Well, it’s been a great week in the Weight Watcher World, and just in life in general. I’ve been getting things marked off the “Big Project To Do List”, and that always feels great! It’s also been an awesome week to live in Kansas City! The Chiefs had an awesome game on Monday night Football and the Royals made it into the Playoffs on Tuesday after 12 innings, then won last night in extra innings! It’s First Friday’s in the crossroads district downtown today (if you live here, and you haven’t been, you REALLY need to go and experience it) and I am spending the entire day with an old friend playing downtown! It is also the American Royal BBQ this weekend in Kansas City, which is a HUGE annual event! It’s just a great week to be a Kansas Citian!! I feel like I am back on track with […]
The Master Bedroom
I am aware that nobody is nearly as excited to read this post as I am to write it, but I’m so HAPPY with my new Master Bedroom! We have lived in our house for fifteen years, and I’ve never really loved our bedroom. 1. It’s a big square with really only one option for bed and TV placement. 2. We have never purchased a bedroom set, so the pieces that we do have are completely random and nothing matches. 3. Mike designs cabinets for a living, so he did a great job of making sure we had “built ins” in our closet, so we really have no need to purchase a chest or a dresser to fill up the big square! 4. There are three large windows along one wall. I originally wanted there to be a window seat, but after the house was built, I realized that I […]
A Great End to September!
The Kansas City Royals win! I finished up my “Walking 100 Miles in September” challenge I finished painting and redecorating my bedroom! The Scale went down! It was a late night in Kansas City last night and the adrenaline rush made it really hard to go to sleep! But after 12 innings, the Royals came away with a win! I got the idea for the walking challenge from someone that I follow on Instagram! It was a great way to get me out the door on days that I likely would have made excuses. Now I need to come up with a Challenge for October! After several months of pondering what I wanted to do, and shopping for some inspiration, I found some curtains that I liked, and based the whole room around them. I’m really happy with the way that it all turned out! I’ll take more pictures […]
A Great Weight Watcher Day!
It was a great day as a WW Member. My day began with a 6.2 mile walk with a friend! After my walk, I met a friend for an early lunch at Panera. I ordered the Pick Two, 1/2 a Fuji Apple Salad and the bowl of Butternut Squash Ravioli. The bowl was of Ravioli was HUGE and I couldn’t find the points value online anywhere, so I only ate five of them. They were delicious! Only eating five of those ravioli was probably the most difficult thing I did all day long! But I did it! 🙂 After lunch, I ran LOTS of errands, then I began to put back together my bedroom. I am way more pleased with it than I was expecting to be. As I was painting, I was questioning my simple color choice, but I really think I am going to like it! I should […]
A Busy Sunday
I spent the first part of the day painting my bedroom, and the second part of the day working at the Food Truck at a Church Festival. It was a full and busy day, and I almost forgot to eat! That seriously NEVER happens! I am paining my bedroom a cream color, and I am painting it over a deep red. This paint job also includes the ceiling. After getting the four walls done and about a 1/3 of the ceiling done, it was time to clean up and head out to work. When I came home, Mike had finished the ceiling for me! I was ecstatic!! A girl can only paint so much! I am hoping to spend the next two days finishing up all of the extra’s. I have a curtain rod to paint, the toilet room to paint, curtains to hang, and pictures to hang. I’m excited […]
Weight Watcher Update….and the PARADE!!
Weight Watcher’s At my meeting last week, I weighed 172. One year ago, I got down to 154. I had been slowly losing weight for four years. I had plateaued several times, but never gained more than 3 or 4 pounds. After reaching a weight of 154, slowly, I was back at 160, then IN the 160’s. I hung out in the upper 160’s for a long time, and now this. It’s tough to write this blog sometimes. I have readers that I am trying to inspire and motivate to live healthy. I don’t like to let anyone down. I have people reading the blog that know me personally, and gaining weight back, frankly….is embarrassing. But, the whole idea behind the blog, was to share my story, struggles and all. Over the last five years, this is the first time that I’ve had a gain that has lasted so long. […]
A Squashy Day…….
Before I talk squash, the “Walking 100 Miles in September” challenge is winding down. I’ve liked this challenge for a few different reasons. It’s always nice to have a goal and chart it in one way or another. I’ve charted my progress on Instagram, and the accountability has been good for me because I have felt obligated to post my accomplishments! There are days that I walked, that I know that I wouldn’t have, had I not made the challenge for myself. Last night is a perfect example. It was long day and it was 8:00 pm before I had a chance to get any walking in, but I knew I had to get some miles in, so I took Tucker and we headed out the door! This morning I was able to get my walk in with some friends first thing! Four more days and 16 Miles to […]
CrAZy or not, I’m still here!
Nothing super exciting happened yesterday, thank goodness. I’m still alive, however there was a suspicious looking man sitting on a park bench as I walked around the neighborhood lake yesterday that I was OVERLY aware of. If you missed yesterday’s post, you would need to read that for this to make any sense at all. It’s titled, Yesterday, I Was the CrAZy One! I’m headed out to the new IKEA store in just a bit to shop for accessories for the Master. The painting has begun and I hope to have it all finished this weekend! Geesshhhh. Finally! The house is all painted and now I actually wish I would have painted the front door a different color! Dang it! Maybe some Fall Decor on the porch will change my mind about that. I’ll eventually take a picture. 🙂 My Walking Challenge is winding down, and it was absolutely beautiful […]
Yesterday….I was the CrAZy One!!
I think I might be CrAZy….. I’m not sure if I have unusual things happen to me, or if I make things that happen to me become unusual? Maybe a little bit of both. When I was a kid, I had the dad that yelled at the teenage driver speeding down the street….”Slow Down!”…So I do that too. Ten years ago, or so, as a driver was speeding by, I threw a full cup of water in his window. He hit the brakes and backed up and questioned me. I reminded him that he was in a neighborhood and that driving as fast as he was driving was NOT SAFE! He drove away and flipped me off. Punk. Around the same time, I was mowing in my backyard in the middle of the afternoon, and my daughter was playing at a neighbors house a few doors down. I look up […]
Busy….Crazy….Busy…
(If you received a partial post with this same title yesterday, I apologize. I accidentally hit “publish” before I was even close to being done with my blog post!) Yesterday was crazy and busy. Here’s a breakdown of the crazy events. The morning started out with some guy was on the loose with a gun, close enough to my neighborhood that the schools were on lockdown and no one was walking the trails. I ended up in morning traffic on the Interstate. I remained patient and calm until two different drivers behind me wanted to get a little too close for my comfort level. I mumbled four letter words to myself and tapped my breaks! I eventually and safely made it to the dealership to get my oil changed and my tires rotated while I enjoyed a Starbuck’s next door and some good people watching. Then I went grocery shopping […]
