Friday Reflection

I started referring to my Friday post as “Friday Reflections” a few weeks back. It was actually the subject matter of today’s Weight Watcher meeting. By the way, have I mentioned lately how much I love my WW Leader? I don’t think I have. She came to me in my seat before she started the meeting and said to me…..”What’s going on with you? Your blog yesterday was really depressing.” I’m like…….”I know, I know, I know. I don’t know what my deal is.” Sometimes I forget she reads my blog! (Hi Joan!) I really put it all out there, and she supports me no matter what. When I get off track, she is there for me. Myself and my fellow WW members are lucky to have her! 🙂 I almost skipped the meeting today, and I am so glad I didn’t. Okay, back to today’s WW meeting. I know […]

A Great Day to be Outside……

Tess’ favorite Tree is a Weeping Willow, so while walking the dogs, I took this picture and sent it to her….. 🙂 Sometimes, I’m gushy. My breakfast Burrito on Wednesday was so good, I had another on Thursday! It did fall apart, but it tasted great! I guess all the dishes were dirty? I have NO idea why I ate on a paper plate? After about a five mile walk before breakfast, I took the doggies for a mile stroll around the neighborhood pond/lake…….. We stopped to smell the roses…..or goose poop……. They decided there were more smells to smell down the path, so we moved on….. When we got home, we sat on the deck for an hour! It was gorgeous outside! Then a little lunch. Tilapia Tacos. I found this seasoning at Whole Foods a while back and I absolutely love it! So I cooked up a pound […]

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet, Give me Something Good to Eat!

I thought that saying was hilarious when I was a kid. Okay, still makes me giggle……. I thought this year for Halloween, I would buy some candy that I don’t like. Well, I succeeded. Twizzlers Rainbow flavor…..ick….. I think these are disgusting! I love licorice, but I thought these lacked in flavor and were too chewy. It really is best though. I hope the little kids like them. I would devour any chocolate I bought! Breakfast I haven’t made a breakfast burrito in forever! I totally got into a “Morning Toast” rut. It was that damn Pumpkin Butter! I spread the Queso Laughing Cow Cheese Wedge on a tortilla and filled it with Southwest Egg Beaters! I finished up my Orange/Lemon Juice soaked Apple and added a Banana 6 PPV Then I had a few early morning errands to run…….. Like taking this little lady to the beauty shop! (Okay….groomer) […]

Appleicious!!

It’s a day of Apple’s. I really wanted to get in my fruits and veggies today, and my crisper is full of Honey-crisp apples. While I do enjoy eating an apple the old fashioned way, I like to change things up a bit too. Then I discovered apple flavored things that I could NOT pass up! I ate these apple slices……..after they soaked in the juice of an orange and a lemon for 2 hours. I had this for breakfast……cooked apples over oatmeal. And I tried this gum, for the obvious reason….. It’s APPLE PIE flavor!! And…..I had these as a snack. An awesome Trader Joe’s find.Cinnamon Apple Snack Sticks20 sticks2 PPV But, before I continue with the details of my Appleicious day, let me back up a bit to let you know just how big of an idiot I truly am. Do you know the difference between a Parsnip […]

A nice morning of humiliation……..and other stupid sh*t.

Its not like the annual pap exam isn’t already humiliating enough, but the thoughtless nurse/aide that got my height and weight, blurted it out in the hallway as she wrote it down! I am terrible at thinking of things to say when I am caught off guard because I don’t want to be rude, I don’t want to embarrass myself, and I don’t want to say anything I might regret, but I wanted to say …..”Was it really necessary for you to announce my weight in the middle of the hallway filled with other people? It’s not like I asked you how much I weigh?” I was afraid it would come out really angry and I would just look like an idiot, so I said nothing. I have complained about being weighed at this particular Dr. Office before and the manner in which it is handled. I love the Doctor, […]

Weekend Festivities and Food……

More information that you need to know…….. Typically I clean house, top to bottom, the first Saturday of the month. I keep things picked up all the time, but I hate to mop, dust, vacuum, bathrooms! ick! But, throughout the month, I clean as needed. Since the house seemed unusually dusty, I cleaned some on Friday, Saturday AND Sunday! I got it all done a weekend early! (Maybe I completely forgot to clean last month? Eeeekkkk….that’s a possibility) Since Tess was home for the weekend, I thought it would be fun if she helped. She disagreed. Surprise! In between cleaning and laundry and yard-work, we did manage to have a little fun too! (Mike worked a lot of hours trying to make up for what he missed last week…….the guy really works a lot!) Saturday night, Tess and I went to the Plaza for Waterfire? It really was cool. Lots […]
