My dad loves Antique shopping. He could look at trinkets and collectibles for days. I’m not sure I could look as long as he could, but I am certain, the curiosity of what is hidden away in some of those little booths, has been passed down to me. He collects elephants, but loves to look at anything really, and I seem to have a love for chairs and clocks? I have no idea why. I have an odd little chair collection scattered throughout my house. The two of us were due for a day together, and agreed we needed to spend some time shopping at an Antique Mall that I honestly have NEVER shopped at, and he said that he hadn’t been there in years, and it’s likely the closest one to our houses! If you’re local, and you enjoy a little antiquing, this one offers double the fun, because […]
I’m Back In My Size 8’s!
After weighing myself at home on Friday morning, and finally being under the 160 mark, I decided to see if I could slip into those size 8 jeans that I bought back in October! Yay!! Yes, I am quite pleased with myself, and yes, this is my butt. And….Yes, those upper thighs are why I think swimsuits suck! Below is a picture from a Blog Post that I wrote back in December, “The Truth Is In Your Jeans”, where I talked about how frustrated I was with myself for putting on enough weight that I couldn’t button these, and then be able to breathe! It felt so good to be able to wear these yesterday! I LOVED my WW meeting Friday morning! It was one of those meetings where the Leader has asked a few members to come up to the front of the meeting room as a […]
Stupid….The End.
Okay, after Pinning the “3 Day Diet” on Pinterest Monday, and making a really fast (and possibly desperate) decision to start it on Tuesday morning, (oh, and while fully admitting that it sounded “stupid”) I was anxious to finish it up last night at dinner, and step on the scale this morning! I lost 4 pounds! It is exactly what I was hoping for and it got me back out of the 160’s! Now I need to bet back to the 154 that I had gotten to in October and move forward to 150! The “3 Day Diet” is supposed to be the right mix of foods, chemically, to burn fat fast, or something like that? How that stuff all works is over my head. Sometimes I just like to be told what to eat. Deciding what to eat three to five times a day, and staying within your points, […]
Stupid…Day 2
Day 2 of the “3 Day Diet” I shared on my blog yesterday that I was participating in an experiment. I mean, I’m the only participant, but it is an experiment. I pinned this silly “3 Day Diet” on Pinterest, and I became curious. The food was easy, I’m anxious to get the holiday weight off before vacation, it sounded simple, and there’s not much cooking at all, so I decided to give it a try. The “3 Day Diet” is pretty cut and dry, but there are a few substitution options. The only thing on the diet that I didn’t want to eat, was the (2) hot dogs that you are supposed to eat for dinner on Day 2. Plain hot dogs. No bread, no ketchup. That seemed like a lot of fat and salt for this girl. You could substitute 4 oz. of beans for each frank, so […]
Stupid? Kinda….
Yesterday was such a weird day, food and otherwise, that I won’t even go into “otherwise”. I don’t know where to start. I’m always honest on my blog, and sometimes when I make a decision, (a food decision) it’s much later in the day that I remember that I am going to have to blog about it! Well, I guess I don’t HAVE to, it is a decision I make, but it is what I do. Then I think….how will I explain myself without looking so stupid? Then I realize, I kinda look stupid a lot, and really, people are used to it and nobody cares. So…here’s the deal. It is super important to me that I weigh less that 160 when I leave for vacation exactly three weeks from today! I can’t explain it, except for the fact that I have never been on vacation and weighed less than […]
A Great Girlfriend Day!
I woke up really looking forward to the day that was ahead of me. It was going to be a Great Girlfriend Day! A friend of mine had the day off work and had decided she was due for some quality girl time! I agreed that spending the day together doing some girly stuff sounded like a great idea! We decided on an early movie, then lunch, then a pedi. I had promised myself that I would get up early enough to get my”chores” done around the house, exercise and shower and be out of the house by 9:00 to get a couple of errands in before the movie. Typically when I plan to exercise early in the morning, I figure out all sorts of reasons why I just can’t get it done. I convince myself that I will get it done later in the afternoon, or at least in […]
It’s a ShaMoothie!!
Shake or Smoothie? What’s the difference? I never really know, but from what I’ve read today, it seems as though a smoothie is made with mostly fruit, and a shake is made with mostly milk? I typically make mine with 1 cup of Milk (Skim Milk, Whey Protein, Almond milk….etc), 1 Cup of frozen fruit, and whatever else I seem to throw in it! So it seems I’m right in the middle, making neither a Shake nor a Smoothie, but a ShaMoothie!! You think I can patent that? Cherry Banana ShaMoothie!! 1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk 1 Packet Truvia 1 Cup Frozen Cherries 1/2 Frozen Banana 2 Ice Cubes Blend…..in your blender. 🙂 Other exciting things about Sunday? It was beautiful outside, so I took advantage of that and took a 4 mile walk and was able to breathe in some fresh air!! I got […]
Build a Breakfast Sandwich!
One of my most satisfying meal’s, is breakfast. (You know this is the most important meal of the day, right?) I love a breakfast sandwich. I think they taste great, I can include a nice variety of ingredients, and a breakfast sandwich can keep me full all morning. I’ve bought Light English Muffins (3 PPV) forever, and I really like them, but while trying this whole Gluten Free thingymabob, I bought these! These are 3 PPV per serving as well, and while it took me a while to get used to the different texture that they offer, they are beginning to grow on me! I did sneak in a piece of cheese on my breakfast sandwich, and I said I wouldn’t do that until after my 21 days of No Gluten, No Dairy! I was honestly so excited to allow myself skim milk back in my coffee (early), I […]
Banana Cookie Bars
I played with an Oatmeal Cookie recipe last Sunday, and I really liked the way it turned out. It was dense and with all of the banana’s in it, it seemed more like a heavy Banana Bread than a Oatmeal Cookie. I did like the taste of it. After adding just a few chocolate chips to each cookie, I liked it even more! I’d love to give credit to the original cookie recipe creator, but I have no idea who it is…. As I was about to put these on the cookie sheet to bake yesterday, I decided to try baking them as a bar. I’m calling them…… Oatmeal Banana Cookie Bar’s Ingredients 2 Cups Oats 1/3 Cup Natural Applesauce 3 Smashed Ripe Banana’s 1/4 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk 1 tsp Cinnamon 1 tsp Vanilla Extract 2 Packets Truvia 36 Chocolate Chips (Because that’s how many I had!) 🙂 Directions […]
Counting Points and Happy About It!
I’m certain that eating the right foods and feeling satisfied so that you won’t over eat works for a lot people doing the WW Simple Start or WW Simply Filling plans, but I struggle with portions, so I felt like I needed to get back to counting points and measuring my portions. Maybe forever, maybe not, we’ll see. I can honestly say that I am back to counting points and happy about it! Breakfast Gluten Free English Muffin, 3 Egg Whites, Salsa Un-Pictured Soy Latte Pear and Grapes Lunch 3 Egg Whites, 3 oz. Potatoes, 1 tsp. Olive Oil, Salsa Snack Coffee and Banana Snack I bought these for the “No Gluten”. I’ve discovered they were actually TOO GOOD to keep in my house! 10 Chips = 4 PPV Dinner Beef and Brussels Skillet Dish Ingredients 93% Lean Ground Beef Chopped Onion 1 Cup Frozen […]
