Yesterday was an almost perfect day, and that makes me very happy. I ate breakfast at 9:30. I ate lunch at 2:30. I ate dinner at 7:30. I was busy in between meals and there really wasn’t any time for snacking. Yay. I walked in the morning. I planned a filling breakfast and ate it right before going to work at the food truck. (I’ve discovered that this helps me to not make bad choices while working there.) I had an awesome lunch of leftovers from the salads that I’ve been making all week. I went to Jazzercise class in the afternoon. I drank over 120 ounces of water, and dinner was delicious. The only reason yesterday was almost perfect….I planned out this great Cobb Salad, cuz ya know…I’m doing this salad thing this week. I planned it all out and listed all of the ingredients, so I didn’t leave anything […]
Cranky Crankster
Yesterday I was cranky all day long. I haven’t had one of those days in a long time. I slept crappy the night before, I had a stiff neck, and I got a paper cut early in the day. I’m not even kidding. Let’s be real. A paper cut can jack with your whole day. Because of my stiff neck, I talked myself into and out of my 4:30 Jazzercise Class at least three times. After 4:30, I talked myself into and out of a 6:30 Hot Yoga class as least twice. After we ate dinner at 7:30, I changed clothes and put on my walking shoes. Then I sat down on the couch beside Mike (who also had a crap day) and never did go for a walk. We went to bed before 9:00 pm! Today? I’m rested. I’ve already been out for a 3 mile walk. We’re having […]
Salad, Salad, Salad
I rarely ask Mike what he would like for dinner, because… He tells me that he has too many decisions to make during the day and he doesn’t want to make another one. He tells me that he likes everything that I make, so it doesn’t matter. (He doesn’t want to make a decision.) He’s super sweet and tells me that we can just go out to eat. (He doesn’t want to make a decision.) He actually answers me and tells me that he wants Grilled Chicken Salad, and he really does! I’m going to see what kind of Grilled Chicken Salads I can come up with this week! I am loving this cooler weather we are having and it is making me anxious for Fall. I love having that first cup of coffee on the deck, so that’s exactly what I did yesterday before going to Yoga. After Yoga, I […]
St. Louis Trip
The Fun What a fun weekend it was. It can be really hard to drag Mike away from work, but when I do, we always have such a good time. My daughter, Tess, and her boyfriend, Manuel, were going to be in St Louis for the weekend to attend the wedding of a friend of theirs on Saturday. Tess wanted us to come hang out with them on Friday because it also happened to be her birthday weekend. We headed out Friday morning for our road trip. It’s a 4-5 hour drive, depending on snack and potty stops. We hadn’t done a road trip together in a while, and it was good to spend that much time together in the car just chatting. Mike drove for an hour, while I entertained him with songs and stories. After an hour of that, I got antsy in the passengers seat (I am a […]
Road Trip
Mike and I are heading out the door for a little road trip to St. Louis. My daughter and her boyfriend are flying into St. Louis this morning from Dallas to attend a wedding there on Saturday afternoon. Tess thought it would be fun for Mike and I to come visit for a day. It also happens to be her birthday this weekend, so we have a little celebrating to do! We are just staying for one night, but I’m certain we will fit in as much fun as we possibly can. Yesterday was a great day. I went to my third Jazzercise class for the week, and it feels good to know that I completed one 3 mile walk, one Hot Yoga Class and three Jazzercise Classes this week. I am going into the weekend with a positive frame of mind, and I’m super excited to see my kiddo! Here are yesterday’s eats….. […]
Ending Strong
Thursday is day 7 of my WW week, and although I wasn’t really happy with the way I started my week, I feel like I am ending my week strong. Yesterday was busy and full and happy and good and I was chipper all day long. Maybe even a little sassy. (It was in the 70’s, my absolute favorite temperature! Makes me giddy!) I woke up early and did a few chores around the house in the morning, followed with a Frothy Coffee on the deck in the nice cool morning air. I left just before 10:00 am to work the food truck for our regular Wednesday lunch crowd, then I went to an intense Jazzercise class. I pulled in the driveway after Jazz and decided to mow. By the time I finished mowing, it was 6:30, and I was now in the mood to do nothin. So I did. Well…..except watch the […]
My Motivation for the Day
No matter where I seem to be in my journey, sometimes I lose my spunk. I get side tracked. I forget to apply the things that I’ve learned. That’s when I start to seek motivation. I can find motivation in a lot of different places, but sometimes I need to remember to take the time to look for it. I like to say that my main motivation is my health, but sometimes that doesn’t completely do it for me, so I find motivation in other places. Sometimes I look at old pictures of myself at my highest weight and I’m reminded how I never want to be there again. Sometimes I’ll skim through a fitness magazine and read the personal stories of the people featured in the magazine. Sometimes I read my own blog around the time I reached my goal weight in the summer of 2013 and I am […]
Great Start to the Day
I started my morning off yesterday with a Hot Yoga class, where I was reminded how strong my body has become. I was reminded to be kind to myself and to respect the body that I have, no matter where I am in my journey. I left that class feeling really good about myself. Starting the day off being so conscious of my body and what it is capable of, made it easier to focus on healthy choices and filling my body with the right foods. Knowing that I was making healthy food choices, put me in a great place mentally for the rest of the day. That Yoga can be some good stuff! Here are yesterday’s eats…. Breakfast (Pre-Yoga) – 3 PPV Frothy Coffee and 2/3 C. Nonfat Greek Yogurt with Vanilla Stevia drops, Cinnamon and Blueberries Breakfast (Post-Yoga) – 4 PPV One Egg, One Egg White over Smashed Baked Sweet Potato […]
Let’s give Monday a try…..
(I have absolutely no idea why some of my pictures are coming in sideways. They look fine when I preview them in my blog post, and they are fine when viewing the post in the website, but I notice viewing from my phone or via email, some are sideways. Hopefully I will figure that out.) I feel like over the past few days, I’m just eating, then tracking at the end of the day, not really knowing where I’m at for sure until I view my pictures of what I’ve eaten throughout the day, and then I track the points. I’m guesstimating on too many meals too. My meals are not necessarily unhealthy, I’m just not paying close attention to servings sizes, so I end up guessing on their points value at the end of the day. Beer and wine sound good too often. Last weekend I didn’t track at all for the […]
And Saturday….
Trying to play catch up on my blog and journaling my food….. I had breakfast with my mom and then we did a little shopping. I bought this awesome Doll House from one of my friends and I can hardly wait for my granddaughters to come over and play with me! My exercise for Saturday included mowing the lawn and a few other lawn duties outside in the heat! My evening involved a date night with Mike on the couch eating pizza, drinking wine and watching the KC Royals and the KC Chiefs, both winning!! It was a great day, but I am just not eating like I would like for myself to be eating right now. Wanting to drink beer and wine, not caring while I’m doing it, frustrated with myself later for consuming too many points. Here are yesterday’s eats….. Breakfast – 10 PPV Breakfast Taco’s on Corn […]
