Happy Birthday Dad….and my most ridiculous day ever in the kitchen!
My daughter called from college a couple of weeks to say….. “Mom, cooking is a learning experience, right?” She was making a Pinterest recipe that required her to roll out biscuit dough. She had no roller. She used a liquor bottle. I love that kid. I spent Sunday messing things up, adding things that didn’t belong, running to the store to replace my goofs, throwing out perfectly tasty things that looked horrendous, and thoroughly enjoying preparing for a houseful of family on a cold Sunday night. It was nice to spend the dreary morning in the kitchen baking and cooking. It was my dads birthday, and he picked the menu! (well, I gave him a couple of options to pick from that I thought I could possibly handle.) Spaghetti, Caesar Salad, Crusty Bread, Red Velvet Cake and Vanilla Ice Cream. I wanted to have everything ready when all the family […]

Friday Reflection…..
It turned out to be a fairly successful week. I did weigh in today, and I am still under 170, but also still playing that 165-168 game. I feel back in the Zone though, so that should change and I feel 164 coming my way! Today’s meeting was all about Power Foods. I thought I knew what all of them were, but I learned a few things today, so as always, so glad I went to my meeting! Power Foods are basically fruits and veggies, lean meats and whole grains and low fat dairy. One lady said the easiest way to remember what Power Foods are……You can pick it off a tree, or it comes out of the ground, or you can shoot it!!!! Egads! I am NOT shooting anything, but I don’t mind eating it! 🙂 Breakfast was a smoothie for the road. WW Chocolate Smoothie2 T PB2 Chocolate1 […]

Just a Few Things To Say Today………
Lots going on Wednesday….work at the Food Truck (always fun), final PT appointment, (further evaluation necessary, bummer), A trip to Hobby Lobby (ALL CHRISTMAS ITEMS 50% OFF!), a trip to Trader Joe’s for a turkey (yip, I’m cooking a turkey this year.) I have an appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon for an evaluation in DECEMBER! So, in the meantime, I will continue to do my physical therapy at home, and hope that I see much improvement, and am able to cancel that December appointment. I am going BACK to Hobby Lobby SOON! They had sooooo much cute stuff! I bought a “brined” turkey at Trader Joe’s, and although I have absolutely NO IDEA what that means, I’m super excited to cook this year for Thanksgiving! My day started off with a Pumpkin Spice flavored coffee, with steamed milk and a sprinkle of Pumpkin Pie Spice to top it off!2 PPV […]
Advil PM, Ben Gay, Muscle Relaxer, Neck Pillow……..
Apparently the perfect recipe for a great nights sleep because Monday night I slept like a baby! I had a massage Tuesday that was long overdue….. I wish I would have thought to ask my doctor for a muscle relaxer WAY before now, and I wish I wish I would have scheduled a massage WEEKS ago! When this happened last time, I got a muscle relaxer and it greatly improved my nights sleep! I was also reminded a couple of days ago about the use of Ben Gay! This has made a huge difference in being able to relax in the evening right before bedtime. Wednesday is my final appointment with the Physical Therapist, and I feel just like I did when I started, so I have no idea what to expect. I would assume a visit back to the Dr.?? Urg. Breakfast(Yay! I bought a new omelet pan. Remember […]
