretzels) […]

Yesterday’s Focus? Activity!

It was a really productive day yesterday! I got a lot of housework done, I ate well, (I was however only going to eat 26 points, and I ate 30) I drank a lot of water! I’d love to know how many steps I took going to the bathroom! I’m trying to get a lot of activity in this week, and I had a successful day of that! I walked 6 Miles yesterday afternoon and I went to a 60 minute Yoga class last night. I got a good night’s sleep, and I feel ready to do it all over again today! Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous outside, and today, I woke up to a light dusting of snow on the deck this morning, so those miles might be taking  place on the treadmill today. I’ll be going to a Yoga Stretch class this morning!   Breakfast  I took a few […]

Walking This Week!

I went to my mom’s on Sunday morning to meet her and my brother to discuss our Thanksgiving Menu. While we talked about all of the yummy food that we will be eating for Thanksgiving, my mom and brother were enjoying gigantic cinnamon rolls, heated, with butter dripping off of them. I drank black coffee and pretended that I was content. After deciding who would bring what to Thanksgiving Dinner, I headed to Heritage Park to get a few miles in! When I did my 100 Mile Challenge in September, I did a pretty good job of spreading my miles out through the month. This month I’m starting off a little slow, so I’ve got some miles to catch up on if I’m going to be at the halfway point come the middle of the month! I’ve got some walking to do this week! Here are yesterday’s eats! Breakfast Toasted […]

Keeping it Real….

Typically when I go out of town for a fun trip, I try to be careful about what I eat, I try to drink a lot of water,  I basically drink whatever alcohol I want, sometimes I exercise, sometimes I don”t and I don’t think that I have ever gone on a trip and tracked my points. I blogged this past week in detail about going out of town and facing the challenges of food and drinks while traveling. I made last week different. I tracked everything (I did have to guess on a lot of foods) that I ate, drank lots of water, and I earned activity points! Throughout my Weight Watchers Week last week, I ate my daily points, I ate all of my weekly points, and I ate all of my earned activity points. I wasn’t able to make it to my meeting on Friday morning, but I […]

Plan, Track, Success!

I’ll keep this short. My fingers are tired from typing yesterday!  Breakfast in my hotel room yesterday morning was an apple that I had brought, and black coffee. I was enjoying my hotel robe too much to leave the room, and I had decided that I had spoiled myself enough, so I passed on room service. Lunch was fish taco’s, a banana and a latte at the airport. Snack’s were wine and nuts and random things that Ashli kept pulling out of her purse while we were on the plane. Dinner was the quickest plate of scrambled egg whites that I could throw together as soon as I walked in the door when I got home. I was starving! It was a challenging last three days of food and drinks, but I feel like I got through it successfully, and after the little mountain climbing excursion, I think I earned […]

Best Day Ever!

First, let me say thank you to my friend, Ashli. Thank you for thinking to ask me to join you on your business trip. Thank you for remembering that my daughter has this kick ass job that allows her mom to fly for free. Thank you for sharing your hotel room with me. Thank you for being so sweet, and thank you for having a business conference at the Omni Hotel and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! I knew that yesterday would be a great day, but I didn’t realize that it would be one of the best day’s ever! I like the saying…..”Stop and Smell the Roses”. I like to think that I do that often. Yesterday…..I did it all day long. I really don’t even know where to start, so I guess I’ll start with waking up at 6:00 am in the morning! […]
